"I ordered a refrigerator from ABT with "white glove" delivery, including placement of the appliance into my kitchen and disposal of the shipping carton. Because the shipping company failed to call me in a timely manner after they received my refrigerator, I had to call them twice on my own to schedule my own delivery. When the shippers finally arrived, they failed to recognize that I had ordered white glove delivery and were intending to leave my refrigerator outdoors on my sidewalk, until I asked them to call to verify that I had paid for them to bring it indoors. Then to my absolute horror, the shippers cut the carton off the front of the refrigerator with a razor blade that penetrated the cardboard and scratched up the door! I had to refuse delivery because of the damage, then when I called ABT to order a replacement, the item was no longer in stock. Because I needed a refrigerator, I tried to secure a refund so that I could order from another retailer that had the item in stock, but ABT's representative told me it would take two weeks to process a refund. I objected to ABT tying up my money for two weeks when it was their shipper that damaged my appliance and they could not replace it, but ABT's customer service representative harshly reprimanded me for being ignorant. The ABT representative later called me back to apologize for his rudeness to me and took steps to speed up the refund. Despite my somewhat happy ending, my ordering, shipping , and customer service experiences with ABT were very traumatic, and I do not plan to purchase another major appliance from them ever again."
