"My journey throughout 42nd street photo has been nothing less than the symphony of the service excellence. Recently I bought the Panasonic HC-X2 4K Camcorder and well-structured layout of the website let me have a look at the features and recognize my choice.
Not only were the customer service representatives informative but patient with my questions, their commitment to a smooth buying experience was prevalent during each contact. It's a rare achievement for a company to feature an easy to navigate website, fast order fulfilment and first rate customer support.
I'll always check with 42ndphoto.com when in the market for Photo-Audio-Video products!

"I wanted to gift myself a Christmas present and the staff at 42PHOTO helped me narrow down my choices to this great camera! Guidance and insights on Live Chat was clear, efficient and polite. No nonsense retailer! "
"BAIT & SWITCH!! This company should be criminally prosecuted! They are liars, cheats and thieves. Don’t believe any positive reviews, they are all planted by the company. I ordered a lens at one price and when it arrived it was $500 more. I called the company to complain and they hug up on me and I. Don’t buy anything from them. You’ll be sorry"
"I placed an order for a Canon EOS 5D *********** DSL Camera with 42nd St Photo on 11/23/2022. The advertised price was $1529 whereas I was told that it is for an Import Model and with different video system. I will need to pay $1,999 if I want a domestic model. I agreed since I needed the camera urgently. Immediately after the call, I was going through some reviews of this store and came to know that there is no difference between these models technically and they are the same. The camera offers both PAL and NTSC options. The import models do not have Canon warranty. I should have done this research earlier. I did see that this store has decent ratings and did not go into the details to see that many other customers had the exact same experience. Within 30 mins of my call with the agent, I called them back and asked them to cancel the order. They declined. I would now like to get the excess amount $470 ($1,999-$1529) back from them. They had also promised 5 years Extended Warranty (refer order) whereas they have sent 3 year Warranty. I have tried calling them without any response."
"Sent me a bad or incompatible SDXC card for a $3,700 video camera I bought from them in same order - was on a shoot and that nearly screwed me. They wouldn't pay me for the return shipping and they also didn't refund a percentage for the $287 overnight shipping. Then, they slightly shorted me on the cost refund... Just shady stuff... the big guys I usually go to happened to be closed for the holidays. Stay clear of 42nd... "
"BEWARE!!! Sells gray market Canon products. Can not be registered for Canon warranty. If you buy online he will call you the next day and ask if you know that you are buying an international model. Of course you don't because nowhere on his website does it say that. Will offer you a US model for a couple hundred more dollars. If you are dumb enough to agree (smh) he still sends you the gray model that can't be registered with Canon. He throws in a useless extended warranty from a company that gets worse reviews than he does. He has a line of BS a mile long. I imagine he has been getting away with this for a long time. BEWARE!!!"
"DANGER! This company has hidden scam practices, very careful, it sells used items like new and if you want to return them they charge you 20% of the total. The shipment is set in 6 days and can take weeks without preventing it even though it has already been charged to your card"
"Called them to make sure the the Canon 600/4 II is in stock. The sales person was extremely rude and said "he doesn't have time" to deal with me, he's absolutely not doing to check if it's in stock, and I should just place an order and wait. Apparently the company doesn't want my $10k. Well, that's ok, I can live with it."
"Bought a Canon 90D from them. By mistake I ordered the international version which I didn't want. They emailed to verify international version and I called them (at their request) and they changed the order from international to USA warranty (+$100, not disputed) which I wanted. Here's the lie: I was told the camera would not function with standard SD cards and they offered, and I bought, an SDXC, UHS II, 350Mbps, card they suggested ($199.99). When I received the camera and card I checked the camera owner's manual and it will function just fine with standard SDXC, Class 10, 95Mbps, as long as you're not shooting 4K video or excessively long bursts of 10fps single frames. I emailed and called them asking them if I could return the unopened, NIB, SDXC, UHS II, 350Mbps, card. When they returned my call they told me there is a law (truth/lie?) preventing them from accepting a return of even unused memory card products and that their store policy prohibits it. I was never told the memory card was not returnable when their representative was on the phone with me before they shipped. Andy did not care that I would find a new place to do business when I informed him of my not knowing the return policy before buying. What did they care, they had my $200. Let the buyer beware. These guys deal in half-truths and will do and say anything to get and keep your money. I would not do business with them again if they were the last camera shop on Earth."
"They prominently displayed an ad for a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera body for $2149 - an extremely low price. They accepted orders, then sent out an email later saying they had "oversold" the camera, but expected to deliver in 4-6 weeks. 12 weeks later, they have not updated the status on my order - "backordered" - and have not responded to multiple messages to their customer support.
I wonder if they ever delivered on any of the orders they accepted? Maybe this was just a "click-bait"-type deal to increase their website traffic numbers?
Who knows - I just know I won't try to deal with these characters again."
"For an upcoming trip, our tour operator suggested this particular camera as a good balance between simple point&shoot cameras and getting quality pictures. I searched online and found that 42nd St Photo had much better prices than even Amazon. Their website was easy to navigate and the whole experience was 1-2-3. I also ordered extra batteries and hi-capacity SD cards. And, like Amazon, when they promise delivery in, say, 7-10 days, your stuff comes much sooner - and it did. I have milestone celebrations coming up for some of our grandkids and I'll definitely be returning to their site for appropriate gifts."
"I had a problem with an order the general manager contacted me and resolved it, I am very pleased and will continue to shop with them in the future

"I found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to answer any questions I had about my order. Prices of the items were competitive. My items were shipped and received on time. Would recommend to anyone looking to purchase a new camera."
"No fuss, just excellent service, made sure I had what I needed for the camera. Competitive price. Shipped it fast."
