"I am very pleased with BuyPlumbing.net. I ordered a steam shower on 10/14/2009. I called the 800 number to make sure the item I wanted was in stock. I spoke to Heather and she showed only one in the warehouse. She called to make sure it was available. Unfortunately the warehouse was closed, so she offered me a upgraded unit that she knew was in stock for only $100 more. She knocked $185 off the regular price. It is 10/16/2009 and the unit has already been delivered. Now this is the way a internet company should operate. I will defiantly buy from this company again. Thanks Heather!"

"Putting in the order was fine – I received a prompt acknowledgment of the order, and detailed invoice when the items shipped along with tracking info. So, we started off on the right foot. Unfortunately, things didn’t stay that way.

I ordered two items – a grid insert for a large sink, and a container of cleaning liquid for the sink. Rather than put both items into a box, they put the bottle of cleaning liquid in a padded envelope, then shrink wrapped it to the box containing the sink grid. Well, anyone could probably guess what happened when it went cross-country via UPS – another box was put on top of mine and a simple padded envelope did not protect the bottle of liquid cleaning solution from breaking. Seems unbelievable that someone would ship a bottle containing liquid like this!

Fortunately, while the padded envelope could not protect the bottle, it did serve a purpose and contained the mess fairly well. The grid (which was about $70) was unharmed; the bottle ($7) was a total loss. So, not a huge deal but still, I expect that when someone ships me an item, they put at least a minimum amount of thought into protecting it from damage, and not just slap it on the side of another box and shrink-wrap it together.

But, stuff happens. I emailed them to see if they would replace the item, but received no response to two emails. That’s a big reason for the low mark – I’d expect some followup when a problem happens.

So, use them with care if you are ordering something that could get damaged in the mail. While the prices, order paperwork/processing, and time to ship are all great, they don’t put much effort into proper packaging, and put no effort into followup.

UPDATE: 9/11 Shortly after posting the review I received a call from Buyplumbing (from Amy). She did something that is so rarely seen these days -- she apologized for the problem! Really unexpected to receive the call, but very much appreciated. She also arranged for a more than fair adjustment, and shortly thereafter I received a replacement bottle of cleaner (packed very well this time!).

Really impressed me -- I'll certainly do business with them again. While mistakes can happen, it's reassuring to know that this company steps up and takes care of the issue."

"BEST ONLINE PURCHASE EXPERIENCE EVER!! - Bought a Blanco kitchen pullout faucet that is cheaper by $100 than the lowest online prices. Received tracking number the next day and product arrived 2 days later. When inspected product, found to have manufacturing defect, so I called customer services immediately. Spoke to Francis, was asked to send picture. After I sent Francis the picture, I called back but she was on the phone. Another rep took my number and said Francis will call back. I never expected that she would call back the same day, and was definitely (but happily) surprised Francis called back after about 15 minutes. Francis arranged for a replacement to be sent out and for the pick up of the defective faucet. The replacement was sent out the next day, the pick up was also the next day. Received the replacement faucet after 4 days (including weekend). EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICES. Will definitely buy again from BuyPlumbing.net when I remodel my two bathrooms in the coming months. "I had read some rather negative reviews on this company, but noticed they had a decent rating on amazon marketplace and their prices were great. I decided to take a chance.

I called to place my order to make sure they had what I intended to order in stock, as it seems they are able to offer such great prices because many of their items are discontinued. The customer service representative was very nice, and I placed my order no problem. I hadn't received a shipment confirmation with tracking number, so a couple of days later I called back and found out that the sink I ordered was shipped the same day I had ordered it and she also provided me with a tracking number. "I have purchased approximately $1000.00 from BuyPlumbing.net without any problems...until I ordered a tub drain for $35.49. I placed an order for 2 drains in July and only received 1. It wasn't until I called the company after receiving my initial order that I learned 1 of the drains was on back order. No information regarding the backorder was listed on the invoice. It appeared they simply left out the item. I patiently waited & in Sept I received the other drain only to find the finish scratched up. I called the company and begged them to check the packaging to verify it was in good condition prior to shipping. Unfortunately that did not happen. The next two replacements we received were scratched up even worse than the previous one. On October 1st, I spoke to "Erin" in customer service. She told me she would call the manufacturer and speak to her manager (who was currently "in a meeting") and call me back. A week later I still hadn't heard back and called and spoke to Steve. He apologized and said he would follow up with me. An hour later he notified me that they told Danze they need to change their packaging. He said UPS would pick up the 3 defective drains I had received and credited me the amount for the drain. I left the package out for UPS to pick up for 8 days and they never came to pick it up. He also told me a new drain would be available for shipping on Nov 7th. On Nov 13th I spoke with Erin again and she promised me a tracking number would be available on the 14th just after they open at 8:00 and I would be notified. On Nov 15th I still had not been notified. I called customer service during the time they say they are open on Saturday--after being on hold for 12 minutes I got the option to leave a message or speak to an operator. I chose to press 0 for the operator and the message came on and stated, "you are now exiting the system" and disconnected the call. I called back and after being on hold for another 12 minutes chose to leave a message. It has been over 2 weeks since "Erin" promised me a new tracking number. No one ever returned my call. I am very disappointed with customer service. The price may be right but is it really worth waiting over 4 months to NEVER get what you wanted and have to deal with empty promises? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY"

"My husband & I are significantly disappointed with BuyPlumbing.net. We ordered 7 Price Pfister Catalina faucets on October 9th for our new house. We received confirmation of our order immediately, and assumed that the long search for affordable faucets was over. However, on October 23rd, we received an odd e-mail indicating that "the item we had purchased was no longer available for purchase." This is almost 2 weeks after we placed our order, which I find ridiculous. This issue has created such an inconvenience for our contractors, and is also delaying the completion of our new home! This company's practices are completely unethical, and show no regard for their customers. Additionally, they are advertising and selling merchandise that they simply do not have. I DO NOT SUGGEST ANYONE PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

This is an addendum to the above review of BuyPlumbing.net. I have received and read the response from this company, and must say that it is both disturbing and somewhat comical. I understand that the company has lost a sense of credibility through my review. However, they have furthered their loss of credibility by indicating that we were verbally abusive or in any manner inappropriate over the telephone. I VERY CLEARLY stated that we received notification via e-mail! There was no phone call. My concerns and dis-accord with this company are legitimate through personal consumer dealings. Customer service is severely lacking, and should be the focus of my complaint. Rather than focusing on my credibility, or indicating that I (a customer) may be ignorant and unable to comprehend that an item is unavailable, the company should use this feedback as constructive criticism. This is an opportunity to increase their own awareness of problems occurring in dealings with their customers. This is not a personal review of any one person, but is an honest depiction of what occurred when I placed an order. It's as simple as that... "
