"Just installed an Altrider 1190 KTM skit plate. Was a little involved but the mounting is very solid, the coverage is excellent, the fitment was great. Works fine with the stock center stand and clears the aftermarket Arrow pipes. The added touch of the pins for the footpegs is very welcome and shows how much thought went into this kit. Super solid, looks great. VERY satisfied.

Note, if you use aftermarket Fastway billet adventure pegs the supplied longer bolts will not allow you to remount the pegs as the heads are to tall. You will need to use different bolts.

"My 2013 air cooled 1200GS now has proper body armor underneath. The Alt a Rider skid plate is a huge upgrade covering roughly 1/3 more real estate than the stock piece. The exhaust headers are now adequately protected, a lack that is impossible to forgive on the BMW skid plate. The aluminum is plenty robust and well mounted and weighs in much less - half the weight- than the Black Dog Cycle Works contender that I also considered. The black matte version looks the part on my machine too! The only critique is the instruction are photocopy quality B&W...poorly written and impossible to make heads or tails from the pictures. Fortunately the same IFU can be found on line in full HD color. It's not a difficult job, but easy to miss instructions about the stock spacer removal with the original plate ( the IFU says thus removal is an extra step on 2010 models but it was also required on my last of the air cooled 2013 (90th Anniversary) edition. Also easy to forget the Alt Rider aluminum spacer that does need to be added back though the instruction in step 1 is very vague. Not a huge deal, but an opportunity to do better. Next up is the Rowe PDM60 relay for additional power outlets..."

"Purchased a AltRider Pillion Luggage Rack for BMW R 1200 GS, nice...bought the RotoPax "system" to bolt on to it. Much to my surprise, no mount came with the Rotopax system. Called Customer service who said that no mount comes with the system, and said they took the description from Rotopax. So I ordered a standard mount and it arrives today. NONE of the proper mounting hardware come with the mount that will allow mounting on the Pillion Rack. None. Says in the instructions that you'll need to go to a hardware store to purchase bolts separately.

Could not be more disappointed in both companies (Altrider and Rotopax) for not clearly stating in the product ads online that this would be the case, and especially for neither company NOT to provide the proper mounting hardware for the Rotopax. I doubt that I'll do business with either company again unless I have to..."
