"Received a broken aquarium heater worth $4.99 out of an order that was almost $100 and they requested a picture of the broken heater. After I emailed the picture of the broken heater, I got an RA number to send back the broken one. It cost more to send the broken one back, so I called them and they insisted that I have to send the broken one back for an exchange. I consider this an unreasonable request and I deleted my shopping cart and will not order from them any more, period. How stupid are they? They lost all my future business over $4.99?! I have 11 fish tanks, so good luck to them!"

"I ordered an eHeim canister and a hydor in line from them. They delivered very very quickly. However, 1 week later, I decided I need to build a sump for my main tank so I had to return the filter and heater. Big Al's is taking it back no problem. I will definitely buy from them in the future."

"I have ordered from this merchant previously and have been a satisfied customer. They generally have good selection, good prices, and shipping is pretty quick. I ordered several items and received them in good condition, with the exception of the bottle of water conditioner that I ordered. It was leaking slightly, but not enough that I returned it. Luckily, they wrapped it in a plastic bag, so nothing else was damaged. Also, they had an offer of free shipping on their website, but the free shipping could not be found at checkout. I called them and they stated that the free shipping was for the holidays, but honored it since it was still on the website. Unfortunately, they stated that I would have to call back during the weekday when someone could refund my shipping. I called back and eventually got my shipping refunded. I will continue to do business with them and recommend them."

Big Als has some low prices on items but there customer services sucks. This was my first time ordering with them. I order a coral light and it arrived damaged. I called in to report it and they informed me that they I had 2 options.
First option was to send the light back and wait about 6 weeks as UPS and BIG AL investigate this matter.
Second option was to pay for one and they will ship out at there own convincese.

I went ahead and pay for one because I need the light for my reef tank. They weren’t willing to have the shipping upgrade. And later that day I was informed that the light fixture was out of stock. I had to wait until the need day before they could have one transfer from there store to there warehouse. So I called and it arrived at there warehouse the next day and I was promise it would be shipped out no later then 2 business days. It’s been a week and my light still sitting in the warehouse. I just want to warn any buyer thinking about getting a great deal off big al. Saving that extra buck or two might not be worth it. All they could tell me is SORRY, but sorry isn’t getting me the light I ordered.

"This site has some of the absolute best prices online for water pumps. I dont know about everything else, but from what i can tell they have excellent prices all around. Shipping was timely. I dont mind waiting a while since the prices are superb. "
