false advertisement

"tried to buy a tool that i thought was a good price....after they had already sold it to me and sent conformation they then refunded my money and said they would not sell it to me at that price because they made a mistake and the price was supposed to be higher. when i emailed them to say i was going to report them i got a reply telling me i was insane and that i had a mental illness."

“That's true - we did say you are insane, because you are. But we said that in reply to your email which read - "There will be no further business from me. I will be reporting you to the Better Business Bureau for false advertisement."
Yes, the price was incorrect on the item you ordered, and we decided to cancel the order, which luckily is still our prerogative to do - we can not accept any order for any reason - even if it's just a whim.
Maybe this person is not insane, just very dumb. That's possible too. Let's clarify for anyone else... BBB is a private corporation, is has no power over any other private business.
Even if one mistakenly thought BBB is some government entity with some police powers, there would still be no way in this country where a government can force any private business to sell anything to anyone.
So yes, it sounds insane when someone says ... I will report you to BBB for not accepting my order. Absolutely insane.
Furthermore - it's not "false advertisement" to NOT sell something to someone. Clearly Jacob N from Jacksonville, IL is either a 10 year old or just mentally challenged. There is no other explanation we can think of.

Now this insane person is threatening us with "hearing from his lawyer". We believe this person does have one (just google the name - it's public info), except he probably needs a civil lawyer, not a criminal one this time. We cannot wait for a lawyer to contact us - and tell us how we need to sell this person something at the price they want us to sell it to them to. What's this lawyer charge? Because the order was for a $230 item, and you can get it for the correct price of $275 - hopefully this lawyer charges less than $45 and is able to somehow magically convince us to sell to this insane person an item for $230 which we sell for $275. Going to the supreme court we bet. What a joke. ”

“Hi Ken, the order was not short, you did order 2 filters (as well as some other items), but what may have confused you is that we shipped the 2 filters in 2 separate shipments from 2 different warehouses, with 2 different tracking numbers which we sent in 2 separate automated shipment confirmation emails. In fact we sent you 3 separate shipments for your order with various items, and they all shipped promptly (within 1 day). We also sent shipment confirmation emails for each shipment, which showed exactly what was shipped and what the tracking number was for each shipment. Not sure why we deserve a 3 out of 5 rating when we try to fill the order in the fastest way possible, making multiple shipments at our expense (you received FREE shipping). We'd appreciate a change to 5/5 stars on this review, since we went beyond what was needed to fill this order.”

Terrible Customer service

"This was my first experience with Adept. I ordered 2 items one being a crankshaft. When I received my order the end of the crankshaft was literally sticking out of the shipping box, When I opened the box there was very little packaging and multiple holes in the OEM box where the crank was bouncing around poking through the box at least 5 times! I never evened opened the OEM box as there was no point. I don't have a crank trueing jig to see if it was still in true and there was no way I was going to install this into a customers motor. I returned the Item as damaged. They still charged me 20% plus I had to pay to ship it back! When I called to complain about the charge the women was extremely rude and said they had visually inspected the part and found no damage! I then asked if they had put it in a jig and checked if it was true, She said no just a visual. I then asked to speak to a manager about this and was hung up on. Good thing they record all calls. I will try again and ask for a manager right off the bat."

“We aren't actually sure what the complaint is here. Product returned, customer refunded.

The customer requested to return the item saying in the return comments "Box arrived damaged with multiple holes". Yes, we received the item, there was absolutely no damage to the crankshaft this shop ordered. And then this customer was refunded for the return, just like any other return of an OEM Yamaha part. This person demanded we provide him "proof" of inspection, because apparently only he can tell the item was damaged and no one else is qualified.

This person's whole claim is that a brand new Yamaha engine crankshaft, that part inside the engine that takes thousands of PSI's of substantial bending and torsional moments and the resulting tensile, compressive and shear stresses for all of it's usable life, and that has ZERO visible damage is somehow invisibly damaged (it's "delicate" according to this person). And if that is the claim, why ask to return it, and not ask us to exchange it? Clearly either this person who runs a shop is either making things up or doesn't understand what a crankshaft does. We'd understand if there were scuffs, or scratches or some other visible damage, but there just wasn't.

Of course, because we've been dealing with what seem to be some of the worst Karen customers on the internet, like this one, for over 10 years, we are guessing the more likely explanation is that this shop (this is not an individual, but a shop working on his customer's bike ) decided that he doesn't need the part or that he doesn't want to replace it on this 25+ year old bike, and simply wants to avoid paying the restocking fee on OEM parts returns. Unfortunately it's a story as old as internet shopping.

If there was any damage, of course we would have gladly provided a return label (something the customer did not even ask for or select when requesting an RMA) and would have gladly replaced the item for him. Just as we do with all damaged in transit products.

Lucky for us these types of customers only make up a tiny percentage of our customers, but they do enjoy wasting as much of our time as humanly possible. Maybe instead of wasting everyone's time, Dan at Industrymoto from Moses Lake, WA should do some work on his customer's bikes. ”

Rudest customer service ever

"I, also, have never had such rude customer service. I purchased a speedometer sensor (/cable) from them. Wrote to them that it did not match my bike, admittedly later than they allow returns, explaining I hadn't worked on it til then. At first they SEEMED to care (a little), and replied. Although even that was rude, as they stated that 99.999999999% of the time "the customer is wrong," and asked me several times to send photos, said they couldn't see the OBVIOUS differences between theirs and my old one. Eventually asked if I wanted to return it. When I said yes, they became total dicks and made it clear they would not allow a return and would not count me a customer anymore. I was floored. "

“This customer received his order on April 14 2021. Then 7 months later on November 11th, 2021 decided to contact us claiming he has an issue. Yes! you read that right, 7 months later. We clearly explained to the customer that we do not accept returns after 30 days. At this point, we could have simply said - sorry, we can't help, but instead we went on to exchange 10+ emails earnestly trying to help Jack Reinhart from Montrose, MI figure out his issue. We confirmed that the part (original Honda part) was correct for his bike by checking his VIN and went through some possible issues. Of course this did not satisfy Jack, as he decided to have a tantrum, make up fake comments we never made and post a fake bad review. This was of course not because we did anything wrong - we sent him EXACTLY what he ordered, an ORIGINAL Honda part, that we sell all the time (a common item) and if he didn't want it for any reason, he could have simply returned it within 30 days.

When Jack claims we said "99.999999999% of the time "the customer is wrong," a quote or even an idea which was NEVER said or even conveyed in any email or any other communication to Jack, he actually accidentally stumbled on to the truth. Yes! customers like him, who contact us 7 months after they receive their order and demand we accept their return and then have a childish tantrum are wrong 99.9999999999% of time. In fact we'd say they are 100% wrong because our return policy is 30 days (just like most return policies everywhere).

Of course that's not what was said by us at all. The full and REAL quote in our email was (the following is copied and pasted from on of the emails exchanged) "The 2 reasons are [for "getting" the wrong part] - either the item is mislabeled from the factory, which is extremely rare and if that's the case, we'll gladly exchange the item, and the most common reason is (99.999999999% of the time) - the customer simply ordered the wrong part, not for their bike, and our website did not say it fits their bike.". This quote is 100% true, and we will repeat it to every customer if we have to. We deal with a LOT of customers who say they "got the wrong part" or usually they say we "sent the wrong part" (not true), and every time it's one of those 2 reasons, without fail.

In fact at one point we even offered for Jack to return the part (7 months later as an exception). Yes, you read that right again, we were willing to accept the return after 7 months, but something was going on in this guy's head - where he though he read something that we never said, and then he went on to make ridiculous statements and accusations at which point we cut off the conversation. Yes, there are a lot of mentally unstable people out there living "their truth".

So you decide - is anything in that email rude? or simply a fact. Either this Jack guy is a complete a-hole or he has a wild imagination, imagining he read things that were never said (this cognitive dissonance is quite common these days, as we all seem to live in our own reality and "truth"). However at our company - we actually live in actual reality, and we don't let customers like this distort reality, whether it be in a review or in an email.

We recommend any other retailer that stumbles upon this dishonest and absurd customer, does not serve him.
