The description didn't mention that it was adhesive, which I guess is my own fault for not knowing.
When I finally got the film off, I spent 45 seconds to a minute squeezing as hard I could on every part of it to ensure permenant adhesion. It fell immediately when I lifted the shotgun to look down the sight.

I don't know how old it was, but it's worthless until I can figure out how to fix it permenantly or buy a different one. 2nd worst twenty bucks I've spent."
