"the first print i ordered came damaged there was a big crease down the middle. i called and the lady was super nice and said they would send out another through fed ex instead of the post office and not to worry about sending the damaged poster back. it was nice they didn't over analyze my request or think i was lying, just sent another poster. although the other poster had some minor damage as well, it wasn't bad at all compared to the first one sent. "

"I've only ordered from art.com a few times and each time there was a mishap. There's an overall sandwich going on here. Lot of good layered with some bad.
They have an amazing selection of art as well as media for the art to be printed on. Paper. Acrylic. Canvas. Metal. Wood. And they even sell other decor items like sculptures, occasional furniture, and more. Fantastic.
Pricing is a mixed bag. They always have sales which lead me to believe that their regular prices are fabricated and the sale prices are what is normal. This leaves me feeling duped a lot of the time. They often have sales that say EVERYTHING ON SALE and when I add something to the cart it doesn't have a discount or the discount is less than the advert said.
Finally, execution. I recently ordered a metal print and there is a 1.5 inch defect on the upper left corner with no color in it and the metal has a 2 inch dent in the upper right corner that happened before packaging and shipping so someone knew it was messed up but they shipped it anyway. That doesn't make me feel like a valued customer.
A previous example is I ordered a mounted and framed photograph 40x30 inches landscape and it arrived with the hanging hardware and wires in the obviously wrong portrait configuration. Not that difficult to fix but it was a pain in the ass convenience wise. I order online to save myself a trip to the store because I don't have a car. And when I have to take something that's been messed up to a store or to a shipping facility it ruins the whole reason of ordering online in the first place. It also costs a lot more.
Would I order from art.com again? I don't know. Maybe if I'm desperate but I don't have very high expectations. "
