"Everyone please be ware that Abes are scammers.
Try getting a TV from them (which will be approximately $300 cheaper than elsewhere). Next day you will receive a phone call from them saying that this is a "commercial" version and the "retail" version will cost you "just $300 extra - great deal!!", the "free" mount wont fit and the one that will will cost you another $100. You get the idea. Decide for yourself if you want to do any business with them."

"Ordered a imported lens, the price was good (saved more than $100) and I was ok with no warranty. Abe's salesperson called me and said I could order the USA Lens for a little less than $75 increase. Using a credit card that doubles a manufacturers warranty, I decide I would do it. They increased the price of the lens on the order, but did not change the part number. A white box showed up in the mail (imported lens), so now I'm waiting to see how they respond to their error.

Talked to Frank in Customer Service, they offered me the option to exchange, return the lens, except a 3 year warranty, or refund the difference between the import cost and the USA cost. I accepted the refund, which is what I originally wanted to do. Given the outcome, I would consider Abe's of Maine as a possible source for a future need.

They shipped it quickly.
It arrived well packed.
The product works as intended.

Update 24 hours later.... No credit posted to my credit card. Promised to credit me after the phone call. I sent a reminder yesterday afternoon to Frank in customer service.

"I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from Jeff Stevens concerning my Canon Lens order from Abe's of Maine. He double checked that it was the right lens for my camera. He also corrected that I didn't check to receive speedier delivery at no extra cost.
I was quite upset placing the order since the lens stopped working just after my Canon warrantee ran out. I also have a PO Box problem on package deliveries so he also corrected that problem.
