"DO NOT order from them! i have purchase gps they not sent my item. i call them why, they say my item was cancel. After that i come back cameragiant.com reorder gps and after 3 day i call them, again my item was cancel.
That why i say dont order anything from them."
"I placed an order with Camera Giants, and received an e-mail to call and confirm my order. Shipment was was stated in 1-2 days. When I called to confirm, I was told the camera I ordered was out of stock, and would be shipped in 1-2 weeks. Right away the man asked if I wanted to cancel my order, and I said I would wait for shipment.
I checked back in that time, and no details were listed about my order in my account history, only a the word "backordered." When I checked the site, it said the camera was in stock, but I noticed it was now $75 more than when I ordered. I googled Camera Giants, and there are NUMEROUS complaints of scams, fraud, bait and switch, etc, and they are unaccredited by the BBB. I tried calling the customer service line, and surprise, I could not get through. I cancelled my order on-line, and received no confirmation, and also cancelled my credit card because this is not a site that can be trusted. Lesson learned, research a site before placing an order."
"Same story that I'm now seeing....ordered a Garmin GPS for low price, received email and phone call to verify. They tried to sell me extra unnecessary chargers by using "scare tactics". They said the wire would burn and the GPS unit would probably be destroyed. I asked for further email information, which they refused to send. RUDE! I canceled the order without difficulty. I am now canceling my credit card as I don't trust them at all! I will report them as well, as soon as I figure out who to report ehm to. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!"
"I placed an order for a new Garmin 760. I thought it was strange when I received an e-mail to call in order to complete the order. When I called I was told I needed to purchase an AC adaptor normally selling for $119.00 but today it was discounted to $99.99. I knew that I not only did not need this but that Target sold the same adaptor for $29.95. When I said no thanks he got very rude and then tried to sell me a memory card. After it became obvious that I was not going to purchase the over priced accessorys he said "You will receive it is 3-4 weeks, enjoy". This I also thought strange since I had paid for expess delivery. The next day I received an e-mail stating the Garmin was out of stock and would not be in for 3-4 weeks. I than called to cancel the order and they informed me that their would be a cancelation charge. I explained that I did not believe that a charge was going to happen. When I hung up the phone I called my credit card company and had my card canceled and a new number issued. Camara Giants are Crooks. They false advertise and than try to sell extreamly overpriced accessorys. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid them."
"CAMERA GIANTS IS A FRADULANT SITE... PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM..
I saw a nice priced Sony Camcorder and placed an order online. I got a confirmation email. Whenever, I log in it shows back order. The Customer Service is horrible and anytime I called them, they said that it will take a while. After 2 weeks, when I called today, they said that the item is no longer available and they are going to cancel this.
I will block this site totally and also block any activity from this site for my credit card.
I REQUEST YOU TO PLEASE READ THIS AND NEVER BY ANYTHING FROM THEM "
"Wow unbelievable low price, Yes it was too good to be true. They called to confirm my order because I didn't order any accessories, I said I had what I needed they hung up. I looked on web and my account said the product was on backorder. When I called to find out how long it would be on backorder they hung up on me. I finally got someone and they told me they cancelled the order and hung up."
" You all know the saying: "If it's too good to be true..." The prices are cheaper than anywhere else. This site is a total fraud! My experience was the same as everyone else. In exact sequence. First placed order (felt good about the bargain price for Nikon Coolpix P90), then got email to call Chris to confirm order, called Chris, Chris tried to hard sell overpriced batteries, memory cards, extended warranty, etc, politely declined all, told the order will be processed, check status on their website, BACKORDER, finally had to cancel order. Realizing Camera Giants is deceptive, I had to call my credit card to alert and make sure they don't charge my for the cancelled order. Total Waste of TIME!!! If you don't want to go through this (I guarantee you will if you buy from them), don't bother with Camera Giants. They don't intend to sell the items to you at the advertised price (Bait and Switch technique used by untrustworthy seller), they only sell to you IF you also buy the outrageously overpriced accessories. Come on! Anyone in his right mind would decline a $400 batteries and or $200 memory cards. It's no coincidence that everyone here was saying the same thing. This is how they do business. Scam people. The first sign to run is when you got an email to call Chris, John, Mike, etc. (probably the same person) to "confirm" your order. Anybody who ever ordered online before knows you don't talk to a salesperson after you placed the order. That's why you buy it online. Normally, you just get 2 emails from seller, one for the order confirmed, and another email for order is shipped. BTW, after I cancelled my order with Camera Giants, I bought the same camera from Bestbuy.com and pick up at the store on the same day at $40 more expensive. But that was the $40 I gladly spent for my peace of mind after dealing with Camera Giants. Don't be fooled by low prices and attractive website!"
"Complete frauds. After reading this review I called back and canceled the order. As with others they made deceptive claims about Olympus batteries and when I told them I only wanted the camera in the kit as advertised "William" at ext 209 told me it was back ordered and woulds ship in 4 to 6 weeks. This web site should be linked to any Google search for cameras. "
"I ordered a Garmin Nuvi 850 from Camera Giants on the advice of my brother-in-law. He told me about being pressured into buying "extras" (he did purchase a data card and he did receive his GPS). I was ready when talking to the salesman and said that my dog chewed up my first 850, that I had all the accessories and just needed the unit. The guy stuttered a bit at that and then hung up. Shortly after I received the "We're sorry but our inventory is zero, and you're backordered for 3-4 weeks" email. When I followed the link to their webpage, the first thing that pops up is asking if you want to cancel. Obviously my experience is consistent with all the other complaints - no extras, no product. "
"Camera Giants are scammers - DO NOT buy anything from them. My experience has been the same reported by all other reviewers. Bad, really bad.
They scammed us. Let's unite and tear them down by filing complaints with the following two public offices. We are a large number. If we all file complaints they cannot ignore us. I filed mine today. File yours ASAP. Together we'll take these crooks out of the landscape.

Finally these crooks are out of business, hopefully in jail (which I doubt). Most likely they reopened under a different name."
"The practices of this company are deceptive and fraudulent. Cameragiants (and its alter ego 86StreetPhoto) advertise very low prices on price comparison sites. After I ordered a Garmin navigation system (which, the site mentioned, "usually ships in 1-2 business days), I had to call them to 'verify' my order.
The representative then tried to convince me that I needed to buy an in-home charger with it at $119 (down from $199 - good deal!). When I politely declined, he wanted to sell me an $80 memory card to go with it. When I again declined (and after he insisted some more), he said that the GPS unit was on backorder and that it would take 3-4 weeks before it could be shipped. I could either wait or cancel my order.
Infuriated and protesting loudly I canceled my order. I later read similar stories on the net from other buyers (should have done better research first...).
Don't buy anything from CameraGiants if you just want the product at the low advertised price. They won't sell it to you. Deceptive, dishonest and fraudulent."
"DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE NOT ETHICAL IN THEIR PRACTICES..
I ordered (Canon Vixia HG20 camcorder) camera from Camera Giants Inc. for $499.00, after which i received email indicating that order was held up for verification.. when i called to verify they didn't need verification but used that call for an attempt to Hard sell accessories:(see below for more details)
when i received the unit i looked at the bill, the charges were substantially more than where quoted and when asked for a faxed itemized bill, they refused. he went over the bill over the phone and the totals still did not add up.. i asked him why and he said "i don't know" furthermore, there were several additional made up charges..(Processing fee, handling fee, insurance, etc)in which made the price more than other stores.. i asked him to show me, on his web site, where i agreed to pay those charges when i placed the order and he could not. (he claimed it was in the terms and conditions but he could not lead me to it)
ALSO;;;
Seller indicated that camera would not work without those accessories, when i refused accessories they threatened to cancel order..
they convinced me that i need to buy accessories for unit to work so i reluctantly agreed.(i have never purchased a camcorder so i how would i know)
these are the items i was told that i would need for the camera to work:
1)Battery charger- he said the unit only comes with a power source and it does NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY.
2)long life battery- seller told me that the battery that is included with the unit is a "sample battery" and will only hold up to a 30 minute charge.
After receiving the product i began reading the manual and reviewing the product, it was clear that i did not need those accessories in order for the product to function properly as claimed by the sales rep.. i asked if i could send the accessories back and the sales person indicated a large restocking fee, if i did.
i contacted the better business bureau, hopefully it won't fall on deaf ears.. i'm not sure what else we can do to hold this company accountable.
Before the order i had quickly browsed the internet and this site did not come up.. not sure why, could have been a miss type or something... i also when on the BBB web site and nothing came up either regarding camera giants..there has to be a better way."
"SCAMMERS!!! TOTAL A**HOLES! Right away guy tells me I need a memory card.. Yeah right, 1, YES ONE gb card- $119.00 Dollars!!!&$(!$^ No, I say... then he says I need a charger or you can't charge it... Can you believe this guy! I tell him I just want the GPS, he says you'll get it in a few weeks and hangs up. Check my order status and it's now back-ordered. So, I cancel it... WHAT A BUNCH OF LOW-LIFE SCUM"
"The more I hear about this Company the more that I worry . I ordered a camera on line that cost 265 and was asked to call they to comfirm my Id. then they start to have me buy a battery that I did not need as well as charger which was 519 , the battery and charger cost more than the camera . These people are trying to seperate you from your money, and they should be all put in jail, sooner the better,,despicable people , I have lostall interest in Cameras after this."
"DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION MAY BE SOLD!!!!!!!!!
I placed an order on my credit card for the Garmen 765T - which was advertised as $305 and every other store online was around $499. They wanted me to buy all sort of extras to and I declined only to find that my GPS was on back order like everyone else that has written a review. Three days later I received a call from my bank about fradulent activity. Good looking out from my bank which realized I could not be in Ontario Canada (making a transaction) and then back in my state 15 minutes later making another transaction - gotta love credit protection! Anyways seems kind of odd that after placing my order I received this call from the bank about the fradulent activity. Also, I could not find any address on where this company was located anywhere on their website - this may be a clue in the future whether or not this type of website is suspicious of being a scamsite.
