"I ordered a sony digital camcorder from them. It was a very smooth transaction. I received the item in 3 days. the item came in an original factory box.their website is satisfied. the customer service is kind, they ask you about additional accessories and some plans but do not insist! for summary they are doing an excellent job! "Very very pleased. Ordered a Sony TRV38 camcorder and was all prepared for the extra sales pitch. The sales rep. asked me if I wanted any accessories, and I said no... gave me no problem whatsoever, I was really surprised! But then he gently pressured me into buying a 5-year warranty for the camorder. The sales rep was less pushy than the rep at CompUSA trying to sell me a laptop warranty and also gave it to me for an albeit a little higher than he could've, but still a great price, at the same time upgrading my shipping from ground to 2nd day. Placed order on Monday, was processed on Tuesday, got the camera on Thursday. Great, would definitely recommend.

A bit of caution - I DID buy a warranty, giving the salesperson a huge commission most likely. I can't vouch for the process had I refused, but from the rest of the reviews, it probably wouldn't have been an issue. Good luck.

"Placed an order on-line for a digital camera on May 23rd. However, I still hadn't received the camera by June 9th. Their confirmation, which was prompt, stated 24-72 hours for processing. When I called the 800 number listed on the confirmation e-mail, I was cycled through 3 different reps. Each rep put me on hold only to be answered by someone new. I lost connection after being put on hold a 4th time and gave up altogether after being placed on hold 25 minutes during a second call that never reached human voice. I called credit card company to cancel the order and request a credit. "

"Excellent experience. Highly recommended.
I ordered a digital camera through the website. Received a "standard" confirmation call. The sales guy "recommended" extra betteries and memory card, but didn't push for it. I only ordered what I need which is the camera only.

Received the product in a few days. Non-eventful experience. I would buy from them again.

"Very nice on the phone, was my first purchase with Butterfly, I would definity order from them again. The price was right, and said it will go out right away. I'll be back to update my review after I've received the product. Extremely Happy with Butterfly! Would highly recomend them to anyone who even hesitates to order from them. I told him my situation where we were leaving on vacation the next week.

I'd also highly recomend the CANON POWERSHOT A70, which I got from them.

"Flawless shopping experience - picked the Minolta s414 for $318. The stores here want at least $399. - ordered on line - great price. Also ordered their 4 piece starter kit for $99. 4 nicad 1800 batteries w/quick charger, small carring case, lense cleaning kit, 128mb cf hi speed card. Next day salesman called and said to tell my credit card company that I wanted to ship to a different address and I did right after talking to Joey. Pleasant person to talk to. Butterfly and Fed Ex both sent me an e-mail with a Fed Ex tracking number. Pretty neat to see the different places my camera had to go before I got it. Got the camera and kit after 2 business days and all in good condition. Shopping experience couldn't have been better. Camera was better than I expected. This will be the same review I will be writing on two other comparison shopping web sites. All three had a green light for Butterfly Photo

"I recently ordered and received a Sony TRV38 camcorder from Butterfly Photo. Their prices are competitive and the web site is easy to navigate. I called my order in. The sales person, Jeff, was courteous. Like most of the online companies they do try to sell accessories, extended warranties and faster shipping. Jeff was professional; when I declined he just summarized the order and hung up. With their $19.99 Shipping expect about a week or less. I will shop again with Butterfly Photo. It is somewhat alienating to order from this type of company because their tone changes if you decline to order additional items. This reseller at least will take no for an answer. Packaging of the shipment is a box around the manufacturer's product box. The camera was factory sealed and in brand new condition. My advice to any person using these sites is to know what you need and not be convinced to buy more. If a sales person is rude or becomes belligerent cancel the sale. Give your credit card number at the end of the sales pitch or you might get items you don't want."

"I placed an order for a Canon G3 on the web site over the weekend. On Monday I got the expected confirmation call and a soft sell on accessories, which I declined. No hassle involved. The camera was shipped that same day and I received the tracking number promptly via e-mail. Camera arrived safely. I chose ButterFly Photo for the great price on the G3 and the lower-than-some shipping cost. All in all, a painless transaction and I'd use them again if they have what I need at the price I want."

"I ordered an Olympus C-5050 digital camera from butterfly photo 3-27 in the morning, it shipped out that night. The camera was listed as in stock,which it was,they did not pressure me to buy any extras. The camera was shipped by ground and I received it 4-1, with all the things that were supposed to be in the box from Olympus.The camera was a very good buy,they were easy to deal with and I would buy from again. The only things that could be improved on are, the packaging and the cost of shipping compared to other companies they seem to be on high side."

"I decided to purchase a camcorder from butterfly.com because they had relatively good
reviews and prices and they are here in nyc so I could deal with them directly if I had any problems.Well they wound up shipping me the wrong thing which thru tracking I saw called back before it reached me.Unfortunatly I had to get on them about reshipping my order.It took a couple weeks total to get my order but I'm sure they lost a couple days from the blizard. Anyway I did receive exactly what was ordered at a good price.
Service could be better but they were courteous
and not rude throughout the process , a higher class group than some of their other competitors in the area. I would possibly use them again .
