"I ordered a Nikon D2X and a Lexar 2 gig CF card from Berger Bros. earlier this month. I had never heard of the store before, but it was recommended by a friend who I trust. I received the items today and am thrilled with the customer service I got. I was given the owner's home phone number and email address so that I could contact him while waiting for the store to get a delivery of the cameras......something that no other store has ever done for me! Other than B&H, I had heard horror stories about a lot of New York camera stores that were basically high pressure and bait and switch dealers. No sales pressure at all, and no unexpected fees. "Extremely pleasant experience. Spoke with Brad, who was very helpful. Ordered a Minolta Maxxum 7D. I saw a package of the body and lens on another site at a cheaper price, and he was willing to work with us on the price. Was never pushy, didn't try to oversell, as I hear so many dealers do.
I received the package on the 10th. Extremely well packaged, in all original boxes with USA warranty.

"FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!! They went to great lengths to get a camera to me overnight. They got the UPS driver to wait while they packaged my camera and got it out to me even though I ordered it so late in the day. There price was competitive and the service was great."
"I asked a friend of mine to buy in this store, since I'm in Brazil and would be easier for a American to deal in U.S.
He visited their web site and ordered a 20D + 17-85 kit for 3 days UPS delivery. 5 days later and they not delivered the camera. He called them back and they didn’t have the camera! But some in the same day they called back saying that they wouldn’t lose the sale and could get the camera in 4 more days. He said Ok and guesses what? They fully charged his credit card and 10 more days past with no delivery. He called them back and they said: “We called your home to be sure the camera will not be lying in your door and with no answer we didn’t deliver and we gave the camera to another customer, and we have no camera to you now. But if you wait some more days we can get another one.
Are they kidding me? This is a regular practice in U.S. stores?
If I had to pay in advance and wait, I would go with BH that always did a good service to me. But I just agreed to pay for get the camera now. This is really annoying and I wasted more than 15 days with Berger Bros tricks."

" BERGER BROS IS THE PLACE TO SHOP IF YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE MORE THAN A NUMBER. I CALLED THE STORE A COUPLE OF TIMES TO GET INFO ON SOME PRO EQUITMENT, DIGITAL STILL ALD DIGITAL VIDEO. THE SALES STAFF WAS ALWAYS READY TO HELP NO MATTER WHEN I CALLED.
I DECIDED TO VISIT THE STORE. EVERYTHING THEY TOLD ME WAS IN STOCK WAS ACTUALLY IN STOCK. THEY LET ME DEMO THE EQUITMENT, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE HIGH END ( SOME STORES WOULD NOT UNLESS I WAS BUYING ).
I FOUND THE PRICES TO BE EXCELLENT AND AGAIN THE SERVICE WAS INCREDABLE. THEY HAD NO PROBLEM SPENDING PLENTY OF TIME WITH ME TO MAKE SURE I WAS BUYING THE RIGHT EQUITMENT (THANKS DAN, THANKS STEVE).
I WAS ALSO IMPRESSED BY THE FACT THAT THERE SALESPEOPLE DONT JUST SELL THE EQUITMENT BUT MOST OF THEM ACTUALLY USE IT! THEY EVEN HAVE CLASSES IN THERE STORES TAUGHT BY PROFESSIONALS.
ONE OF MY SALESMEN TOLD ME THAT BERGER BROS HAS BEEN IN BUISNESS AND OWNED BY THE SAME FAMILY FOR OVER 50 YEARS, LET ME TELL YOU, IT SHOWS.
IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS I WILL BE IN THE MARKET FOR A MEADE LX-200 TELESCOPE, I WONT HAVE A PROBLEM GOING RIGHT TO THEM FOR IT, THEY TOLD ME I COULD JUST ORDER IT OVER THE PHONE AND THEY WOULD SHIP IT, OR I COULD PICK IT UP IN EITHER ONE OF THERE STORES, WHATEVER WAS THE BEST FOR ME.
