"After placing an order with this company, I read these terrifying reviews. I got scared! I called the company to cancel the order but got a very warm apology from the manager along with a garauntee that if anything goes wrong with my order he would throw in another camera with my purchase. That was a comforting thing to hear so I went along with it. I just gor EVERYTHING I ordered and shipped quite fast I might add. Very pleased with this company and highly recommend it. Best prices hands down! Scott was a wonderful person to deal with."
"I ordered a Nikon digital camera at a very good price from this store. When I received an email to call to verify the credit card, the guy tried to sell me some other items, never mentioning once that the camera was not in stock. I declined to buy, then received an email that the camera is out of stock 3-4 weeks. Seems like a scam to me."

EVERYONE: PLEASE READ THIS:
I am doing a follow-up here. I have been after these people since Nov when I placed an order and they screwed me on price and product. Like everyone else I got an invoice that was not detailed. When I tried to return the item I was verbally abused and told that they would keep $400 for restocking. Only after 2 weeks of calls and saying I was turning them over to the NY attorney general did they give all my money back (but they said they would hold it all until the last minute--even after i returned it) except for $120.00 that they said was for insurance. It costs me 45.00 to send package back and that included insurance. They told me they were not afraid of me, my credit card company or the attorney general. I did turn them over and finally received a letter saying they would investigate by sending 1wayphoto a letter. 1wayphoto responded to them saying they were a great company that prided themselves on service and quality products. They said that I had returned the package in terrible shape (which is not true)and that all the bad reviews about them on the net were put there by their competitors. The attorney generals office said that with that letter they could do no more. They believed these people! Please, please write the attorney generals office in NY and tell them your story. Only a ton of letters will help put these people out of business. BTW: when I told them I had stopped charges on my cc they said they would pay me but they would make me wait 15 days for a refund. They finally kept 120 for insurance. These people are crooks and for every person who gets a partial refund there are hundreds who a re just screwed. Please help to put them out of business--only your letters to the AG will help do that.
We need to get a class action suit against these people. They do bait and switch, bump up prices and send no detailed invoice (and will not provide one), they sell gray market cameras that Nikon will not work on for any reason. They use intimidation (loud yelling) and charge high restocking prices--in my case they wanted $400! When I told them I would take them to court and call my credit card company they yelled they were not afraid of me, the Attorney General, or my credit card company. They finally agreed to take the camera back but wanted $275 for shipping. Shipping is listed as FREE on their site. When I reminded them of that they said that was for the insurance. It cost me $25 in insurance to send the package back--the whole package was $45 via UPS. It has been 4 days since I returned the package and they have not credited my card as of yet.
They also keep their own reviews page posted by them with 100% satisfaction. Just look around at all the other sites and the bbb.org.
We need to stop these people now! Anyone up for a class action suit?"
"Much like a lot of others I have had an horrific experience from start to finish with this company. Stay away!!! or if you are like me and only discover the horror after your purchase I would suggest filing a complaint online with bbb.org as well as the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov. Even though the FTC does not resolve individual cases they will start an investigation if they receive enough complaints. Like others who have commented I am also planning on filing a complaint with the NY Attorney General if this is not resolved (http://www.oag.state.ny.us/contact.html)."
"Ordered Nikon D300 which they said would be in stock next week. They called to confirm order & then told me it did not come with battery or charger. After checking with many other vendors, these all come with battery and charger. I knew something was up. They also said it was a USA model, but after looking closer on their website, it states it is a Japanese model. After calling other vendors, this camera will not be available until January. I cancelled my order immediately and called my credit card company to make sure they had not been paid. Bottom line: If the price looks too good, it usually is!"
""Free Shipping and no tax" for my $1,300 Canon Camera. No mention of the $65.00 "insurance" fee (5% of sale). That is some type of first rate premium for shipping insurance. I got the camera and it is fine although ultimately it was not priced at any reduced rate. I would not recommend this seller as it took me three calls to get the order right then I get hit with and undisclosed insurance fee and on each call I was being hawked to upgrade the order."
"This is the worst shopping experience I have ever had. Basically, it's like everyone else said.
Bottom line is that they tell you to spend more money for an "upgraded package" - a bunch of sub standard merchandise (which they tell you is an awesome product). Returning the stuff is a shaft because the restocking fee is ridiculously high, so you are basically screwed."
"Unblievable.....I was scamed by 1WayPhoto....and it is remarkable at how close to the other reviews my case is....
I placed an order with Jason based upon a package deal on their website....after asking if the D40 package comes with a battery he tells me no and that he has a great deal that has my package including a 5 hour rapid charger and battery that is worth $150.....#1 the original camera package should have come with some type of battery.....I believe they open the camera box and remove the original battery.
#2 the most expensive price on any other website offering this rapid charger(exact model #) was about $50......
#3 every rep. that I got on the phone was totally rude....
Not only that but the lens was missing from the package......so after tons of yelling and fighting they rep said look....I will send out the lens free.....or send everything back and you will charged a 15% RESTOCKING FEE....
I really don't know how this place is still in business....the worst thing is that these guys are who gives us NY'ers a bad name......"
"What can I say? My experience has been HORRENDOUS and virtually IDENTICAL to many of the descriptions here. This has easily been the WORST online sales experience of my life.
I originally contacted them to purchase a Canon 40D SLR camera and a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L lens. The salesman told me that the Canon 24-70mm L lens came in two models - a cheaper one with a plastic mount (which was a lie - I later contacted Canon and they confirmed that there is only one Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L and it does not have a plastic mount) and one which has a steel mount which was hundreds of dollars more expensive. He went on to say that the lens with the steel mount is overpriced and that Sigma has a new lens that has yet to be widely released to the American public - an upgrade of their older 24-70mm Macro EX lens and retails for $1499 (another lie - there is no such 'new' or 'unreleased' lens - the ONLY Sigma 24-70mm Macro lens has an MSRP of $600 and usually sells for about $400!).
He went on to offer me a package deal on a Canon 40D, the sigma lens, 5 year warranty on both lens and camera, 5 hour battery, rapid charger and a filter kit for $2199 + shipping and cited that the "new and unreleased" Sigma lens alone was worth $1499 and that I was getting over $3000 worth of merchandise for a great deal.
Based on the information he gave me, I agreed.
I gave him my billing info and the guy charged my card. That was the end of the day on Sunday. After getting off the phone, I went on line and quickly realized something wasn't right.
When I called back the next day to cancel the order, the sales rep was rude and immediately got off the phone by connecting me with "customer service". That couldn't me more ironic. The "customer service" rep tried to talk me into putting the order on "hold" until I decided what else I wanted. I told him I simply wanted the order cancelled because I didn't feel that they were being honest with me. At that point he became insulting and rude and told me that he was going to charge me almost $400 just to cancel the order (a 15% cancellation fee). I began to explain that I only authorized the order based on information that representatives from both Sigma and Canon have confirmed is fraudulent. He then literally asked me "Why are you talking out of your ass? Huh?" At that point, I realized it was going nowhere fast so I terminated the call contacted my credit card company to proceed with a fraud/dispute claim.
Of course, Visa will not prevent the pending transaction from going through. They need to wait for the charge to post to my account at which point the dispute will commence. Realizing that this could go on for a month or longer, I decided to call back 1wayphoto.com to let them know what was happening and that Sigma already offered to put in writing they were making fraudulent claims about the product they were attempting to sell me. I told them that I was also aware of a lawsuit that is pending in the state of New Jersey based on their fraudulent business practices and they will in no way benefit from continuing to try and scam me. I told him to just "drop it and cancel the charges". So after about 5 minutes of going back and forth the guy tells me.. "Ok, I just credited your account without the charge. It's not worth it to deal with you. I sent you a confirmation email."
Well, guess what? No email. I called back AGAIN and someone else told me that it would take a day to process the credit. But after reading the feedback on this site, I'm sure that they are simply sending the gear to me anyway in hopes that I will accept the package. Obviously I will not accept the package if it arrives and will continue with my fraud claim which I am sure will be successful.
I am also filing a complaint with the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. It's not just bad customer service. It's LITERALLY a SCAM OPERATION.
You've been warned.
(It's now Nov 16, still no package and the charge is still in dispute. I am very confident I will win the dispute - but that doesn't mean that the experience was any less stressful. Again, this wasn't just bad customer service.. they are criminals imo.)"
"This is the same operation as ExpressCamera.com out of Jersey. They are all thieven BAST*&^(S.
They use the same tactic to scam me on both locations. If the price is too good then it too good to be true. We need to shut these people down... NOW....I called my credit card co and blocked all transactions today. I almost got scammed... I Yahooed oneway and got nothing.. but after I ordered I googled them and got plenty.. they even have a photo of the building in Brooklyn .. I think they are J&V Cameras dba 1wayphoto.com..... If someone know the DA we need to contact them until the break...

" DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!!!!
This store operates a classic bait and switch. They called me after I placed an order and offered to upgrade my $200.00 Canon lenses to $400.00 sigma lenses. When I received the order the Sigma lenses were they sent were only worth $75.00 each. I called and the store would not help me. They were very rude. They also charged me for shipping even though they advertise free shipping.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!!!!"
"One-Way Photo is CROOKED! Unfortunately, I have just been ripped off by this company. Approximately a month ago I proceeded to order a Canon EOS 5D camera body with a compatible Canon lens from One-Way Photo's website. A few days later I received a phone call from a salesperson who had received my order. He ignored my order and proceded to slyly sell me one of his package "deals." He talked very quickly and with a foreign accent and I had difficulty understanding. When I told him that I wanted the Canon EOS 5D Camera body with a compatible Canon lens, he offered a package with several misc. items and calculated it to be approximately $4,000. I told him that was over my budget and asked for the Canon EOS 40D camera body instead. He recalculated while quickly listing and adding little trinkets to make the deal sound good and gave me a price quote for the package to be close to $3,000. I told him that I needed to think about it and he told me that I had to decide about it right then to get the good deal he was offering me. He told me of a new lens that he was putting in the package, but did not tell me what it was. When I received the camera equipment package, the lens was a Siegma brand, not Canon as I requested. I called another representative at One-Way-Photo and told him that I was expecting a Canon lens and I questioned what kind of a deal I had received. I told him I had requested a Canon lens and that is what I wanted. He refused to listen and instead he told me that Siegma makes Canon lens and that I had received a great deal because this was a $1,500 lens. When I asked if I could exchange the lens for a Canon lens, the salesman told me that I would have to return the entire package as that is how the equipment was sold. That seemed like a huge hassle to me, so I tried the lens anyway, photographing some clients. I was not happy with the results and I decided to return the entire package as per their request. When I called to get a Return Authorization Number, the salesperson said I could just return the lens and did not have to return the camera body. The man told me that I would get a refund of $599 for the lens, and they have it listed in their catalog as costing $1,499.00. I asked about that and said that if I return the lens for $599, I have then just spent $2,400 for a Canon 40D body and they list for $1,300 in other photo stores. He told me that I did not pay $1,500 for the lens because it was a package deal, but would not tell me the breakdown cost of what I did pay for it. He began yelling at me when I informed him that I would like to return the entire package as I felt I got ripped off, and I didn't even receive what I initially ordered. He continued to yell and was incredibly rude and unprofessional, telling me he would refuse the camera package if I tried to return it and that he would ruin my business, and carried on yelling to the point that I could not understand what he was saying. He forced me to settle for a refund of the lens only for $699 and I felt that I had no choice because of the threats he had made. I am planning to report him to the BBB as well and empathize with all of the other terrible experineces listed in this review. I only wish I had seen this site before I ever filled out the order. This has been a costly ($1,000) lesson that I am extremely upset about. I will NEVER do business with One-Way Photo again and I will warn others about this crooked company as well. I only hope they will be investigated and forced to close their business to end this frustration. I was and still am COMPLETELY disatisfied with this company and have never had such an awful experience in my purchases. This company needs to be forced to shut down!

May god bless them.....
p.s. i got that 1 way photo website from shopcartusa.com"
"I canceled my order because this sites business practices are deceptive and probably border on illegal. After calling to confirm this site had a Canon EOS 40D in stock and getting a verbal confirmation they were in stock I was informed via email that they are not in stock and I will need to wait three to four weeks. It is interesting that this email came almost immediately after I called as requested to confirm my order so it could be shipped. During that call there was no mention that the camera was out of stock and I was harassed to buy overpriced accessories I did not need.
