"I ordered a Sharper Image backpack on August 12, 2011. I was told it was back-ordered until August 25th. It is now September 9th. I called Brylane Home customer service twice in the past week and all they can say is "It is expected any day". They do not update the order status on their website. It just says "Processed for shipment". In one area it says "Shipped 8/15", in another area it says "Carrier: Not yet shipped".
It looks like they are totally disorganized. I am definitely not buying anything from them again.

"RIP OFF- I ordered several items and recvceived (with shipping added even though there was a free shipping code) two replacement pads for a scrub brush. The scrub brush was back ordered twice totaling over 4.5 months. I cancelled the order and was stick with the two replacement brushes for which I paid shipping and would have to pay return shipping. The emails were never responded to and it took a half hour and three calls to get a body to spek with and all they could say was sorry. Avoid this bogus shopping site. There is no one responsible for anything. "

"B E W A R E!!! As soon as you agree to use Brylane's coupon, they sell your information to credit card companies without approval. I received a letter stating that I was pre-approved for their credit card and if I didn't want to continue to receive offers for credit cards, I would have to call 1-***-***-****. Annoyed, I called and got an automated voice. When I selected to discontinue the mailings, they had the nerve to ask for my Social Security number and date of birth! For what reason? I wouldn't give it and I couldn't talk to a real person, so I don't know if I'm off the mailing list. The voice also said that while I would be off their particular list, they had given my information to other credit companies. This should be illegal. The irony is that I didn't even buy anything from them. I canceled the online order because they took too long to ship the item."

" I ordered 90 -piece Storage set
Customer service :I paid 6$ for shipping.
Immediately after placing order i realized there is a slight mistake with my APT number.So I emailed customer service .Next day morning I called them ,they told me they corrected and i will receive my package.But they did not correct it and i did not receive it .I called UPS-called Berlin CS-again UPS -Again Brylane....Finally after wasting around 2 hrs on phone I traveled 10 miles to pickup this package from UPS.

90-PC but more than 30 are so small we can not use them for anything!!
quality- is not so good Very Cheap look
shipping:some of them are damaged.. broken

Total waste of time money!!

"This company has several catalogs which I have ordered from for over a dozen years, some of the merchandise is not up to my standards and my reviews reflect that, But I have never had a problem with customer service, and I have gotten from various catalogs some amazing deals, sometimes on name brands, sometimes up to 60 0r 70% off and I order all the time. I just watch closely and pay attention to the brands but for the most part I am satisfied. They have good promos and deferred payments also, I got an Aubusson wool rug regular priced at $149 for $28!!! I really thought it would be out of stock but I got it and it is beautiful!!! Do not be afraid to order from them just watch and remember if it is too good to sound true beware on any online shopping site.

"My wife ordered a queen size bedset and two pillows, all of which had a bear nature scene. After a few days, we received a UPS delivery. The delivery had the two pillows but no bedspread. The problem was the pillows had a checkered design, not the ones she ordered. She called customer service and told them the dilemma. They told her to send back the pillows using the return material tag included in the original packaging and they would send out the correct pillows. She sent the pillows back the next day. Three days later we got the bedspread which was the right one. On July 1, 2010 UPS brought the package with the two new pillows. Sure enough, they shipped the same checkered pattern pillows they sent out the first time. On 7/6/10, my wife called customer service again. She was informed that an actual human doesn’t fill the orders, but a machine does. The order for the pillows has been cancelled and hopefully the credit card will be credited in a few days."

"STAY AWAY FROM BRYLANE HOME. THEY ARE SHADY.

I ordered three under bed shoe storage kits on November 30. The next day, I received a notice that the item was on back order until 12/15. A few days later, I located a suitable solution elsewhere and decided to cancel the back order, which is where the problem started.

Brylane does not provide a method for canceling an order online even if the order was placed online. On December 7 I emailed them twice requesting my back order be canceled. When I looked at the order status a few hours later, the status had magically changed to "in process". I called numerous times during the week of December 7 to request this order be canceled and their excuse each time was "we can't". Excellent customer service, no?

Finally, on the evening of Thursday, December 10 I spoke to someone who claimed he would forward the cancellation request to the warehouse. He stated that if I checked back on Tuesday, December 15 (the original date given for the back order) my account should show the item as canceled.

Surprise, surprise. It wasn't canceled, but shipped anyway. As far as I'm concerned, they purposely changed my status from "back order" to "in process, no cancellation" when I attempted to cancel. And exactly why does it take 10 days "in process" to ship a package? I shop with many online retailers and have never seen anything like it.

Needless to say, when the items arrive, I'll be returning them. I'm bitter that I'll have to pay for shipping & return of items I tried to cancel. They've lost me as a customer & I'll tell everyone I know not to buy from them.

"Found them on a site recommending good discounts on comforters.
Had good prices and pretty good selection, we wanted new comforters for rarely used guest room. Bought total of 3 comforters as well as an 14 piece Iced Tea Serving set.

I recieved emails saying I placed an order, but did not notice until later that no order number was on the order. I called several days later to find out status of my order. I had recieved no further emails nor confirmation that shipping had occurred. My phone call resulted in getting tracking numbers on the things I ordered and later in the day I was able to track them on line.

When the order was recieve 8 days after ordering, the Iced Tea Serving Set was packed simply in a flimsy grey plastic bag and the thin card board box inside contained a very damaged set with the pitcher and many other items damaged. The shipping paperwork stated and a phone call to the number on the pack slip confirmed that I could return damaged product, but I was responsible for shipping and handling costs and to ship the package back would cost me a minimum of $6.50 which was more than I paid for it. The companies policy is such that anything they ship that is not worth returning to them at a cost of $6.50 does not need to be well packaged.

I have learned a hard lesson not to deal with new online merchants without more research. I would never buy from them again and would tell others not to as well.

"The items I ordered were fine and I got a good deal on them. If that were the end of the story then I would rate my transaction with this reseller fairly high. The problem is, once you are on their catalog mailing list you will NEVER get off of it. I've been trying for six months with no luck. Sure, I can just pitch them, but the company is wasting trees on someone who won't buy from them again. So, if you want to keep the junk mail out of your postal mail box, DO NOT buy from this company."

"Apparently they use 1990 warehouse management facilities because I placed an order with them, however called them the same day to cancel the order. They confirmed that my order has not shipped yet but said "The warehouse was too big to track down my order". First, my order was a 7.5 foot Christmas tree so it shouldn't be hard to find. Second, Amazon.com which is a much larger operation is able to cancel order before shipment, why can't a much smaller operation?

Furthermore their "Satisfaction Guarantee" is the stated on their website as the following:

At BrylaneHome, we take pride in the merchandise we offer and the service we provide. Your complete satisfaction is our top priority. If you’re unhappy with a purchase, simply return it within 90 days of receipt for an exchange, or refund of the purchase amountless the shipping & handling charges. After 90 days, we’ll be happy to send a merchandise credit.

I'm getting sick of companies that are misusing the phrase "Satisfaction Guarantee". What if you made an error in my shipment, am I still responsible for shipping fees? If we don't like the product we still have to pay shipping. How would does this policy lead to a "completely satisfied" consumer? Do they even check their own crap before spewing out this garbage? Is "amountless" even a word?

So Brylane earns a bad review from me for getting lost in its own warehouse and having a ridiculous satisfaction guarantee that is only meant to satisfy its own bank.

Status 11/20/08: I placed the order and subsequently called up to cancel order. Support on phone said that the item \"is lost\" in the huge warehouse and could not be located to cancel.

Status - 11/23/08: My order status shows as "processing for shipment" I sent an email to their customer support hoping that that would be more helpful then the phone support. My order still hasn't shipped and my credit card hasn't been charged so they definitely should be able to cancel the order. I will remove this post pending the order cancellation.

Update 11/25/08: According to the automatic email I received they shipped my order today. They didn't even have the decency to respond to my email! Poor customer service response adds to the list of issues I have experienced with this company.

Update 11/27/08 I received christmas tree today. I am not sure what to do with it since I really don't need it. If I were to return it I would be out $30 dollars (I only paid $70 for whole order) for shipping thanks to Brylan's return policy.

"Sent a defective item. I can understand that but their return policy makes you pay for shipping and handling. This means that they know their goods are likely to be substandard and are unwilling to stand behind their goods. Shop elsewhere. At least Amazon pays return shipping."

"I ordered several things and only half have arrived so far. I have to admit that the first half came very quickly, but we'll see about the second half. What bothers me here is the lack of communication. I ordered a Charleston bed set. When I ordered, I saw that the curtains said "Rod-Pocket Panel Set with Tiebacks". That's the only description available, besides the size. The picture includes a valance and since it said, "set" I wrongly guessed that the valance was included. I'm not sure why because there is no option to purchase a valance. I would have ordered it had it been available. Imagine my surprise when it arrived, vallanceless. Also the sheets did not match the comforter set, even though the shipping sticker said it was part of the Charleston set. Angry, I went to the website, logged in and clicked "previous orders." I expected to see a list of my orders with a link to the item. Again, I wrongly guessed it would do this for me, but it did not. It only lists open orders, or orders not yet completed. I then went to my confirmation email and copied/pasted the item number into the search box. To my amazement, it said I could quick order the item and didn't list a link! I had NO way of finding the item I had purchased without paging through the whole site again. There is just no excuse for that at all. Once I finally found it, I clicked on the zoom button and to my disappointment, the sheets are not very well shown, but a flower is there. The comforter is plaid, but the sheets are floral. Had I seen the teensy tiny flowers, I would've not ordered those sheets. Suffice it to say, I am very unhappy with my order. The only saving grace was the price. I did get a lot for very inexpensive, so I'll likely keep it. I'll see what the second part of my order looks like, and unless they are spectacular, I'll probably never buy from this place again.

== Update ==
I never managed to come back and update this.

I was very displeased. I did receive the rest of my order and it was timely, however, the comforter, sheets, etc. smelled absolutely awful! Remember grandmother's mothball trunk? It was worse than that. I don't know what they had them stored with, but the stench was terrible.

I decided to then wash them to get the smell out and guess what? All of it ripped. The comforter was immediately rendered unusable. It ended up like what happens when you wash a foam pillow. It had lumps all in it. Then the fabric was torn too. The curtains actually shredded apart at the bottom.

When I called the company to ask for a return, they told me that because I washed it I could not get a refund. Because I washed it?! They smelled horrible and I was supposed to just put up with that? Besides, it's quite obvious that the merchandise was defective or it wouldn't have fallen apart.

I will NEVER EVER buy from them again. Here it is a year later and I still get catalogs from them. Apart from the general spam, I want to burn those catalogs. The nerve of them to expect that I would ever buy from them again.

I will be sure to tell everyone I know to stay away.

"I ordered a king size quilt set, but it was so small it wouldn't cover my mattress even though it's only 8" thick. Wanted to send it back using the $5.75 return shipping label, but one was not attached to my invoice. I called to get one so it wouldn't cost an arm and leg to ship, but was repeatedly told "No, we don't send out shipping labels except for the one attached to your invoice." Didn't you hear me? There WASN'T ONE attached. "Sorry, that's your problem" was the reply. I shipped it back but it cost me $14.00 instead. Their stubbornness will keep me from every buying from them again."
