"This was the 1st time I tried 39Dallor Glasses, I have used a different online store for the last 5 years. I buy online because of cost at the local optometrist. I always get progressive lenses that transition which cost a small fortune!

I was ordering 1 pair of glasses, carefully selected all my options, total just over $200. I then got an offer for a 2nd pair at 1/2 price. I decided to take advantage and selected a 2nd pair with the same options (so I thought). I accidentally selected tinted instead of transitions (not sure how, I'm very careful). The 2nd pair at 1/2 price were $99.

I got on their site and used the chat method to see what my options were. I was told I could return but it would cost 50% of the lens package + $30 for the upgrade to transitions. Then I was told 50% of the lens package is $84, wow! I paid $99 for the entire pair, the math did not add up.

I tried to discuss this with them and got nowhere. They were very condescending and handled the situation very unprofessional. I asked to speak with someone else and was connected to a manager. The manager defended the person saying all the information given me was correct. Then then offered me a much better price to return the glasses and made no apologies.

Another separate issue is delivery time. The ranges given on their site were 1-3 normally and an additional 1-4 business days or 2 to 7 business days possible. The 1st pair shipped on the 8th business day, and the 2nd pair shipped on the 10th business day. They claim quality control found multiple problems which delayed my order.

On the positive side, the glasses are great. I think the lenses are better than what I got at the other online store. There they replaced my progressive transitions for $5 when I dropped and chipped my lens 2 days after I got my glasses.

Bottom line, if you decide to order from 39Dallor Glasses, be very careful when selecting your options. After you order double check your order to make sure it's correct. Don't expect them to arrive in the time frame they suggest. Pray you glasses arrive in good shape and you don't have to suffer through their customer service.

"It took nearly two weeks to receive my order and I had to return the sunglasses for a defect in the tint. The return was a quicker process than the original order."

"Wow! I ordered glasses from the optometrist I used, as well as from $39 glasses a few days later.

The ones from $39 glasses got to me first - and I liked them much better!

"This could've been a shining review of the company, but the experience was marred by appalling customer service. I am shocked at the company's inability to listen to their customer's feedback, instead becoming defensive and resorting to snarky remarks. As I escalated my issue to make sure it was addressed, the customer service manager assured me she would update the website information (it was deceptive regarding their shipping policy). It's been nearly a month and no changes. Customer service utterly ruined this experience.

Background: I ordered a pair of prescription lenses for my own frames, which were shipped to the warehouse for processing.

Return shipping is free for purchases over $99, but they do not cover shipping fees to the factory.

The good:
The website was easy to navigate when I needed to order my lenses. The ordering process was straightforward -- fill out the information on your Rx, list any customized requests, and payment. There is an account portal that you can use to track your orders (although they send you email notifications with the same information anyway).

The bad:
I don't know if I chanced upon a bad egg, but the chat representative I talked to was infuriating. I had a question regarding the shipping time of my purchase, and asked to check how long it would take to receive the product. Looking on the FAQ of the website, I found the following:

"Prior to shipping, your order is custom made in our Long Island, NY laboratory to your exact prescription and PD measurement. Over 95% of all orders ship within 1-3 business days. For some higher prescriptions and multifocals (progressives and bifocals) it may take up to an additional 1-4 business days to process your order. "

My prescription was quite regular, with no progressive/bifocals. Their shipping policy in the FAQ shows that it should get processed in 1-3 days. This matched the information given to me by a customer service agent on a phone call I made prior to ordering.

When I brought up this information to the chat agent, he became highly defensive, retorting multiple times "it is in our terms/you agreed to the terms". Ok, but it doesn't match the information presented on the website. I made to point out that they should update their shipping information so as not to be confusing to potential customers. The shipping speed is 7-10 business days or even longer for lensing of your own frames. This was not stated anywhere on the site, and I advised them to make sure it is listed into the Shipping Time FAQ section (after all -- that's why we go read the FAQ to find out this info).

Obviously the chat agent didn't care for the feedback. I stated that I found the website information unclear about shipping, as there is conflicting information. I got back "it is clear". When I stated that there could be room for improvement, they stated back, "well we didn't guarantee anything". Really? Not so much as taking a grain of responsibility for what is clearly available on your website's information!!

Did not listen at ALL to the input I was giving. Infuriating snarky remarks. When I escalated to the customer service manager, there was no backtracking of her agent's rude behavior. And up to this point, nothing has changed even though they said they would update their information.

Disgusting experience.

You better hope there is no issue or questions you have about your order because the customer service is not available to help.

"I had new lenses put into my old frames and am very satisfied. My only complaint was that the mailing instructions on the web site did not clearly indicate that the US postal service has a fixed price box which should be used for mailing. I had mailed another pair of old frames not in a box and for more money and they were destroyed by the USPS. To its credit 39 called me and told me the problem and advised me about the box. "

"There are cheaper sources of glasses, but I am finding 39Dollar Glasses to be my favorite source for balancing good value, for high quality frames and lenses, easy to use website, and fast service with results that rival the brick and mortar, price gouging, local glasses shops. They have nailed my script each time, sometimes I think better than the pricey local shop, and certainly faster than the local shop, which seems ironic. I am crushed by the price of a single pair of glasses at the local shop, which feels like they are taking advantage of the handicapped. At 39Dollar glasses, I can have fun buying several pair. I also like the virtual try-on feature. I am a very happy customer!"
