"This is by far the worst experience I’ve had with a merchant. From the sales service to the customer service and a horrible delivery experience. It has been very frustrating dealing with this. Their items are already so overpriced but you’d think it will be worth it but it has been a big disappointment. I purchased a TV stand with a fireplace in August. The stand was delivered 2 days after purchase but the sales representative failed to inform us that the fireplace piece was not available. They never bothered to call us so we had to call and ask for the piece and they told us to wait another MONTH. After over a month went by, we had to call AGAIN and they said to wait another month and that same routine continued for six more months! When they finally delivered the piece on January, the delivery person was so rough unboxing the item that he broke a piece! Thinking I wouldn’t notice, he proceeded to hide the broken piece in his pocket!!!! It was only when I asked if something broke that he told me “I don’t know” so I approached the item to see a very visible broken piece. He then told me I would have to call Ashley’s and figure out when can I get a new delivery. As of right now Sunday January 3rd 2021, I am still waiting for the item that I purchased in August 2020. Wondering what other bad surprises they will have for me.... Oh! not to mention that they didn’t “approve” my refund when I asked if I could return the items. Just the worst experience!!! I would tell this story to everyone I know so that they never have to go through the same experience we had to go through!"
"We bought a living room set and the technician has had to come here 4 times in a year! Furniture is junk and the foam cushions are so compressed after 2 months that it hurt to sit. Their service department will blatantly lie to you and put you off as long as possible hoping you just go away. Horrible experience. "
"In April 2019 I purchased a rocker recliner chair; 3 month later the chair broke. I asked to be replaced and Customer Services insisted in repairing the chair at home; which they did however four months later the chair broke again; at this time they told me they were going to change the entire mechanics of the chair and they were going to send an "expert" to fix it. From the time the parts were delivered to the time the chair was fixed the entire process took about 6 weeks each time.
Approximately 3 months ago the chair broke again; it took two phone calls to finally got an answer from customer services; I was told that they were going to fix it one more time and if the fix was not adequate they will replace the chair.
I decided today (12/19/20) to call because it was taken too long for the part to arrive (I thought that the delivery was taken longer due to the pandemic). I was informed that they canceled the delivery of the part because it was over a year from the purchased date; that I need to pay for someone to inspect the chair to see why it broke... please notice that Ashley Furniture store not only sold unreliable product but also nobody notified me when they made the decision to change their commitment. "
"Their furniture is actually decent quality. Their salespeople are great. But their customer service after the sale is absolutely horrendous. They hang up on you. They ignore you.
I bought a decent amount of furniture, got home same day, looked at the receipt, and realized they overcharged me. Not much but $250. The manager told me he would credit it to my card. That was about 3 months ago, still not received the credit. I called talked to rude representatives at corporate. They promised me they would fix it. Still not credit. I called back talked to a manager at corporate, same promise, she even promised to call me back, literally nothing happened. I've now spent hours on hold waiting to talk to rude employees, months waiting for my credit. Me paying interest on the money they borrowed from me. Absolutely pathetic.
After waiting about 90-days for them to credit me what they told me they would, I finally just disputed it through my credit card.
Now my remote control breaks on the fireplace I bought from them. I reach out to see if I could buy a new one, they literally just told me in the chat they couldn't help me.
I would ABSOLUTELY NOT do business with them. It's one thing to have a bad employee or two but literally no one would help me at corporate. It's clearly a training issue and not worth the headache of trying to get them to do what's right."
"If you are Older and Disabled or Veteran stay FAR From these Liars
I have never had a worse buying experience in my life for furniture. The shipping date keeps changing. I have been literally lied to at least 6x.
The Algonquin store is useless. Don't even think about getting a call back when you have issues. Cancelled an item TWICE and they still delivered it.
Call the main line and the reps tell you they cannot do a thing, that I have to go into the store. Meaning once again I have to find a driver and get help. They say all I can do is call the sales guy Eric. He's is useless and doesn't care. Not a peep after several requests for him to call me. Liar.
For a disabled Sr. Veteran this is unacceptable. I cannot move the carton! It sits on the front porch after 3 days! And they have been told every time I am disabled. Get this...they delivered it while I was IN THE Hospital DURING SURGERY AND TELLING THEM NO ONE WOULD BE HOME! I get home and there is a HUGE partial shipment on my porch that weighs a couple hundred lbs! The CANCELLED ORDER!
After spending countless hours on the phones I keep getting more promises of false delivery dates for the other stuff. They refuse to let me cancel unless I can walk into the store. Each time they promise yet again they will 'call back' within 2 hours and guess what? They NEVER call! Not unless I call the company number and force them to send a message. They delivered 4 chairs and not the table. Its been months. Salesman Eric NEVER once called back after several requests. Manager Karen lied several times. I had to get a ride and hobble through an almost empty store to only get them to LIE again to my face. This was AFTER trying to reach Karen as I stood there leaning on the counter while she was texting! Seriously? You have someone standing there barely able to stand to begin with and shes just texting away like no one was there!
Most companies have a no phone policy. Especially when the store has only 5 or 6 cars in the lot! And why do they continually lie?
Once delivered they refuse to take it back due to COVID. YET they had no issue walking it INTO the house when delivered. Chairs have never been sat on! There is NO TABLE TO SIT AT! SO what they are doing is LYING on delivery dates because once they drop it? NO RETURNS! Even when I cancelled an order they STILL dropped it off and refuse to allow it to be returned! It never came into the house! Now they tell me I'm STUCK with it all!
It is a shame because every time they say "Did you read the contract when you bought it? I said there were 5 pages! And they assured me it could be returned! I was actually told by the service rep that salespeople lie and I should never believe them! THAT is the quality of people you hire? No wonder the reviews are catastrophic!
Every store policy is deliberately set up to protect them and totally screw the customer. So it does not matter if you are older, disabled, etc.... they refuse to help you at all!
ANY Veteran and their family should boycott this place. Any Senior should avoid them like the Plague. Anyone who is disabled will be lied to and screwed because now I have to pay someone to get this thing in my house because they refuse to take it back after it should have NEVER been delivered! OR chairs that have never been sat on because they cannot get the table here and refuse to send the floor model they have!
Unethical. Sleazy. Liars, the whole lot of them. I will be leaving as many poor reviews all over the web to warn people to avoid being legally robbed and treated like trash."
"Needed something before Christmas and made that clear to the sales lady. When I almost walked away because that was questionable, the lady assured me it would happen at least for the main part I needed. Called today to check status and now won't get it until February. Can't stand when someone lies just to get a commission check without regard of how it affects the customer. Don't plan to do business here again especially with what they charge. "
"Lmfao lemme just show yall how they left my furniture after I paid 169 for shipping . This is the last peace of furniture for a sectional, they put 2/3 of the sectional up and left this one stating it wouldnt fit but they never tried, so they left it in a fire exit , downstairs next to someone elses apartments , how do I know they lied about trying ? because the very next day , I got help and brought it up myself . The manager have been avoid us for months after we made the purchase ( we bough this furniture in august and go it in November) , when we got to the ashley store to speak with him he told us he didnt wanna talk to us . But we spent our money in full, he was ok helpin to us at that time though, oh and dont forget that its non refundable yall .DO NOT PURCHASE A DAMN THING FROM ASHLEYS. "
"THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH A RETAIL BUSINESS. I purchased a new couch and love seat on Aug. 20, 2020 WITH CASH. I was told the delivery wouldn't be able to take place until late September. I felt this was a long time, but regretfully accepted. Approximately 2 weeks after purchase, I received an email stating that it would be closer to mid October. Not happy...In mid October, I received a phone call stating that they would be bringing the love seat on the 16th and the rest on the 21st of October. I work out of town (and repeatedly expressed this to them) and told them I want it all at once. I don't have time to be in town for 2 different deliveries, 5 days apart from one another. They noted the system and I received a call days prior to the 21st to schedule the delivery. I BOOKED A FLIGHT AND GOT ON A PLANE to travel home and receive my furniture. The delivery team brought only the love seat (1/2 the order). I was noticeably upset so I demanded they call their supervisor from the driver's phone, as it's usually at least a 20-30 minute wait on hold with customer service. The woman I spoke with had no concern, nor remorse, with my awful experience. She simply told me the other piece wouldn't be in until mid November. So, now we're looking at approximately 3 months (1/4 of a YEAR) from the time I purchased the furniture....WITH CASH. The following day, I went in to the store to demand an explanation, and they more or less shrugged their shoulders and said it wouldn't be in untill mid DECEMBER (1/3 of a YEAR from the time of CASH PURCHASE). The assistant in the store said that'd he call some service they use to expedite my order. As my time is valuable and already repeatedly wasted, I demanded he get back with me when he knew more. About 30 minutes later, he called with "great news", or so he called it. He told me they'd be able to deliver Saturday Oct. 31 (today). I booked a flight home to receive my long-overdue furniture delivery and arrived home Thursday evening. Yesterday, Friday, Oct. 30, I received a text message stating that the delivery is now TENTATIVELY scheduled for Wed. Nov, 4th. At this point, I've now lost immeasurable amounts of time on my job and face the possibility of docked pay because of it. Never, in my 42 years, has my time been treated so invaluable. I should have pulled the plug on this a long time ago and demanded a refund immediately, but they have this tactic of stringing you along. If my delivery does not happen on or before Nov. 4, 2020, I WILL be demanding a FULL CASH refund. I was told that once a delivery takes place, you cannot return it, but they have another thing coming if they try to stick with this tactic. How is this huge corporation able to get away with this?? I also do some work for a local custom home builder, and we send numerous clients to Ashley for their furniture needs, due to shared, positive experiences in the past. Multiple clients have given me poor feedback as to the service, or lack thereof, from Ashley Home Stores, and has, quite honestly, made me look like a fool on multiple occasions. When it was time for myself to make a new furniture purchase, I regretfully had to see for myself. Boy, did my clients prove their accuracy. I will no longer be sending any clients to Ashley, but instead, instruct them to any furniture store EXCEPT Ashley.
Be very cautious in making a purchase with this company. Make sure you have nothing but time and are not in a hurry to receive your products. In my case, I may not have enough seating for my family during the holidays this year. To be quite honest, I hope I still have a job during the holidays. I now have to lose another 4 days of work because I can't afford to fly back and forth, in and out of town, being strung along. This is absolutely absurd and I'm so regretful for trying to find out on my own. I would have had my furniture from another store already, WITH a free big screen TV, but I passed on that deal. Shame on me. Ashley Home Store made a bunch of promises, and still are, that they aren't able to keep. Shame on you Ashley. "
"When we got the bedroom furniture . And when the guys dilevery the bed and set it up. When they left the bed and the dresser had so many chips on it. So make sure you look at your furniture before they leave."
"Went to the Ashley Furniture store in Waterford Lakes Florida two by two couches said it would be 1 month before we received them only received 1 couch over a month later said the other one would be on October 26th they have since called and said the other one would not be till November 16th now they will not refund the money for the first couch and I can't find a matching couch anywhere else very dishonest company suggest you never buy from them"
"Had try to resolve problems with bedroom furniture with doors that will not close properly and a writing desk put together backwards. Described the problems in detail and and store sales person said an email would be sent but no action was taken, I did this twice. Customer service does not exist after they get your money. "
"I bought brand new king bed at Ashley store, the foot bored was crack and head bored was dumped. "
"Shawna was amazing, very professional and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure working with her and no stress. I highly recommend working with her."
"Are you having problems with Ashkey Furniture? No deliveries, being stung along? Can’t contact the company? Need a refund and they are not helping? Receiving broken items or scratch and dents? Do you need help?
This group has helped many customers resolve their issues with Ashley. He advocates and shows you how to get a refund, replacements or has helped others get their deliveries sooner. He fought hard to force Ashley to start resolving our issues.

"Ashley furniture is inferior compared to other furniture stores that are comparably priced. I purchased dining room set & the seat cushions were worn out in 12-18 months. I also purchased a sofa and love seat & those cushions crushed in under 2 years. I contacted Ashley multiple times via phone, email and chat with typical answer about their standard limited warranty. I even purchased the extra warranty but that was just a waste of money. My previous furniture came from Raymour & Flanigan and the cushions lasted for 10+ years. I don't understand how a car manufacturer can make a driver seat that lasts for years with 10-20 hours/week service and Ashley can't make a dining chair cushion last more than 15 months. Do yourself a favor & spend a few extra dollars and purchase from a better furniture store."
