I soon realized I was in expert hands and could rely on his design experience and expertise to guide me to a design that I would love!"
"I received one without a door attached and another the cabinet box was so broken it couldn't be hung. I ordered FULLY assembled cabinets. Not cabinets where I was required to attach doors. We did receive the missing door, but alas :( it will not go on straight no matter what we do. I suspect it is because the door was not made for our cabinet or at the same time as our cabinet. At NO time did cabinets.com reach out to us and let us know that our delivery would include a cabinet without a door. We just received the shipment with the missing door. When we called the agent did not know where our door was or when we would get a new one.
The other cabinet that we received, with the broken box, we put in a claim to have a new one shipped. We were informed that someone would be communicating with us and calling us to counsel us about what would happen next within 1 to 2 days. We received what appeared to be a generic email listing the items we submitted claims on, and telling us to keep the hardware from the broken cabinet in case it was needed. We waited for over a week or two and never received the phone call we requested. We finally called ourselves and were notified by Lori that we would NOT be receiving a complete replacement m- as in a FULLY assembled cabinet like we paid for. Rather we would be receiving a cabinet box only and we would have to take the hardware and doors off the old broken cabinet and add them to the box they would be shipping to us. When I tried to explain that is not what I purchased and that missing doors and having to take parts from one to fix another is NOT fully assembled, Lori let me know that there is language on the website we should have paid closer attention to, and that although we thought we were paying for FULLY assembled cabinets, in this case where something was broken they would not be resending a full cabinet with doors and that this detail appears in the fine print someplace.
We were also missing a kick plate that I have reported as missing twice to customer service and it still does not appear the piece is being sent, and no refund offered.
Along the way Cabinets.com was able to send automated surveys asking "How was your experience?" but they were unable to update us about the status of our order or when it would arrive. To find this out we had to make repeated calls to customer service where most of the time they didn't appear to know what was going on in the factory. At some point, it is pretty crappy that they can figure out how to send out survey after survey, but they can't figure out how to update the customer who has paid them thousands of dollars.
We also ordered a secondary cabinet, and when we did that, we were explicit and requested they NOT merge the orders as we understood that doing that would restart the clock on our order and our production clock would essentially restart, back at the beginning. They did it anyway. When we called to ask them to undo the merge so our order was not delayed they would not do that.
The customer service agents are very nice and try to be helpful and the cabinets that were not broken that did come assembled are good quality. I think this service could be stellar if they could address a few process issues.
