"I brought my nieces, who currently live out of the country, to shop out Bealls because of the quality product and what I thought to be friendliness. Your question 53.5 asks if we asked for assistance. The answer is no. There were 2 associates on the sale floor. They were both busy with one customer and a problem at the register. We were looking in the cosmetics department, Clinique, to be exact. We were searching through drawers to find needed product. After, the associates were finished with the register problem. Neither one of them came to offer assistance or ask what we were doing searching through drawers. We did not ask for help because we were unimpressed by them and figured we could find the product on our own, which we did and they did not seem to care. We continued to shop the entire store. My family and I were not greeted at all, until we got to the checkout register. When reaching the register we stated that we were making a large purchase from Clinique and would like the free gift bag of $75. value. The associates stated that the lady who worked there was not in and they didn't think there were gift bags. Neither offered to check. I went back in the following day, greeted by a very friendly cosmetic associate. She gladly gave me a free gift bag out of a drawer of at least 8 to 10 bags. I thank her for her friendly manner."

"I want it made very clear that the young lady I worked with today in Cosmetics was wonderful. She greeted me as soon as she saw me and was very accommodating in meeting my needs. There were however 2 associates that if I really needed their attention, I would have had to fall down in front of them. One would not even say 'hi' to myself or another customer and we both initiated the greeting. I truly would have walked out of the store if I had not first worked with the young lady in cosmetics."
