Third TV Purchase

"All three of my major television purchases have been through AbesofMaine. Cost on Abes twas lowest on previous BF deals and tends to be the lowest of any competing website [this time in June instead of November]. The televisions are factory fresh, and come with a free wall mounts, so you gain some extra coin if you're not wanting to purchase a separate wall mount."

I highly recommend Abe's of Maine

"I highly recommend Abe's of Maine. Quick and easy to order online. A representative of Abe's called me the very next day, asked me if I knew the difference between two different lens. He explained the good and not so good between them. He recommended the higher priced one as it has a warranty. I didn't want to spend more at this time. He then applied a coupon, it was still more than I wanted to spend,he then put me on hold came back and gave me the upgraded lens w/warranty for the same price as the cheaper model. Abe's certainly went above and beyond to make this customer very happy. I highly recommend Abe's of Maine. It's my new place to shop for sure!!"

Advertise a product then try to scam you into paying more AFTER you place the order.

"I ordered 14x 75" Samsung TVs and 1x 85" Samsung TV.

This is for a project we are working on at my company.

All items were shown IN STOCK.

I got an email to call and complete my order.

The 85" is not in stock and they cannot get it.

Fine. I get that part.

Then they want to tell me that they can't sell the 75" models to me at the price they advertised and that I ordered, and they will be $500 more each!

That is fraudulent advertising and completely dishonest practice.

STAY AWAY!!!!

once again bait and switch - HORRIBLE

"They advertise on the internet a TV for price X. You click it out and they send you an invoice saying to wait 3 days. Then, 3 days later, you get an email asking to call them. The sales guy gives a phony story about 2 version of the TV (same make and model number), and tell you that the price for the one you want is X+++.

It's a SCAM, and they should be shut down. ABE'S of MAINE are LIARS

"I ordered a LD 3D OLED tv from their website figuring it would be a waste of time and sure enough it was. They tried to tell me i ordered a European model and naturally they had the US model in stock for more money. Never again will i waste my time with them. I should have known better. So now they are selling European models on their website? LMAO"

Bait and switch!!!

"Read the negative reviews....but went ahead anyway. Big mistake. DO NOT USE this company. They are what every negative review says on here. Planned to buy 65 inch 4K TV. They call and ask if I want the China made or Mexico made (8 bit vs. 10 Bit) if I wanted the one as advertised it would cost $500 more. I cancelled my order immediately and contacted my credit card to flag the transaction as soon as I got of the phone. They are crooks plain and simple. Don't waist your time. You will not get what you are looking for for the price advertised."

Indeed a bait and switch scamhouse...grrrr!!

"Searched for a Cyber Monday deal, had a great deal from Am@zon, then happened on AbesOfMaine selling for 800 less. I lived in NJ for a while and remembered the local ads from the brick and mortar store. Don't recall specifically if I ever stopped by (10+ years ago). So based on brand name recognition, I pulled the trigger. Received an email the next day as it was 10pm PST that I placed the order, from Jeff asking me to call to confirm. Knowing the bait and switch routine, I still could not believe the brand name would do this.... exchanged few pleasantries.
Jeff: Just wanted to confirm you want the International model?
Me: Why would I order the international model, and have it shipped to Los Angeles?
Jeff: The website clearly states it is a 240V, and I wanted to confirm that is what you wanted before I charge your card.
(At least *courteous* enough not to charge it right away)
Me: I do not recall seeing the 240V (to myself, why would I even be vigilant for 240V on a US website...at least warn me that it is an international model...ffs)
Jeff: Well this is the international model, I can give you the the US model for $500 more.
Utterly disappointed, I wanted no more of this.
Me: No, please cancel, do not charge my card, and confirm you will not charge me any cancellation fees, and you are being recorded. (At this point I had already activated my call recording app :)
Jeff: I will not charge your card, no fees, good bye.

Bad taste in mouth, plus I lost the deal on Amazon.

Deceitful New Leaf Extended Warranty Contracts sold by Abe

"I would NEVER purchase another TV from Abe of Maine, but if you ignore this advise and insist on buying from them, here's some valuable advise.

DON"T BUY THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM NEW LEAF!

Read the terms carefully. The following clause in the their terms will void any hope of getting them to repair OR replace your TV after a couple years into the warranty because TV manufacturers stop making the parts:

"Should repair parts become unavailable because a manufacturer has gone out of business or if a manufacturer no longer provides product support and all parts sources have been exhausted during the coverage period of this Plan, the Administrator/Obligor shall be excused from performance hereunder and you shall receive a full refund of the purchase price paid by you for the Plan less claims paid, if any. Replacement products may be new or rebuilt products. In no event shall the Administrator/Obligor be liable for any damages as a result of the unavailability of repair parts."

I filed a claim and was told "parts unavailable" even though nobody from New Leaf even inspected the TV. Obviously they can claim this issue any time the repair exceeds the cost of giving you back the money you paid for the warranty. IT'S WORTHLESS. How are you suppose to contest their dishonesty?

I called Abe Customer Service and they insisted I should be given a replacement TV by New Leaf but if not "threaten to sue them"!!! They didn't offer any other assistance. Is this the kind of Customer Service you want if you purchase a product from Abe?

So DON"T TRUST ABE an it's New Leaf partner is the result of this debacle.

Feels like FRAUD, don't you think?

You still really want to give them your business?

DO NOT BUY FROM ABES OF MAINE!!!!! STAY AWAY

"ABES of Maine USED to be a decent company. But they have changed to a 'bait and switch' company. Being a 74 yr old disabled person, I ordered a Nikon P900 camera on their website offered for $535; I had a $10 coupon which brought it down to $525. I was happy. Next day 'Jeff' calls to 'verify' and first tells me the camera only comes with a 30-minute battery but he has this great promotion that he will give me two Nikon batteries for $75. I call back to confirm about the batteries, and THIS time he tells me that the camera comes with NO BATTERY! However, on the website, it clearly states Nikon En-EL23 batter (included). And the 2 batteries he is sending is 1 Nikon and 1 Bower ($14 on Bower's website)!! Oh yeah.. He brought my orig order of $525 up to $604!!! I asked to cancel the order; he said it's already being processed. I called Customer Service, Jason. He said it's already shipped, so he couldn't cancel. I discussed the battery situation; he said 'well, that's a type error on the website'.. THERE IS NO BATTERY INCLUDED!!! What has happened to this company? I talked with him for 1 LONG hour, telling him how upset I was and all I wanted was the camera with battery included, that I initially ordered for $525. I said I would gladly send him the Bower battery back; he said he's losing money because they sent it UPS. I DID NOT ASK NOR WANT THIS UPS... I asked to be able to return the package what should arrives, minus the 15% restocking fee because of their misrepresentation of the product; said he couldn't do that !! He had an answer for everything.. I asked for him to contact UPS and cancel; he said he couldn't as it would cost them more money (I checked afterwards and UPS hadn't picked it up yet!!!!). I said fine, when it arrives I will get a RMA from you and return at your expense (as Jeff had said), and that I would reimbursed every penny. And Jason says, oh no... You pay return shipping and 15% restocking fee. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY... THEY ARE MISREPRESENTING THEIR PRODUCT.. and then saying it's a typo error on the website specifications of the product. And I agree with the other review... Those 4/5 star reviews are being made up by their friends/family/whatever.

DONT GET CAUGHT UP IN THIS HORRIBLE EXCUSE OF A COMPANY!! FYI .. They are no longer even Abe's of Maine .. Maine kicked them out and they are now under a different name in New Jersey! Scammers!!!

Great Service- Great Price!

"I have been shopping for a camera for over a year. I knew I wanted a Canon SLR because my wife has one. We have multiple lenses. The question was price and where to buy it. My internet searching found the best price at Abe's of Maine. I called first to ask questions about the camera I wanted. I spoke to Jeff who answered all of my questions.
I placed the order online and called back to ask about shipping. Again I spoke to Jeff, he was very nice to me and patient. I would definitely recommend Abe's of Maine and Jeff to family and friends.
