"Got a call on Sunday telling it will take time for delivery due to blizzard and would be better to shell $99 more and do a white glove to protect TV else LED will come broken. The explanation seemed as if buy this else be assured of a broken product as this is common in US. The price was higher than some other stores in nearby areas but their site mentioned 56 days delivery and on call was tole 2-3 weeks. I was referred from a friend and now am disappointed in the service. I hope the first impression could have been better than this and ended up cancelling the order."

"For me it is always a very frustrating and tiresome job to find the right thing I need on online shopping websites and with a reasonable offer price. There are so many shopping sites I know that are full of product reviews which are not 1% genuine. I have been looking for Canon 5DIII which is a full frame SLR for a while now and I was not able to get that model camera anywhere in nearby gadget stores. So I searched hours and hours online for genuine and quality service shopping websites until I came across Abe’s of Maine. This website is simply great. Their offer price, their quick customer service, their free shipping, genuine reviews, product details, demo video, overnight shipping and on and on is excellent. And I say that with full confidence because that website includes everything which a customer like me needs to evaluate before spending my hard earned money.
Anyways I ordered the Canon 5DIII from Abe’s of Maine with overnight shipping on a Wednesday because I needed it soon. And I got the camera UPS in an overnight on Thursday at 9:30 AM. And I tell you I was way impressed with their so fast service as in the past I have ordered many products like printer, camera, Video player etc from various shopping sites but I never got this impressed. The camera was is superb condition even at such good price offer.
It is not usual that I give reviews which are more than 4 stars but the service and the whole customer friendly content of this site made me. And I plan on continuing to buy products from Abe’s of Maine and I would recommend this to all who are tired of shopping sites which are total fake and not worth your money.
Lastly, thank you so much Abe’s of Maine for making a customer like me totally happy.

I would STRONGLY recommend that you do not buy from Abe's of Maine. I attempted to buy a 60" flat screen TV from them and after 8 days of hell I had to cancel (and order from one of their competitors) because they still hadn't shipped it and said it would be a 'few more days'.
Here are the details of the failed transaction if you are interested:
Sunday 2013-01-27 13:26:12: Placed the order on their website. Received a confirmation email that states 'Please allow 1-3 days processing time for your order'
Wednesday 2013-01-30: On this afternoon, the third business day after I placed the order I get a call from their representative under the guise that he wants to confirm that I was the one that placed the order and no one else was using my credit card. If that was the end of the conversation it would have been fine but he proceeded to try to extort $199 out of me for white glove treatment and wasting 15 minutes of my time doing it. He said that although I already selected the free shipping that they 'do not recommend it'. After getting off the phone with them I sent them an email demanding that they ship the TV and send me a tracking number within the next 24 hours.
Thursday 2013-01-30: Received an email back from them stating 'We are trying to process your order however your bank needs you to contact them to authorize the charge. Once you speak to your bank please contact me via email or call me at at so that we can ship out your order.' Within 45 minutes I had emailed Abe's back notifying them that I have verified the charge with my bank as valid.
Saturday 2013-02-02: Called and left a voice mail message for them as well as sending an email that said ' I just left you a voice mail message; this still doesn't show shipped on the website and you still haven't provided any tracking number. My patience with you/your company is running very thin. I know you are CLOSED today and tomorrow but I expect a call first thing Monday morning with an explanation. Thanks.'
Sunday 2013-02-03: Received an email from them that said 'Thank you very much for shopping with Abe's Of Maine, I was out sick. We do apologize for any inconvenience. Did you want to cancel this order?'. I replied within 15 minutes and said 'Not if you will ship it on Monday. Please let me know.'
Monday 2013-02-04: Received an email from then that said 'Thank you very much for your response. It wont be shipping out for a few days. Would you like me to cancel the order and process a credit?'
I had had enough of their games. I sent them back a note that said 'So 2 hours before you quit for the day you send this message so I have no chance whatsoever to get this resolved without waiting another day. Why in the world would it take ANOTHER few days after you have charged my card and had the order for over a week. Your customer service is pathetic. You couldn't pick up the phone and call?
CANCEL THE ORDER and process the credit. I will be reporting your firm to the BBB and writing a scathing review or two on the most widely used public websites.'
I don't know if this qualifies as a scathing review; but I do know these are the facts. If you do business with this company you do so at your own risk.

Thursday 2013-02-07: I was contacted by David.V.Mosseri a Vice President of the company and asked what he could do to make me a satisfied customer. He explained that there were two issues that contributed to all of the problems I had with the order; 1) their inventory system showed the TV in stock when it actually wasn't 2) their staff didn't follow thier policy to notify the customer of such (rather hid the fact from me while searching for the TV). In order to make it up to me David agreed to pay me the difference in price between what I bought the TV for from his competitor (which was higher).
In light of this effort to make things right; I will no hesitate to give Abe's a try for my next online order.

"Do NOT use. Placed an order for a television that the website said was in stock. Couple days later got a call from Larry, a customer service rep. When we called back, we got tremendous pressure to buy insurance, cables, etc. We had already signed up for "white glove" delivery, but they still tried to sell us insurance that would cover the costs of return shipment if the TV was damaged on the way to us. Total rip-off. We declined all of these repeatedly. Finally we asked when it would be shipped. He said 1-2 weeks and slammed down the phone. We then got a call from our credit card fraud department and (thankfully) had declined the charge because they had too many issues with them. We then got a call from someone else at customer service apologizing that sometimes the sales people get too pushy and if we would just clear up the credit card rejection, they would ship it out right away and throw in some cables for free. We declined and now I have ordered elsewhere. Unfortunately, it appears that was is said out there is true. Abes was not trustworthy. I will never use them again."
