Taking advantage of COVID-19 conditions to **** personal data

"Just checked out Boxed for the first time, after a freind said they found hand sanitizer on there. I saw the 'stay safe' clickable 'lure' with the artwork showing hand sanitizer, masks, and COVID supplies. Clicked and the result (among other things) showed a normally priced 32oz GermX hand sanitizer available. I was surprised to see it after having such difficulty finding any on any site or retail anywhere. I was also surprised to see about 10 other products for cleaning and sanitizing shown. I added some to my cart and went to check out. AFTER I entered my name, email, address, and clicked 'check out', the cart message switched to (approximately) 'sorry this item is no longer ins stock'. So I searched 'sanitizer' again.....and 2 useless products showed up. So I tried again, same thing. I tried 'hand sanitizer'. Still nothing. Feels pretty scammy to me. They posted those products to trick people to set up accounts and grab personal info to resell to advertisers, before telling me the item is out of stock, rather than telling me before leading me all the way through setting up a useless membership i will never use again. "

Great Products, Terrible Packing!

"I order from Boxed, a lot. I average two orders a week. I love their products, great prices but this bunch is by far the worse packers I've ever encountered. Their idea of packing a box is to throw everything in, put some bubble pouches in, and hope for the best. Fully 75% of the boxes I get have something smashed or broken in it. I order heavy items and they always smash smaller items that have been thrown in with them. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out a package of marshmallows is going to get destroyed by an 80 oz bottle of honey when you throw them all in together. I've had large bags of sugar that were totally destroyed. Luckily they were put in a heavy plastic bag. Bottles of honey that were smashed and leaking. Other bottles that were crushed but still intact. Samples of cookies or crackers that were flattened. I've talked to them about it over and over and it continues to happen. So if you order from them, be prepared. If your products arrive in one piece, which does happen occasionally, it's just plain luck."

not good anymore, failure to deliver

"Ordered a wine set but never received them after 1 week. first contacted customer service after the rest of the order arrived but we were just told by Justin: it will be there 2 days after the shipment you received today. What a load of horse cack. The don't even have a phone number so you can talk to a real person. Spent more than half an hour online just to be put on hold most of the time when we tried to get the tracking number. Justin just kept giving us a runaround when we tried to ascertain the shipment date. It turned out they hadn't even shipped the item, which was dishonest of them. Apparently the 3rd party fulfillment never received the notice (or payment?) from Boxed. 2-3 day delivery is a joke: 1 week later still no despatch of the wines. 3 bottled water we ordered were also broken and leaking inside the box. Poor packaging, which wasn't much to begin with. No wonder they broke. Lousy service overall. It's not the like the Boxed 3 years ago. All their BBB complaints were unresolved. Search other reviews and judge for yourself."

Great customer service, interesting pricing

"Their selection isn't as expansive as the B&M giants', but they do carry a lot of the same stuff and seem to be expanding. They have a price match guarantee of sorts but I noticed their quantities for the same product may vary, which may be a technicality that could allow them to skate on price matching. For example, Costco sells Quaker Old Fashioned Oatmeal in 10 lb, whereas they have it in 8 lb. But for stuff that's exactly the same, they are competitively priced. They also have some sort of a rewards program where a "Cash Reward" may be available at time of checkout. I don't quite get it, but I believe it's based on how much you've cumulatively spent with them.

Customer service is great. I placed an order, re-ordering some stuff I didn't need--a mistake I blame partially on myself and partially on their 'cart merge' feature--but when I contacted them
