"Horrible experience! I didn't get to pick up my rental. Got stuck at the airport! Trying to get back my rental collision insurance that I paid for prior to pick is a hassle. Customer service reps always giving the run around! I will NEVER use this site again and wouldn't recommend it at all! "
"First off all you will never receive the car ordered, everytime a similar one.
Depending on the car you rent a garantie its token on your visa card (for me 700eur) i rent the car from 24/12/19 to 02/01/2020 and at this day no garantie back.
I open a complainte to the airportrentalcar because of MEXC Otopeni bucharest rentalcar as i toke the rental on their website.
1st email received, they are going to check the detail and come bqck to you in max 10 day, 10 days after they just ask you if everything allright now and you reply that NO still NOT and you receive again an email to wait 10 more days.
What a crapy service!!!
Now i make oposition at my bank for all the"
"We cancelled 5 days in advance and charged a cancelation fee and a charge for insurance that we never asked for. Impossible to get thru to a live person. Would never rent from here again."
"Requires you to purchase fake “insurance” that covers absolutely nothing and refuses to refund it even after cancelling the reservation. And gives you a fake price for the rental that is not even 1/3 the price you will actually be paying when you pick up the car. This company needs to be shut down. Scammers."
"Our car rental was cancelled due to the Avis company giving us the filthy/ dirty car. Avis refused to clean the car or give us different car. The associated stated “either take the car or cancel it.” We end up cancelled the rental. We want our money back for the collision damage coverage. They won’t refund our money. Giving me the run around. From Avis to Priceline then now they said to call airport-rental car but they won’t even answer the phone or email back. Bad customer service! bad attitude! No class!"
"I was travelling to Canada, I had booked from Mumbai, via online mode, a Car for rental of 7 days to commence on 15th May (Canadian Calendar). The automobile was to be picked up from Toronto Airport area upon my arrival. Regrettably, the transaction could not take place as the price mentioned on "Airportrentals.com" website (approx. CAD $ 24/day) was clearly different at kiosk in Toronto which quoted me approx. CAD $ 100/day. The reason given was some insurance factor that I was told was mandatory. As such the said essential feature forming the substance of the transaction was only mentioned to me at last minute, that too after an exhausting 22 hour journey and a delayed shuttle pick-up, which left me totally frustrated. Nothing in writing was given to me by the staff attendants of the aforesaid company in Toronto. With regards to reversal of $96/- (Canadian) charged on my credit-card, the staff said that I must take up the issue by email or phone as it is a New Zealand based company.
This is to record that I never ended up renting any car and immediately the next day, without any undue delay I have made my grievance known by email which is annexed herewith. The company has reciprocated back to my initial e-mail and even on phone on toll free number I called from Canada) I am told that they will confirm with Toronto office that no car-rental ever took place and it can take 15-20 days to process my refund which is charged to my credit-card. However, there seems to be no progress even after the time has elapsed and no response now from the company viz emails I have sent in order to escalate this issue.
As such, I am now sending all required info. to HSBC to take immediate steps to refund my monies illegally charged by the delinquent company. They MUST BE REPORTED TO BBB"
"I work for a car rental agency and this company is under investigation for.... To many things to report! Pls save your money bc its non refundable here when they make a mistake which has been on 100% of the ones I've tried to help! THESE ARE THE FACTS! UNFORTUNATELY I HAD TO LEAVE A STAR TO LEAVE THIS COMMENT! THEY DESERVE A 0%"
"Hours wasted trying to get a rep on the line. All I wanted to do was change my car rental from 10 days to 9 days. When I finally got someone to do it, she tells me it will add a significant amount to the bill. Huh??? Go elsewhere and deal directly withy the rental company. These guys are crroked middlemen."

"I booked a rental through airportrentalcars, which as you know is an agency, not a rental company. The receipt said that I was renting from Economy Rent-a-car at Wellington airport, New Zealand. There is no such company at the airport, and the provided telephone number was not answered. AirportRentalCars "customer service" likewise does not exist: the provide number is for Priceline customer service in the USA.
It turns out that airportrentalcars is not a complete scam. They had booked a car for me, but with another company, Scotties. Scotties had my name and reservation, but not my contact information. Neither did I have theirs. How did airportrentalcars think that we were going to find each other? And of course, if I hadn't picked up the car, they were going to charge me anyway, as a "no show" !!!"
"Train then shuttle after 20 minute wait to a dirty office 15 min away staffed by rude, unpleasant men. Car was dirty. Company insisted we buy additional insurance although we and others renting at the same time insisted it was unnecessary. Company should be shut down!

"Went smoothly with the car rental once we arrived. But we called ahead to change the reservation to one less day and when asking the car rental place about a refund, they directed us back to the booking website. We were then told, after the fact, that they didn't do refunds for unused days. It is not an unused day if I called ahead to change the reservation. Why would a car rental office tell us that the booking company would refund the money if they wouldn't? There is a serious lack of communication about booking and changing reservations. Will not use this service again as they have no problem taking your money..."
"Never. Ever. Ever use this company to rent a vehicle. This is such a scam and I can’t believe they haven’t been shut down yet. If you want to throw your money away, just mail it to me directly...because I’m out almost $200 due to these thieves. "
"I reserved a car through AirportRentalCars.com for a car in Anchorage, Alaska. They added $171.75 extra
in fees - airport access fee, municipality tax, state vehicle rental tax, customer facility charge and a vehicle licensing fee. NONE of these charges were mentioned on my reservation paperwork. My on-line reservation cost stated $501.25 including taxes and fees. When I picked up the vehicle the cost was now $636.50. When I questioned the cost I was told that the on-line reservations don't show all the costs. I argued my case but got nowhere. I will not use this website again. Why would I? It is false advertising. Even when you print out the amount and show it at the rental counter they don't honor it. You get all kinds of unexpected charges added."
"NO ANSWER TO COMPLAINT:
booking info not followed by Alamo/Enterprise: wrong car, £600 deposit taken from credit card, insurance waiver denied, roadside assistance denied.
Both AirPortRentals and Alamo/Enterprise delayed responses to complaint by phone and email until too late.
And AirPortRentals charged $48 disguised as a deposit."
