"I have been shooting with a 5-year old Nikon D40X, and made a late decision (on Christmas Eve) to audition a Nikon D7000 body as a possible replacement for an upcoming trip to France beginning on December 28. The Christmas holiday interruption was complicated by the severe midwest snowstorm that was affecting FedEx deliveries nationwide.

Renting from BorrowLenses could not have been easier. They have a very well-designed website, Lisa was extremely helpful and functioned as a constant, single email point of contact for the rental -- IMHO, that is the way to do it. The camera body arrived as scheduled, despite the weather, and worked perfectly during the 2-week rental period. Returning the camera was made exceptionally easy with the checklist enclosed in the order. (FYI, I did purchase the insurance, which seemed like a no-brainer.) In short, the whole process could not have been easier or smoother.

I will definitely use BorrowLenses again, probably to audition a new DX lens. While I really liked the D7000, I made no final decision about what my next camera will be -- Nikon's silence about the D600 shutter issues and the potential imminence of a D7000 replacement have persuaded me to fence-sit for a while longer. I have a trip to Chile planned in around 2 months, and plan to rent a wide-angle DX lens. I will use BorrowLenses for sure.

ADDED NOTE: If you rent a more advanced camera body than the one you're currently using (as I did), download the users manual in advance (as I did not), so you have it as a reference. Also, you may want to borrow or buy a larger and/or faster SD card so you don't bottleneck the camera's image writing.

"I want to start by saying that the shipment was super fast. Actually, It arrived two days earlier than asked for and I wasn't charged extra for those days- I could enjoy the lens for that time for free!!!
The lens I borrowed was in excellent shape- like new and boy, did I got superb crisp tack sharp images with it.
Until I came across borrowlenses.com site I had only a lousy kit lens and without having the ability to replace it or buy a new lens I felt stuck.
Finding this site I was delighted to have the ability to get better lenses for an affordable price (compared to other stores). I also saw that the site sells used equipment and lenses which I would use in a flash. Their equipment is in superb shape and I highly recommend it.
