"I chatted on-line after I could find nothing about Americal. The person I chatted with told me the company had been in business since 1984, but the website says 1981. Whoops! When I pointed this out, she said I was right and she had only worked there for 6 years. I thanked her, and exited the website immediately."
"We ordered $93.92 in merchandise on October 14, 2004 from Americal with 2-day shipping. Since October 14th we have made three telephone calls to Americal and each time they said a manager would call us back. Our third call was made to them today, Oct. 25, 2004, and we are now hopefully awaiting their third promise to call us. Americal withdrew the $93.92 from our bank account October 15, the day after order was placed. So far we haven't received the order or even an explanation on why not? We have ordered from Americal before and did not have any problems. We can understand if they are having problems. We don't understand why they haven't contacted us to explain.

"BEWARE -- UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS!!! Bought economy dvd-r media from Americal. I have a Pioneer 105 dvd drive with the suggested 1.33 firmware that Americal claims is compatible with the disks. Only 7 out of 93 discs worked properly. Despite the fact that the media does not work as advertised, Americal wants me to pay return shipping and %15 restocking fee. Won't give refund, only exchange. (check their guarantee, which is no guarantee) This is a classic scam. Don't buy from businesses like this. Do us all a favor and help put them out of business so they screw as few people as possible."
"I purchased a Pioneer 106D DVD drive from Americal/CD-DVD Supplies, 7750 Gloria Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91406. The resellers sents the unit without any instructions and it was defective. On contacting them, they could not provide any tech support, and kept insisting there was nothing wrong with the product. I checked with the local specialists who tested and found that the unit was indeed defective. After weeks of trying to contact them (they are closed evenings and weekends) they asked me to return the unit and agreed to send a replacement after testing the unit. The replacement looked used, but I asked a technician to install it for me. All this cost me $90 extra. In the meantime, the price went down by $60, so I requested them to bear some of the cost, but there has been no response so far. Too much hassle dealing with this vendor.

I've burnt about 30 disks so far, and have had no problem.
I'm surprised there's been no other ratings on this company.
Of course, I made sure before I purchased from them, that the disks were compatible with my computer.
My optical drive verified that it would go well.
I'm happy....so far...."
