"This is the worst company that I had the misfortune to buy from. I ordered a Bare-bone system that made it impossible to either install a single HDD in the 4 bay allocated and much less attach the SATA cable. The power supply that I ordered to ha only one SATA power connector. The Technician must be the owner of the company because he had no manager. Order no circumstance I will buy from this company nor recommend it even to my worst enemy. Keep away from it!"
"Worst memory company on the net..I had ordered two 2 Gigabyte DDR's and when i plugged them in they showed up as 1 Gigabyte. So i called them and they game me an RMA, and soon they sent another pair, BUT the same thing happened again and again. WHy 3 times i paid for the 2 Gb chips they kept sending me back 1 Gb chips? I even told them their chips were mislabeled as 2 Gb my motherboard says they were 1 Gb. SO i gave up after the 3rd shipment."
"This is the 2nd system I ordered from them. The first one worked well without a problem. This time they sent me a Gigabyte motherboard when I ordered Asus. When I contacted them they said that I now have to pay to ship it back to them and wait for a replacement. My advice, read the fine print before ordering from a company like this."
"I ordered a Barebone's PC from 1st choice memory, they have decent prices and selection, but I was a little hesitant because I never heard of them. After ordering the PC, I didnt hear anything from them for a week, just said order had been proccessed. I called on day 7, and got a live person right away, she was very friendly, and said she would have the status sent to my e-mail by the end of the day. Sure enough I recieved a confirmation message saying it had shipped out that afternoon. A week later(2 weeks total)the PC arrived and was exactly what I ordered, and everything worked."
"We ordered a motherboard/cpu combo on 03/16/11, and paid for pre-testing to ensure it worked. The product arrived defective. The motherboard was powering up fine, but clocking the cpu down to 800 MHz, even outside of an OS. We shipped the product back, paying for shipping and insurace as per their RMA policy. That was on 03/26/11. We heard absolutely nothing from them until we called on 04/13/11.
They stated we could not get a replacement motherboard from them because we forgot to ship back the 25 cent metal cover that goes over the ports, and instead the motherboard would have to be shipped to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. We complained, but were ignored. We also asked for a refund of the pre-testing and return shipping/insurance charges since their pre-testing didn't catch the defect. They stated that it could have been damaged in shipping and their policy states no refunds. The very nature of the problem could not have been caused by damage in shipping, but they refused to acknowledge this.
We've reported them to the Better Business Bureau and have since heard from them by email that they will be shipping us a new motherboard instead of waiting for it to go to the manfacturer. No word yet on our refunds, though we will keep trying."
"Some apparent truths of recent reviews:
- I had to ask them for my tracking number, which they then sent me the next day. I don't know why they don't do this in an automated way.
- FedEx Smartpost blows! That's not just this seller... never ever ever accept Fedex Smartpost shipping on anything ever. FedEx carries it to your local post office, and then the post office ships it to Indiana before it comes to you. That's typical. It's almost always slower than 1st class mail and is not accurately trackable. The worst of both worlds.
I upgraded to FedEx Ground shipping for a few bucks more and I got my built and tested barebones PC in 8 business days (ordered after hours on Monday, they shipped the following Monday, 3 days in transit). It was a great deal and everything works."
"I agree with first reviewer, I "WONT" be a returning customer, i ordered 25th of last month. Had to call 2 weeks later just to get a track number and found out my order just shipped a day prior. I will receive this week supposedly according to DHL. Its partially DHL fault also. The whole process seams pretty efficient except for 1 tiny thing. It got sorted in Chicago, sent to Wisconsin to be loaded on another truck. To be sent back to Chicago. I live 3 miles from the biggest sort facility in chicago, and about 20 minutes from the downtown facility

The lady on the phone for F/Choice was very nice. They should knock moe, larry and curly's heads together down in that warehouse though.

"One of the worst online shopping experiences I've come across in a long time. Two weeks after payment, no indication of shipment or any communication. No response to email either. Had to escalate dispute with PayPal for them to even send me a tracking number. Overall, took about 2 weeks to get the product. Terrible.
Don't listen to all the bogus 5-star reviews here, they're obviously written by 1st Choice Memory employees."
"SDRAM memory delivered on schedule. Memory chip specs are per computer manufacturer. The two 1GB chips are only recognized as 32MB and are not recognized by the computer."
"1st Choice Memory provided a easy to use interface to order and configure components that were compatable with each other. Being able to click and change memory capacity, cpu options and cooling options without having to go to each component vendors website to research compatability issues made it an easy decision to use 1st Choice Memory to purchase my computer components."
"Their selection is very good, at least for my needs so far. I did ask them for a suggestion on some RAM for a system not listed within their database. While they did e-mail me back quickly with information on a 1GB module, I decided to get the 2GB module instead. So far, it is working quite well for me."
"Bottom line: Good price, a little short on attention to detail.
I purchased laptop memory and laptop cooling pads from 1st Choice Memory because of their low price.
They never emailed me the shipping confirmation.
After emailing them about the status of my order they emailed me that my order would be split into two shipments and the shipping priority was upgraded to "two day air".
I would order from them again but I would follow up on the confirmatin email sooner than later."
"A few days after placing my order I was informed that the item was no longer available. Bummer!"
"Fast shipping, item just as advertised"
"The item I ordered from 1st Choice Memory was delivered as promised, on time. The customer service reps were courteous and helpful, but they do not take phone orders. Fortunately, their online order form is straightforward.
It would be helpful if they would allow collect shipping to customers' UPS or FedEx accounts, particularly in cases where overnight shipping is needed.
Overall, I would say 1st Choice Memory is a reliable vendor."
