"Wow, I really wish I had seen these reviews before I used these jerks. Booked a flight to Bali in 9/2010. Made it the first leg of the trip, and at our second destination (I forget where it was now, it's been so long), the airline told us they had no record of us. I showed them my confirmation and they said they didn't do business with that company. Were totally scammed. Luckily, they had seats left on the flight so I bought 2 new seats. Called the company afterward and they did nothing. I can't believe they're still in business."
"One of the worst customer service departments I've ever come across. All of their support staff is overseas, speak very bad English, don't do anything to help you but simply answer your question with the least amount of information possible!
This is the first and LAST time I've ordered using Airfare.com. Disgrace! If this is their means of maximizing their profit, best of luck, because it won't last long ;)"
"I wish I had seen these reviews prior to booking my flight to Brussels from New York. Same thing happened to me. I booked the fair for $803.87 and received a confirmation and a success transaction, only to arrive at the AA counter the day of my flight and be told that they had tried to contact me and that they had needed additional information on my credit card, however that was not true. I never received any type of notice from Airfare.com of any issues. I was then stuck having to pay $2,203.00 in order to make that flight. NEVER EVER USE THESE GUYS. I currently made a complaint with AA since they use Airfare as a sponsor and should have some kind of liability and Airfare's number is always busy or theres a voice message system and no one ever returns your calls."
"My ticket was cancelled and they did not tell me. When I call them, they kind of pointed on my nose and told me it is me who cancelled the ticket and it is not their fault. They are so rude and everything they are talking about is a lie. I did not cancel my ticket, the ticket got cancelled because their system is the worst system in the world. And you should know you can barely understand their english. Don't buy air ticket on the website!"
"If you can, avoid airfare.com. These guys changed my flight but neglected to tell me. Then when you call in, they refuse to take responsibility and force you to wait for an absurd amount of time. I actually timed it to 1 hour and 38 minutes of wait time. You are actually waiting on the phone for the length of a feature movie.
They also don't give refunds on their gaffes, so beware of that as well. Don't believe me? Call these gems and ask them if any of what I'm saying sounds like a lie.

"I booked a flight through airfare.com. I noticed that no charge had gone through on my account, so I contacted my bank, the airline, and airfare.com only to find that my reservation had been cancelled and that the problem was with airfare.com. Their customer service was awful and they ultimately were completely ineffective and did nothing to solve my problem. They mentioned that they had attempted to call me, despite no calls showing up in my phone history as received or missed, suggesting that this is in fact a lie. It also does not make sense that they would not attempt to email me if the calls weren't going through, suggesting they are incompetent.
As a result, I have to spend an additional $400 for my flight as the fares have gone up. This company and their service are awful and I will not use them again. I strongly advise anyone thinking of using them to do the same. "
"If I could give negative stars I would. Booked an international flight through the site and had it cancelled randomly 5 days later and told there was nothing to do but pay another $300. I asked what they were going to do to help and was treated as rudely as I ever have been in my life. At one point called "terrible" by a "customer service" personnel. Was told "that's how things in life work, there are restrictions...". There are many cancellation restrictions on the consumer but no accountablility that your ticket will remain booked at the fare advertised. Utterly absurd. DO NOT EVER USE."
"This is the worst website to book airline ticket ever!!!!
the worst customer services ever!!!!
Never book in this website!"
"If only I had read the reviews before booking my flight through them. Kayak search showed their price to be the cheapest so I go ahead an book my international flight only to find that my credit card was charged twice. I call their customer service and am routed to some third world where this guy could barely speak in English. He tells me he has no idea why I was charged twice and that the accounts dept will call me in 1-2 days. Really!? Thank god for AMEX; at least i was able to open a dispute while airfare.com tries to 'figure out' why they felt like charging me twice. "
"The worse ever.. i try to change my booking and they answer me after 12 emails and i dont remember how many phone calls ..every times i was calling them they told me to send the email, and they never answer to the emails .. i would never ever do business with them"
"i planned to go to africa this summer, and saw an unbelievable price on airfare.com. I thought the price was too good to be true, then I looked up the reviews. I saw that many people had complained about this site, so I decided to call them and talk to them. When I called, I was talking to a guy who barely knew english. I told him that I was interested in booking an international flight, but I am concerned about your reputation because most of the review sites had bad ratings. He switched me to another agent, I repeated myself, then the guy, (also barely speaking english) was obviously reading from a script. Nevertheless, he told me that the were registered at the better business bureau. So I go to the BBB, and the rating for this company is a C, and it is not accredited with the BBB. I called back and stated this and was put on hold for a very long time. Then when i was taken off hold, the guy started asking for my flight departure and arrival dates, totally neglecting my claims regarding the BBB. Then I asked him again about the BBB, and his priceless response was “thank you for calling airfare.com, if you have any questions regarding information about us, please visit http://www.airfare.com ” … thats when I hung up!!"
"It's true-- Airfare.com is terrible. It seems their business practices are legal, but they feel like a total scam. Terrible customer service (they'll hang up on you or disconnect your call numerous times). The tickets ended up working just fine, but it was not worth the headache and the fear that they wouldn't work. Travel should be fun, easy and secure. Airfare.com provides just the opposite assurance..."
"Has anyone had a positive experience with this company? I booked my flight last week from Newark to Barcelona. I had the same credit card issues that people below have stated but I got it sorted out. Although my credit card company said it's still pending because airfare.com has to send them back notification saying they've received payment and it can take up to 30 days, which I've never heard of before. I called the airline and my flights are confirmed. But I keep getting emails from them saying that there is a change in my flight time. Once it changed 10 minutes and the other time there is no change. I'm terrified that they are going to cancel my flight or add on all these additional charges because they mess with my itinerary. I'm kind of beating myself up for not looking at reviews first. My question is....should I just run now and have my credit card cancel the payment???"
"SCAM ARTISTS… Best way to describe them. I booked a flight with them and printed the “confirmation” page from their website. The next morning I received the confirmation email with the incorrect flights. When I called to discuss with them, they were very rude, hung up on me several times and accused me of incorrectly booking the tickets. They were unwilling to have me email them the confirmation page I printed to prove that the error is in their system. They told me it was my error and had to pay a $300 – equal to the price of the original ticket.
This is how they make their money. Don’t waste your time with them."
"Don't let airfare.com fool you with a little lower price than other website. Make sure you read their cancellation policy first. Their tickets are not refundable. To make change to your reservation you have to pay 200 per ticket (for Domestic Flights) and $350 per ticket (for International Flights). Additionally, if the new tickets costs more than the original tickets YOU MUST PAY the difference. If the new tickets are less than the original, the airline WILL NOT credit the difference.
My original reservation, I paid Base: $886.00 +Taxes / Fees: $637.67 =$1523.67 USD
I asked for change my reservation. I found a new trip that cost as follow : Base price: $886 + Tax/fees $638.06 = $1524.06. Do the math, I should only pay $350 for the fee and 39 cents extra. But NO, they made me pay: $350 plus $155.36. They won't send me the breakdown of the cost or explain what it is they just said it's the airline fee. They are HORRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY FROM AIRFARE.COM"
