"Beware of this dealer! Hidden in their web pages where you will not see it (not on the pages you see in making a purchase) is the following: "All items purchased through the Site are shipped via a third party common carrier. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon delivery to the carrier." They do not offer the possibility of purchasing insurance. When a book I ordered, of course without seeing their policy (which is they way they want it), costing over $90 never arrived, they told me it was my loss for which they had no responsbility. They sent me a tracking number for a date different from the date they claimed the book shipped. There is no reason to believe they ever shipped the book, just took my money immediately. Fortunately, my credit card company removed the charge from my account and debited A1 books when I told them about their business practices, which the person I spoke to at my credit card company considered unethical and possibly deliberately dishonest. But other purchasers may not be so lucky. If you buy from them, you may get nothing and lose your money.

"I have had the same experience as all the other "very dissatisfied" customers for A1books or A1techbooks. I ordered my book and was charged immediately, yet I have not received the book yet. However, the most frustrating part about this experience is the fact that they are very hard to get an email response from and they do not have a listed phone number... until now. I found this number off of another ratings web site from another dissatisfied customer... ***-***-****. Currently the number leads me to an answering machine for A1books but believe me I'll continue to call them and so should you. Hope this helps."
"They processed everything seemingly correctly but speed was rather slow. I placed order on 1/25, they got around to shipping it 1/28. I received the book 14 days later on 2/10, which is kinda funny since I live relatively close to New York and 14 days is the "maximum" shipment time for media mail.
The thing is if you look at their site they are something like a warehouse and dont handle retail.(you buy their books from other sites) So why can't they do their processing/shipping faster/better?"
"Ordered book on january 7, 2005. The company claims to have shipped my book on January 10, 2005 but it is now January 25 and I have not received my book. The company has also charged my credit card immediately. Without any customer service numbers, I am very suspicious of this company. "

"I will never, ever, ever, purchase a book from this site again. I purchased three items from Amazon.com to be sent to my daughter in LA (I'm in PA) and she received the other two promptly. She never received the book from A1. I have corresponded with A1 five times (the fifth being today, 11/7) and asked them to refund my money (first e-mail to them on 9/1). Basically, they give you the runaround with e-mails that don't answer the question, probably in hopes that you'll give up. Maybe the book was only $15.50 or something, but it is the principle - this is bad business and customers do not deserve this service. As a matter of fact, since they are based out of New Jersey, I'll be contacting the NJ Better Business Bureau. So, buyer - BEWARE."

They didn't even let me know that it would ship late, and although I ordered on the 4th, they didn't even ship until the 20th!!! It took over three weeks to arrive! "I am a mature adult who returned to college to obtain an additional degree in business administration. I placed an order for a textbook August 21, 2004. As of October 1, 2004, have not received the book, however, the payment was withdraw from my bank account within two days of order placement. Company contact is by email only and is time consuming. Customer service has replied to some of my emails, giving excuse #1: shipped, but lost in post office system, and the las one, #2: very busy. The order of the excuses leads me to believe that they "took my money and ran." Told me they would be happy to refund my money upon return of the book (difficult to do since I haven't received it). I will never do business with them again and have filed a complaint with the BBB."

They never sent it and never responded to emails. Half.com reported that this seller reported refunding my credit card which never happened. I charge backed the 90 dollars the book cost and this seller fraudulently said they had already refunded me. I provided half.com billing statements showing that this never happened but they still expelled me. Beware this seller. Go look at their reviews on amazon for thousands of negatives. They also change their name to A1-books, A1 tech Books, A1 computer books, watch out, they arew a NJ company, check for the address before buying A1 anything."
