seriously unprofessional

""Hold up" on this company. bought (and paid for via PayPal) Black Friday advertised price on 2 ceiling fans....only 1 showed up even though packing slip said BOTH were shipped. without any notice, company cancelled the shipment when in route. after a few days, we contacted Luminance in Pasadena, CA (company on the packing slip) wondering where the second fan is? they looked into it and got back to us with the following reply: " your order was cancelled due to the advertised price was wrong and they would be sending out a return label for us to send back the first fan". Luminance never refunded our PayPal acct. we kept the first fan...Luminance never sent us back the second fan or even refunded us for the undelivered second fan. unacceptable business practice. stay away."

Do not buy from Affordable Lamps

"2 light broken, sent wrong sized glass to repair lights, asked for refund and to ship back, told me to destroy lights, couple of days later asked when I would get my refund, told me they shipped out new lights...AFTER I already purchased and installed new lights. Dont have high hope for the lights they sent and I no longer need. Going on a month dealing with this crappy company. "

BEWARE! A very disreputable company!

"They took 2 months to refund my money for a defective and totally unusable lamp. A comparable replacement lamp was not available, but they still charged me a hefty shipping charge to return the lamp. Very dishonest, unresponsive, and rude. Look elsewhere if you are in the market for lighting."

Beware

"I ordered a couple lights from them. Their website stated if not received in 3 days you get $50. My lamps took more than 3 days to receive. I called the 800 number and was told I will get my $50. Great, they credited me $50. Then I returned the lamps because they were too small. They credited me back all but $50 and then sent me an email saying they want to scrap one lamp because the hardware was missing. I never took out the hardware from the box. They made the email look like it came from Capital Lighting.
Plenty of good guys to buy from, stay away from these guys

Good experience

"Easily navigated site. Best prices on lights. We ordered 4 sconces. We received an email that there could be a delay in shipment and they asked if we wished to cancel or continue our order. We informed them that we would wait. We were surprised when within a few days they notified us to inform us that our order was being shipped. We received all 4 lights today. We are very satisfied with our experience with Affordable Lamps."

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE

"Horrible service. I ordered a Casablanca ceiling fan over 3 weeks ago. They didn’t send despite promising it would. Evthere in 3 days. There was NO communication whatsoever. It was very difficult to get a hold of anyone and when I did they were very rude! As if they were doing me a favor. They finally informed me that the glass was backordered which is understandable. I asked if they could at least ship the fan motor out as I had an electrician scheduled so at least I could get the install started. They agreed to this but they didn’t send the fan blades.
I had to call back as at this point I was concerned that they wouldn’t fulfill the whole order.
Once again they were very rude about it.
Again no communication whatsoever regarding the status of the order.
I need to get another ceiling fan for my bedroom. I definitely will NOT be getting this from Affordable Lamps.
Horrible service!!
Avoid this place at all costs!!

Horrible service

"I ordered a lamp which wasn’t the right size so I returned it. It has been over 2 months and I still haven’t received a refund. I call every week and leave a message if I don’t get through. When I do get through they give a different reason why the refund hasn’t happened. Last I heard it was sitting on the managers desk awaiting approval over 2 wks ago. Today no one answers phones. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were out of business. Who runs a company like this?"

Avoid this company

"Wish I had read these reviews first. Ordered a ceiling fan on 2/8, I was informed it was on back order and could be delivered on 3/5, they offered a $10 discount. On 3/5 I emailed and was told they would give me a tracking number on 3/6. I called on 3/13, still had not received a tracking number, only to find out they did not know when it would be shipped. I cancelled my order on 3/13, had to call again on 3/17 and find out why my paypal was not refunded yet. They said they would do it immediately. I guess they have a different definition of immediately than I do..

The person you get for customer service, is rather abrupt and definitely not service with a nice attitude.

"Avoid at all costs. First, the shipping took over three weeks for an "in-stock item." Second, the product came defective, and affordablelamps would not replace it because the item was "discontinued" (though they still have it for sale on their website).

In the rare instances where they respond, they will promise to do things within a certain time-frame and universally fail to deliver. Only after initiating a PayPal dispute did I get a resolution to their defective product. The ordeal took over a month and several dozen unanswered emails.

BUYERS BEWARE, their customer service is nonexistent, and they WILL try to give you the runaround in hopes of getting you to give up.

Horrible merchant, would not recommend to my worst enemy.

"BEWARE. Their return policy that does NOT come up in the purchase process is very specific. Make sure to read their return policy before you buy. They won't return any item within an order over $2500. Once they got your money, they run, despite marketing a full return policy with no re-stocking fees (with a few brands as exceptions)."

"We bought a picture lamp, having first ascertained that it could be returned for a refund (minus a hefty 25% restocking fee)if it didn't fit our antique picture frame. On its arrival (almost 4 weeks later), we opened the lamp, removed the paper wrapping, but saved all the packing material. It became clear as we tried to attach it to the frame that this was not going to fit on the old frame so we repackaged the lamp in the original foam custom cut packing and box, got a RGA # and returned the lamp to the manufacturer (House of Troy) according to their instructions by UPS, return receipt, delivered on January 19. They said it would take 20-25 business days to refund the money (about $125 after the restocking fee). As of March 19, no refund or response. On phoning I was told they would have to contact House of Troy (the manufacturer) and would phone back the next day. No word. I phoned again on March 29 to be told exactly the same thing and that he would call back within an hour. After two hours I phoned back and he still had no answer. At 6 that evening we received an email saying that the lamp was returned damaged and no refund would be issued. If we wished they would send the lamp back to us. The lamp was returned to House of Troy in pristine condition except for an opened bag of screws that I put in a new ziploc bag and without the paper wrapping that was impossible to reaffix. For a 25% restocking fee, you'd think they could put the screws in a new bag and rewrap the lamp. What bugs me most was the fact that it took 3 phone calls and 5 weeks of delay to be told they found a lamp returned 2 and a half months ago was returned damaged. UPDATE: Upon complaining to the vendor about the refund denial, we were actually refunded the money. It was an unpleasant experience and left a bad taste. I would not buy from this vendor again or from the lamp manufacturer, House of Troy."

"I purchased a light fixture on 8/22/07, the following day they called and said it was out of stock and promised it would ship directly from the manufacturer on 9/10/07. On 9/24 I phoned and was told that there was a problem and it would not ship until 10/26, so I cancelled my order and asked them to credit my card back. Which led me to purchase another one from www.Lightingshowroom.com (A great experience).On 9/25 I get an email that says it was shipped on 9/21 and that they will not accept my return. So now I have contacted My CC Company to due battle. There is more if anyone is interested I would be happy to send you their unprofessional emails. Just contact me ****@**** and you can see how unprofessional they really are."
