"Website listed a camera and does not mention the item is refurbished. I call to verify my order and the sales guy tried to sell me accessories. I declined and the sales person then told me the camera I was buying was refurbished and a new model was $100.00 more."
"I originally called to buy a camera. On the phone call to make the order, they told me about some accessories for the camera, lense tube adapter, filters, batteries, etc. I had no intention of buying the add-ons, but they sounded like a good idea. One add-on was the adapter tube to my camera. When it came it did not properly fit the camera. It was an off-brand. I told them that I felt it was not appropriate for my camera especially since it was made for the Canon A95 and I bought the A85. They told me to send it back because it was probably deffective. I told them that I didn't think so, it was a sturdy metal tube with no flaws. They sent an identical second one and it also didn't work properly. I bought the proper tube at a local camera store. Then, they sold me an extended warranty. I bought it back in January of '05. They said they were going to send me a warranty card in 60-90 days. I never received anything, no card, no paperwork, nothing that proves I have this warranty. I called them about a month aga and they said they would send something out immediately. I never received anything and to this day I have nothing. Add to all of this, they are terrible at customer service. You can be in the middle of a sentence and they put you on hold without warning. They are curt and in some of my conversations with them they have been combative and rude. I will never use them again, and I highly warn anyone that my experience with them tells me that they are not a quality organization that stands behind what they do. "
"Horrible Customer Service. I called them about an order that I had placed, which was cancelled because they were out of stock. When I ordered, they told me they were in stock and would ship out the same day. Did not get any emails from them and when I called, the man made up a sorry ass excuse, said he didn't know why, and hung up after I asked why I wasn't contacted about the cancelled order. Someone should report this company to BBB about their business strategies. Horrible."
"This company is exactly like the other reviews have stated. I thought i made a purchase on-line, a high pressure, Brooklyn sounding man called me telling me that nothing was included w/ the camera. Tried to get me to upgrade, when I refused - he said your order is cancelled. I am very concerned that this company has my credit card information. This company is a scam!!!!!!!!
Please don't make the same mistake...don't buy from them!!!!!"
"This company is a fraud. I bought a camcorder from it and when i called to confirm the shipping status, they said they cancelled the order without noticing me at all! The customer service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! Hangs up on customer! I think they just want to steal customer's credit card numbers."
"Gullible: my approx $300 camera turned into an $850 order once their "customer service" rep named Sam "explained" things to me. Extra battery, memory card and DX7590 warrantee (Kodak) were not needed but I bought them based on his advice.
I later tried to cancel the warrantee but was told that company policy prevented that - company policy was not explained at time of purchase.
My experience is that two out of three "customer service" reps are extremely uncooperative and hang up without giving me information.
They offer good prices, but if you're gullible, stay away."
"When the order is placed online, the page tells you to call a (866) number to confirm the order. Which I did. It wasn't just a confirmation; it was an attempt to upsell. There's nothing wrong with high-pressure sales tactic, even though I don't like them.
What is wrong is when, after turning down offers for filters and memory upgrades, I asked to have the order I placed online shipped at the price I had. The salesman came up with another upgrade offer. I said that I cancelled the order and that...
Me: Our business relationship is terminated.
Him: We'll see about that.
Me: What? Now you threaten me?
Him: Yes.
THAT I find completely unacceptable.
After hanging up, the same person called back in less than a minute. He asked if the original order was to be confirmed and shipped. I told him the order was cancelled, remember? He sounded surprised, and asked why was the order cancelled? I started to wonder if it was another representative calling, so started to tell him that it hadn't been possible to have the previous representative simply confirm and ship the order, but he cut me short and said "okay, okay, fine" and hung up. I am now pretty sure it was the same person trying again to close the sale.
I am staying well away from this store."
"Well I could copy and paste what Raven typed below and that would sum up my experience to a T. I even tried calling back to see what different reps would say when I checked on my order. They all pulled the same spiel "Did you buy any accessories with your camera? OH! Well it's on backorder for 6-8 weeks!" They would then promptly hang up on me. I cancelled and ordered from Digital1234.com and got my camera within a week for only an extra $20. DO NOT shop with these guys, scammers, rude and not worth saving a couple of dollars to deal with."
"i received exactly what i ordered for exact price. i called the service because of problem with camera 2nd battery. response was very pleasant and exceptionally considerate. i will shop here again. i recommend this site!
"
"Unfortunately I found this site after making my purchase. Similar to others I received a call under the pretense they were validating my credit card information. Instead it was a hard sale for their accessories. I was called at work and in a rush for a meeting reluctantly agreed to purchase an extra battery for the Kodak DX7630. I immediately regretted this as it was easy to discover that the battery was overpriced by at least $30. In addition, upon receiving the camera, it appears to be refurnished in lieu of new as advertised on their site. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid this vendor as they are clearly crooks."
"Same OLD story again . . . these people are definitely shysters, scammers and outright liars. I was camera shopping online and came upon Accessoriesland.com. They had the lowest price for the KM Dimage A2. Many other sites had good prices as well, but were selling refurbed units. So I called to ask just what it meant to be refurbed. I was told that it meant the camera had been serviced. He then told me that this was a brand new USA model A2 right from Konica-Minolta. I said this is a very good price and said I would like to order it. This was on a Wednesday. Then the hard sell for a battery that is usually $199 for $89.00 because the one with the camera didn’t have very much capacity. Well, I thought he was exaggerating the batt life but a spare would be a good idea anyway and this one had double the capacity of the original. Then he suggested I get a 3 piece filter kit, which I declined. Then he recommended the 3 or 5 year extended warranty from Konica-Minolta, I accepted the 5 year. Then he came back to the 3 piece filter kit and came way down on the price, so like the moron that I am I accepted. He then said that because I was a first time customer he would throw in a tripod and lens cleaning kit at no charge. WOW! What a deal! Camera $465, accessories $403.
The really big mistake I made was not carefully researching this merchant. I have had such good luck ordering on the web with so few problems (minor) over the years that I guess I got lax. After ordering I started reading the reviews for this merchant. They were almost universally negative. I got very nervous about my order. I called on Friday (ordered on Wed.) and asked for the order status. I was asked if I had ordered any accessories, yes, I was told that the order had shipped. I asked for the tracking number and he said call him after 8pm and he would have it for me. I called after 8 and asked for the tracking number. Again, I was asked if I had ordered any accessories, yes I said. He said, would you call me Monday morning for the tracking number; I’ll have it for you then, ok I said. I called Monday morning. Again, I was asked if I had ordered any accessories, yes, I did. He informed me that the items had arrived and would ship that day (after already been told that they had already shipped). He said I Promise that you will receive your order on Wednesday. Still no tracking number. Again I said ok. I called Tuesday to get the tracking number. Did I order accessories, yes I did. The truck was on its way to DHL and I would receive my order Wednesday by 3pm, he promised. Still no tracking number. I called Wednesday, I got the tracking number. The order arrived at 3:22pm. I will add that they were never rude to me, in a hurry and disorganized to be sure, but not rude and never cursed. I’m a very calm person and never got angry with them (and I ordered accessories) so maybe that’s the reason.
This is what I received: there was no Itemized invoice, just a total of $868.00 for the camera and the other items were on the invoice with a zero price. The camera was not in an original factory box but came in a plain white box with a photocopy of the camera and model number on the box. It had the entire factory included accessories, manuals, software and NO warranty card. I am sure this is a refurbished or grey good model. The "$199.00" battery was actually a cheap generic knock off with the same capacity as the one supplied with the camera. The 3 piece filter kit was for a 52 mm thread and the camera is 49mm, so they supplied a 49 to 52mm adaptor. I did also receive the NC tripod and lens cleaning kit. There was a notice sticker on the invoice about the extended warranty, no paper work, terms etc. The notice stated “An extended warranty has been registered for your product. A warranty registration card will be mailed to you within 30-90 days. If you don’t receive it please contact the dealer”. What if the camera fails within that period, what are you supposed to do?
This whole affair is such a shame and has left a very sour taste in my mouth. Most merchants are honest and want to please their customers, which has been my overall experience. But the old adage “buyer beware”, is still very good advice.

"This company is not worth a dime. When you make your order, they call you at home, making it sound like an emergency. What's really happening is that they try to get you to buy a warranty that you absolutely do not need, and accessories that you can get for half the cost at another location. Secondly, I called four days later on an order that they told me originally was to be shipped soon. When on the phone - the first question was whether I had bought any accessories or warranty with my camera!! Right after saying no, they said it would take 6-8 weeks to ship it. On top of that, they were consistently rude in any conversion I had with someone there. Extremely rude. This was the worst online shopping experience I have had in the past 5 years, I suggest, no - Im telling you, STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. "
"I did not buy my camera from this scam outfit. They tried to upsell overpriced memory and other items, then hung up repeatedly when I asked questions. Unbelievable. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!"
"Called for information about an advertised product. Salesperson was very rude and hung up on me. I called back and the "manager" was equally rude. Do not buy from this company!"
"Same old story: lowest advertised price on Canon A95. Called to confirm the order only to have a high pressure sale for accessories. When I refused the accessories ($80 for 4 AA NiMH batteries!!) informed me the camera was out of stock. Actually told me, "Looks like you've called 4 of our other businesses. It wouldn't be fair to them to fulfill your order." Several companies listed at PriceHead.com are actually one big boiler room! Astonishingly honest appraisal from the salesman re: their dishonest sales tactics. This collection of 4 businesses owes me 2 hours of my life back (thank goodness for the salesman's "honesty" re: the interrelationship of the "separate" businesses! Otherwise, I'd still be working my way down the list! NY THUGS! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!"
