"If you want to be duped, made to feel stupid, be sent something that you didn't order, be hung up on and end up spending more than if you bought it at a more reputable store, shop here. Otherwise, be smart and stay away."
"IN MY OPINION, RUN RUN RUN!! UNLESS BAIT AND SWITCH IS OK WITH YOU, AND YOU WANT TO BE VICTIMIZED, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH THIS UNPLEASANT, SLICK MANIPULATOR.
THAT IS ONE MAN'S OPINION. YOU CAN OF COURSE READ THE OTHER 200 BAD REVIEWS AS WELL.

"I tried to purchase a Canon XTi on-line on March 2. The web site took my name, address, phone, email and credit card number. On March 3 I got an email saying they cancelled my order. When I called for an explanation they said the camera was discontinued (wrong), that it was replaced by the Canon XSi (partially right – release expected mid-April), that the web site says to call to verify availability (wrong). They denied the web site said the item was in stock (maybe they can’t read). On March 5 the price got lowered from $347 to $299, so I called. They said they were expecting a shipment in 4 weeks (Gee – I guess it wasn’t really discontinued). On March 5 they raised their price from $299 to $369.
I sure wish they didn't have all of my personal information and credit card info - live and learn. I’m sure there is more to say, but I’ll close with “Be afraid – be very afraid”!"
"I ordered a D300 prior to reading the reviews. After I read the reviews I was extremely worried. The product arrived in good order earlier than I expected. The price was right. I agree with one of the earlier rreviews. I wish they would just say that they are gray market. I've bought other cameras gray market and am very happy. I am satisfied.

"NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!
Contacted this "vendor" to buy a Sony camcorder, and all of a sudden I realized they were lying about the contents of the package, and trying to sell things that are supposed to come with the camera.
Unfortunately, when I realized that they already had my credit card number... So, I tried to call them at least 30 times, but there was no one available to take my calls. After trying one of the extensions, I left a message stating I would not receive the product, and would contact my credit card company, IC3 and local police if required to cancel my order.
After that I tried to call again, and finally someone answered the phone. They said my order had already been shipped, even though I had placed the order like 1 hour before that. Then, I said I would not receive the product and would do all the things I mentioned on the email if they had the intention to proceed. The guy simply hung up the phone.
I called again, and the guy said: "What do you want? The order has already been cancelled! Don't call us again you little person!"
Well, I am not a little person, but I am happy they just canceled my order."
"I strongly urge you to consider NOT doing business with the place. My horror story is very similar to most reviews listed below me. After I received my "confirmation"/upsell phone call and agreed to the package "deal", I got an uneasy feeling about the whole thing. I heard most of the same things you've all heard. I mean seriously, what kind of camera manufacturer (I was buying a Nikon) includes a battery that is only good for 15 minutes?! The more I thought about it, the more it didn't make sense and the more I felt like I was being taken for a ride. I called them at least 20 times today to ask various questions. Each time, their answers made less and less sense. I thought about it for a fews more minutes and then called them again and spoke with the same rep I'd been dealing with all day. My intent this time was to cancel the order. The rep's words, verbatim, were, "What now? You've called us like 55 times today. It's ridiculous." He was not pleased to hear from me again and tired of dealing with me. You could hear it in his voice. I promptly and firmly told him to cancel my order. He put me on hold for about minutes and came back to tell me it was canceled. I asked what surprise charges I may see on my credit card and he said, "None. It's been canceled." My question is this: to those of you who have had success in canceling orders, have you had any problems with getting the pending charges dropped from you credit card or any problems with a refund to the credit card?"
"I found this web site to late 1 way photo.com total liars and scammers .the reason they don’t send a receipt like they say they will is because they don’t send you what you order. They are a bait and switch company in a whole in the wall in Brooklyn. Jason David Scott more than likely a bunch of made up names anyway. I am taking the advice of some of you and refusing the shipment have already contacted my credit card company and and will be sending a complaint to every gov agency including the nypd and states attorney here are some links to start tohttp://www.ic3.gov/ http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/resources/complaint.shtml https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01"
"Scam, Scam, Scam!!!! Just like everyone else. I order, have to call in and then the order is cancled and they hang up if I will not buy by the upgrade whatever, which is not really a product.
Run as fast as you can. BTW search for this company vs. their state and see what legal actions you come up with.
I've had good luck with Adorama, B&H, and Canoga. Pick from these and you should be ok. If you did actually buy from 1-way. Do yourself and favor and deny it to your friends. The only people that actually got product from these guys got shafted. "
"I bought a Nikon D200 from 1 Way Photo. Their web site says 1) the camera comes with a battery and 2) ground shipping is free. Neither one is true.
When I called to confirm the order (they sent me an e-mail asking me to do so), they told me I needed a rechargeable battery because the one that comes with the camera is a "start-up only." They also told me the camera I had ordered from their web site had a plastic body (they expect you to infer that from the phrase "Japanese version" in the specs) so I had to change the order to a magnesium alloy body. They did not e-mail me a break down of the new charges. When I opened the box today, I saw they had treated my order as a "package" that was over $400 more than my original order, including $78 for "S&H And Ins." I called them immediately, and they told me (yelled, rather, because the salesman was very rude) that 1) the shipping charge was for "insurance" (a hidden charge they never tell you about beforehand), and that 2) the battery they had given me sells for $199. I told them I had just purchased the same battery, as a spare, from another retailer for $45. Although both batteries are identical, with the same model number and amperage, the Customer Rep at 1 Way Photo told me that the battery I had purchased from them was "memory free" and the battery I had purchased from B&H could not be recharged until it was completely drained. I called B&H and they confirmed what I suspected: that there is no such difference between the two batteries (other than the price). It was not difficult to conclude that the salesman and the "Customer Service" person at 1 Way Photo with whom I spoke are liars and that I had been had. I wanted to return my order, but 1 Way Camera charges a 15% restocking fee. I wish I had known about resellerratings.com earlier. I would have never ordered anything from 1 Way Photo. I see a large number of customers have had bad experiences with them. Doing business with 1 Way Photo was one of the worst purchase experiences I have ever had."
"Watch out! This site is NOT a place to find a bargain but a place to become prey of scammers. 'In Stock' to them means, if you're willing to spend more than retail on an item, then and only then they will have one in stock for you. It seems at this point I was lucky to cancel my order once I realized the tricks these guys were playing such as high pressure sales of overpriced items and of selling me items that should have been included with the product from the manufacturer. A BIG thanks needs to go out to this site and those who posted before me - Thank you!"
"LIARS, misrepresentation, wrongful advertising, etc... they claim to have "in stock" but they DO NOT have the items (I first ordered the Canon EOS40d and later the Nikon D300 - similar stories on both accounts!!!). A friend subsequently told me that he'd heard of someone who received the body, but no battery pack, no charger, not even a cover for the lens mount - to which they said that was how they kept their low prices. THIEVES!!!"
"I have the same story as everyone else on this website. I ordered a Nikon D40 w/18-70mm lens on 1/9/08. When they called me to confirm my order 1/13/08, they told me i would need a battery, and they offered to upgrade my lens to a Nikkon model. I asked them to email me with more information about the order changes so i could make a decision. On Monday 1/14/08 i got an email confirmation of my order. The package i ordered on their website was $539.99, but the confirmation i received listed a different package at $729.99, and they charged me $20 shipping. Their website says "free shipping." I called them 15min after receiving the email and spoke to Scott. I told him that i had not confirmed my order with anyone, and asked that he cancel my order. His response was that the camera shipped, my credit card was billed the $749.99, and i could return it after i received it. Then i would be subject to a restocking fee. I was hung up on.
I called back a few times and was cursed out and called stupid. I decided it was best to not speak to them anymore, so i emailed them asking that the cancel my order and refund my credit card. The response i got was, "the order shipped." I replied to inform them i contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges, and i would reject the package when UPS tried to deliver it.
I'm wondering, there are 10 pages of complaints on this website, are there any success stories for returning items and getting your money back? If so, what did you have to go through? RMA process? Credit card dispute? Did they get you for the %15 restocking fee?"
"I never write reviews but I want to warn people not to do business with this company. They use false advertising, post non-existent products on the site and have sales agents that lie to clients.
I bought a Nikon D300 camera and a lens for an European friend who was coming to visit me in NY. He told me what he wanted and I looked for the best price on the internet. 1 Way photo had prices much lower than any other site and everything was supposedly in stock. So, I ordered a Nikon package that included the Nikon D300 plus the 18-200mm Nikon lens. I called the company two weeks later when the order did not arrive. They told me that the package deal is a special promo and that the camera doesn't come with the instruction booklet, cables, battery, charger and other essentials. He also said that it wasn't in stock, but the camera with all of the accesories was in stock, however, it cost $1700 plus $700 extra for the Nikon lens. I cancelled the order but called back after my husband convinced me to reinstate the order since it was in stock and our friend was now arriving the next day.
I didn't feel good about giving them the business because the site was misleading, but I called back to order the camera and lens. However, the agent informed me that there was a "newer" lens on the market with "Optical Stabilization" that would cost only $50 more than the lens I was going to order. I told him that I didn't want to change the order because I was ordering the camera for someone else. This man assured me that he uses the lens he was recommending and that it is a much better product. He made me feel like I would be crazy not to order the lens, so I said OK.
Well, The box arrived the next morning. I started to think that maybe this company wasn't so bad after all. I gave the canmera to my friend only to receive a call the next day saying that the lens wasn't a Nikon lens but a Sigma lens. I never heard of Sigma - I don't know much about camera equipment. So, I did some research on the interet and found out that the Nikon lens I wanted to order has Image Stabilization (VR - Vibration Reduction). The agent lied to me when he told me that it didn't have it. I was also upset to find out that the Sigma lens was worth much less than the $750 he charged me - the other sites sell the same lens for $399-$489.
Another note - I was charged almost $200 in handling and insurance fees. So, in essence, shipping isn't free.
When I called the company to demand the difference in price to be refunded to me, he said, "no". He told me that he sent me the lens with Optical Stabilization and that the other sites wouldn't offer that same product for such a low price. I told him that I was sure that this was the case. The other thing that I told him was that he listed a different lens on the invoice than what was actually sent. He listed a Sigma lens that is listed on the 1 Way site for $1799 - Sigma 18-200mm OS SLD DG Aspherical Autofocus lens. The lens that was sent me was the 18-200mm DC OS lens. I checked the Sigma website and it seems that the lens listed on 1 Way's site for $1799 doesn't even exist. I think they want to confuse people. It makes it impossible to do a price comparison with other resellers since the item doesn't exist.
I would've returned everything, but my friend was already using the camera. However, i don't want people to make the mistake I made. This company should be put out of business.
"
"Sounds like this company tells you what you want to here and then later you find out it was all lies. I purchased a rebel xti after I was told I was getting an updated battery and charger when all along it is the battery and charger that comes with these cameras to begin with. I was told the better charger I was getting cost $400.00 but he would give it to me at his cost of $299.00.I'm going to just keep the camera because it is going to cost to much to return ( 15% restocking fee plus shipping and handling and headaches )I will learn from this experience and be much more careful in the future and I will never repaet never use these liars and low lifes again.."
"Thank you thank you Resellersrating.com. I found the site after I placed my order with 1 Way Photo (the name says it all!) I took the time to read 10 to 15 of the reviews and was able to get an understanding of how I was going to be treated and what to expect. I waited 2 weeks without hearing anything from 1 way photo. I then called them expecting my item to be “out of stock” and sure enough it was. They then promptly canceled my order. I got off so lucky. Thank you Resellerrating.com for giving me the information I needed to keep my money."
