"My experience of purchasing tickets and arranging the cruise with Costa Cruise Lines was so easy.

While the arrangement for joining the ship were a breeze the actual cruise with Costa Luminosa was the absolute pits. Mismanagement on board and overall organisation was the most woeful experience I have ever witnessed.

I am pleased I was only using this cruise as a means to see some of the Greek Isles and in that sense my aims were achieved. But life onboard indicated that Costa Cruises are among the most niggardly owners for this type of activity. The waiter had received a 25% reduction in their salary and were told if they were not happy to leave as there were plenty of others to take their place. The penny pinching achieved record status when we had another lady customer choking on food at our table and when we asked for some water the waiter said he would have to see her ship card to see if she had a water package. My wife immediately tried to give her some of our water and we were told not to do this. In Australia this is a simple act of humanity which provides some indication of those in upper management at Costa Cruises.

The Mykonos leg (which was the main highlight of the trip) was cancelled because of high winds and whilst I am not critical of that element of safety the alternative that was provided showed no research or forethought went into the decision making process. We moored at the city of Corfulina for the entire time it would have taken to get to Mykonos and return (about 15 hours) on the same day the island was closed for their Annual Patron Saint's day. Still having to shed time for the return to Dubrovnik the Costa Luminosa was being overtaken by tramp steamers and relic fishing vessels.

The only problem with Affordable Tours was that we were told we had a 50 Euro voucher to spend on the ship but the cruise line said that was not the case.

I would readily used Affordable Tours.com for future travel arrangement however would never entertain the notion of travelling with this low class and badly organised cruise line again."

"1st time on a group tour. There was a great mix of tour guide events and free time which made for a fun, event filled, and busy adventure. I know some in the group had some free time. Guide was very friendly and made his way to everyone in the group making sure they had the vacation they wanted. Coming from the USA use ATM or exchange funds in airport as money exchange is difficult without local bank account. Great time .. we would do it again."
