"***Note*** I actually bought my product from them in 2002, but I did not find resellerratings.com until today. So everything I experienced below was from 2002, not 2005. If I had found this website in 2002, I would have come here to give them my review then. Thank you for your understanding.
This is the online store responsible for me being afraid of buying things online. They had the worst service ever. I bought my A928 Intel™ "DeskNote (ECS Ibuddy notebook) from them in September of 2002. When I got the laptop, it crashed on the first try of turning it on. Then, whenever the laptop was on for about 15 minutes a blue screen would pop up. I tried calling and emailing them (I still have ALL the emails) and they weren't too nice. It took them a while to respond and when they did respond, it went EXACTLY like this (from one of the emails they sent me):
"Check components inside, make sure no loose cables, no
PCI cards out of socket. Reset Power plug on
Motherboard."
For one, this guy was crazy for telling me to check compononets inside the laptop. That would mean I would have to open it, and that would definitely void my warranty. I did not want to void my warranty by opening it so I emailed them back. After a game of email replies, I finally decided to get an RMA and returned the laptop to them for fixing after only about a week of receiving the laptop. And of course, they only cover one way shipping, so I had to pay for the shipping to them myself.
The story is not over yet. When I finally received my laptop again, I assumed that it would finally be in great condition. Then I turned it on, and got the EXACT same blue screen after about 15 minutes of the laptop turned on. I emailed them, and by this time I was pretty annoyed. I spent 40 dollars on shipping it back to them and for what? Nothing was fixed and the replies were still very rude and not very helpful. They were not helpful in anyway and their replies were short and ambiguous. I then asked for a refund (which could not be done) and or a replacement for the laptop. They agreed on replacing my laptop and for another 40 dollars, I sent it back to them for a REPLACEMENT. What they didn't know was I made a marking on the chassis of the laptop with my fingernail. It was something you could rub off, so it didn't void the warranty or anything, and it would prove to me whether they replaced it (as they mentioned in their reply) or if they returned the exact same laptop I had troubles with.
When I got my "new replacement" laptop, I checked for the mark I made, and sure enough, it was there. They didn't replace the laptop as they said they would. By then, I emailed them back about it, but got no replies so I just got fed up and just worked with what I got. Sure, it was now working (finally, after two tries!) but they clearly stated they would replace my laptop and I did not get that replacement.
So, this just goes to show you how bad of a company this is and how shady their business is. To this day, I feel like I have been robbed and I still get angry thinking about the way they treated me as a customer. I hope that since this incident happened way back in 2002, I hope that maybe perhaps management has changed and that they have better customer service. However, I would still never EVER recommend this online store to anybody because of the service I've been given. I'm glad I found resellerratings.com so that I can finally let people know about this company and I can finally get it off my chest. My new choice of an online store is now newegg.com, and if actonlinestore.com reads this... you guys should order stuff from them and learn what it means to have customer service! :("

"What a Mess! Took them 8 days to build a Barebones (Case, Board, Power supply and a video card...NOTHING ELSE!) Then took another 8 days to ship it! Onboard sound was intentionally disabled by jumper setting, and they downgraded my CDRW (no notice) and forgot my Network Card.
I own my computer sales business, and my customer is sick of the excuses. Unable to contact Sales by phone (No answer after 35 rings!) and Tech Support won't answer either!
Never...NEVER will I even access their site again!

"I ordered this computer in July of 2002. I ordered a P4 2.0 GHz, 1 GB DDR SDRAM, Windows XP Home, 80 GB hard drive, 17" ViewSonic Flat Panel monitor, all black. It is a developers dream PC. Anyway, they took a LONG WHILE shipping the PC. Ordered on July 20, 2002, recieved on August 8, 2002. Their customer support was shady at best, and they shipped the monitor and PC seperately, with the PC arriving a week earlier. That was aggravating, because I was expecting the whole shabang, when in reality I only got some of the shabang.
The PC itself runs like a beast, and I couldn't be happier with it. Although this company may not be the fastest, most reliable out there, they build everything meticulously.

"I just ordered two bare bones systems from ActOnline Store and I've had some trouble already - and I haven't even received my order yet! The day I ordered, I received a confirmation, OK, good so far. The next day, I received an email stating that there was a problem with my address from my credit card issuer. I called my bank multiple times, and they assured me that my address in their system was correct. After calling so-called "tech support" at ACT (and hung up on three times by a RUDE support person), I finally got an email stating that they verified my address and my order is being processed. Now, after reading all these horror stories, I'm REALLY upset! I asked tech support when my order was going to be shipped, and I was told to go online and read their shipping FAQs. I have a sick feeling in my stomach, more is sure to go wrong...

I received an email today that my order was shipped. I rec'd a tracking number, but at the moment, I can't pull it up at the UPS webpage. UPS probably does not pickup packages until the evening, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I received the shipment yesterday, and I must say that I am VERY SATISFIED, believe it or not! My order of two bare bones systems was meticulously packed, and included all original boxes. I installed my own memory, hard drive, floppy, video card, and CD-ROM on both machines, installed WinME, and they booted up and ran perfectly! I am AMAZED, because all these negitive postings were worrying me. I am absolutly satisfited with the products I received; and I am especially satisfied with the price, although I still feel that customer service needs much improvement! I will run the machines for a week, and make another update.

I purchased brand new cpu from them, took them less than a week to build + ship it out. (that was good)
Upon delivery I go to turn it on, nothing happens. So I call them up asking what could be the problem...he tells me that my monitor(which was not from them) is probably out of date. (OK....)
So I go up to a cpu store where a friend works, plug in a brand new out of the box monitor, samething happens....nothing. We try to troubleshoot but nothing helps.

They say they are out of stock on that certain motherboard I have. 7 to 10 days to receive new one. I'm like ok...just in case yal didnt see they received on the 12th. I got my cpu back yesterday.....What is the date?? Jan 18th....Between that elipase of time I called them numerous times asking what the hell is taking so long, etc.... I had to offer things for them to do for me cause they wouldnt do nothing.
They finally called me and told me they had it in and replaced it.
I asked them, so what happens is for some reason it doesnt work again???
The of course (Arab) gentlemen goes to tell me, exact words here "That is impossible Sir, we tested it" . . . Umm, what happen the first time?

"I bought one computer from Act Online Store a little over a year ago and I was very satisfied. I ordered the system on a Monday and I got it by Friday of that same week. I installed the OS myself and it worked perfectly.
A few months ago the power supply went bad. Since I just ordered a kit, I only had a one year warranty but that was ok because it was within that year the PS was still under warranty. I emailed Act Online Store for an RMA number on a Sunday night at 11:30 and I got a response with the RMA number Monday morning at 11:00. I sent out the PS via UPS Ground the following day and it was signed for at Act on Thursday. The following Monday I recieved my new PS via UPS Ground. To top everything off I got a 400W PS back for a 300W that broke! I am very happy with my experiences so far with Act Online Store.
I just ordered an Intel based DeskNote from them and I expect that I'll get it by the end of next week. I'll try to update this with what transpires."
