"I placed a order 1/9/2019... immediately registered with building.com to cancel my order, which was around 3:30am. I clicked on button to cancel order. A message popped up I will have to return the product back! They also had a customer service number which gave a email address to contact them that doesn’t work build.com/contact They have business hours 4am to 8pm M-F which isn’t correct. It should not be that difficult for a cancellation especially when it was done within 5 minutes. Very Distut!"
"I ordered a tankless water heater that was unfortunately damaged in transit. I called build.com and got a customer service rep on the line immediately (no hold time!) and she quickly took care of it, offering a refund or a new unit. She followed up and made sure I was taken care of. Really great customer service in spite of the delivery damage (things happen) and I will use Build.com again. "

"I am a custom bathroom contractor and all my buddies told me to stay away from Build.com because back-ordered items never ship on time. But I had to try, what an idiot. Shipping day arrives and I get a notice it will be another month, but they are "very concerned and want to let me know". I have a feeling that somewhere in that large system of theirs they knew a while ago that they weren't going to ship on-time but did nothing. Knowing a week ago would have made all the difference. No customer service, not responsible, and as a result, I am not able to do business with them."

"I just needed a couple of tiles to fill in a space left open during a renovation. The tile isn't readily available anywhere, and many places don't sell sample tiles. I ordered 2 sample tiles (so I'd have a backup). The tiles arrived pretty quickly, but meanwhile I was contacted by Build to see how much of this particular tile I'd need for my project. I thanked them and said I only needed the sample tiles. When the tiles arrived, they were the wrong size, but the right size wouldn't be available for at least another month. Since the space wasn't in an open area, we had the tiler cut 2 pieces to fill in."
"Wine cooler shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. Quality seems good. Doors seal well, good fit and finish. As long as it holds up, no complaints. Would order from again."
"Purchased item, returned and never received a refund! Was told that since I did not call them with a tracking number "you wont get a refund" they also said that "they have no way of knowing who the return came from". This I find suspicious as they knew who I was and my order info from caller id....but could not ascertain who sent something in that had a "RETURN ADDRESS" on the box, as well as their "return label" in the box, and their "return authorization number" on it as well!
Unscrupulous, devious, and unethical business practice and rude to boot!
Was also told that the return instructions state that "w/out the phone call and tracking # no return would be issued"....but all it states in the instructions is that the "return could be delayed"! "
"When the item was taken out of the box, the item was so badly damaged. I then called build.com to tell them the issue and I was offered a return or replacement. Of course i said return. I can't trust the company anymore after looking how badly the delivery service dented the item. Then they had to contact the delivery service to ask them to pick it up first and then i can get a refund. BUT i then found out 2 weeks after my call to build.com that they said it may take the delivery company to pick the item up within 30 days. So after 30 days i will definitely get the refund but if its within 30 days.... i can't do anything. After waiting 30 days i called and followed up. I told the rep that i didn't get any updates nor the delivery service came to retrieve the dryer. I got the credit immediately and said to keep it or dispose it. I was left with a broken dented dryer. In which i had to throw it out myself! The item was left with me 30 days and on top of it... disposing it myself. HORRIBLE service. i will never shop here again."

"Have been dealing with build.com for years and their service has always been excellent. They have consistently good pricing and, very important to me, the amount of inventory shown for each product is accurate. They also seem to have access to an amazing amount of inventory so when I need something it is usually available. Have had very few problems over the years and those that I have had were resolved quickly. Great company and partner."

"I ordered a over the range hood. They sent the wrong model. When I realized the mistake they made they refused to exchange it for the correct one. Unbelievable!"
"I ordered Baldwin door hardware for my home, but the order arrived with some of the hardware in the wrong color. I didn't get to installing the hardware for several months, and they only have a 90-day replacement policy (even when it's their fault!), and it's impossible to speak to somoeone either by phone (impossibly long waits) or by chat! Very disappointing!"
"Building a house is very stressfull, especially when you live in a small town where resources are very limited if non existent. I just get on line @ Build.com and find what I need and in a few days it arrives at my front door. Returns are no problem, no questions asked, but I've only a couple and that's because I ordered too many. "
