"You would think 1X6 IPE +PLUS represents their best cut premium lumber, but buyer beware! When talking to my salesman on the phone, and after telling him my needs and filling my order, my salesman did not tell me I was only getting a standard cut. After my 1x6 IPE +Plus was delivered, and upon closer examination of the product, I found that nearly half of the decking was poorly milled, had worm homes or were damaged. I was under the impression that their 1X6 IPE +PLUS tongue and groove product was their premium grade decking that was free of these defects. I double checked my invoice and did not see the word standard or premium grade printed on the sheet. When the manager called to answer my complaint of 50+ defective boards, he pointed out that missing word to me and agreed to replace only 14 damaged pieces. He said the worm holes and planing defects are normal for this lumber. So I Googled what he said, and got my answer on http://www.advantagelumber.com/ipe_decking_blog/proper-installation-will-prevent-decking-problems, of all places! Lesson learned “you can't trust anyone”: My advice to you is, if ordering from this company be sure every single detail is spelled out on your receipt, or you will get the inferior stock in the warehouse. Would I buy from Advantage again? Nope."
