"STAY AWAY!!!!
I ordered my camera on 5th of February 2010 and was told that the camera will be with me by next working day. 3 days after I still didn't have my camera and rang them again only to find out that they didn't have my camera in stock, even tho it says "in stock live" on their web site. So I was ok to wait a little longer since the told me I will get my camera by Tuesday next week. So, as I didn't get my camera by Tuesday, I have contacted them again to hear the same story: they don't have it in stock. But on their web site it still shows as "in stock". Asked them to refund the money, will see how long it will take.

"I strongly warn others from buying from this company which is not at all serious.
I bought a digital camera from their webshop from my home in Denmark. And I payed with my Visa. After a few days I received an email saying that there was a problem with the order, and that I should contact Camerabox by phone. And here it started:

More than two weeks of frustration trying to call them. Leaving messages. No one calls back. I tried to solve the problem by mail, but they insisted that it could only by solved by phone.

More than once I asked Camerabox to cancel the order and pay my money back, since they could not fulfill their part. And here is the most serious complaint: Camerabox had problems proceeding with my order. But they had no problems what so ever draining my account for the amount to be payed. Which in my opinion is very serious: No decent company draw money from your account before they are ready to dispatch your goods.

After the two weeks of increasing frustration and failed attempt to reach the company I have now asked my bank to withdraw the money transferred. That was my first and last time to deal with Camerabox.co.uk

"I have had an appalling experience with this company (actually their sister company, Digital Camera Co. Ltd)and will never use them again. My advice to others is to avoid.
I ordered a camera for my son on the 6th december. I followed up with a phone call and was told it would be with me in 24 hours. No camera arrive phone again. Took an hour to get through and was put on hold for 20mins. Eventually told that they coulnt find payment and that they were cancelling the order. I checked with my bank and payment was taken. Called again and they found payment. They said the order was reinstated and was to be shipped that day. Several calls later and many promises and no camera. They refused to put me through to a senior manager. The MDs name is Mike Watkins but apparently he does not take calls. Need to write to him at PO Box 20, Thame, Oxfordshire. Tried to get through again today. They are now cutting off calls while you wait for an agent. Worst online experience ever. Avoid at all costs.

"DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE !

Update 15/01/2010
Just had a call from our Bank... They informed us that the credit card we used at Camera Box had been use fraudulently... read into that what you will. I see several other people have had their details stolen so it's more then just a coincident.

Finaly got my refund after writing to their PO Box address as advised by Traiding Standards.

Still waiting for them to refund my account - having to get Trading standards etc involved now.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPE - they are bunch of cowboys

I placed an order based on their Live Stoke level & delivery date. The order was for a Canon 70 -200mm F2.8 IS Lens. I placed the order on Monday and I was told I would have it the next day and based on this agreed to a shoot on Sunday. I stayed in all day Tuesday for the delivery which never arrived. I have had to phone them countless times and each time I was told a different story.

They have continually lied and when I asked to speak to a manager they said there wasn't any managers in on Wednesdays - they wouldn't even give me the name of a manager. I have just cancelled the order to find that they had already taken the money out of my account for something they didn't even have, let alone despatched. I have to now try and get my £1,300.00 back off them.

So as not to let my client down I'm having to hire the lens for the shoot on Sunday.

My advice to anyone thinking of purchasing from Camerabox .... DONT !!

P.S. For 2 days I was being told that they were out of stock and this "wonderful Live stock they advertise " was still claiming to have 2 in stock for next day delivery .

PPS - don't get them confused, as I did, with thecamerabox USA who seem like a very professional organisation.

I used my Visa card (card was new)first time when I ordered for camerabox. Somebody had stolen my visa card number when I made order for you (camerabox). He or she made 1500euro shop for William Hill Ltd. I think at this person working camerabox. Same proplems has been also at other peoples who ordered camerabox. You can read this finish net site.

"Terrible experience with this company ordered a product and spent 2 months chasing it with only excuses about its been ordered.Decided to check with manufacturer and found that Camera Box had not even ordered it and had nothng outstanding when I contacted the compnay all they could say was sorry and have a refund ! 2 months delay after they promised 1 week and had my money for that period too do yourself a favour and buy from some one else."

"I was very sceptical of online purchases, and I gave it my first try on camerabox.uk. Following a very successful purchase on camerabox.co.uk, I decided to buy another camera as a gift. Although the process took a bit longer due to some unforseen circumstances, I was yet again very satisfied with the customer service, efficiency and quality of the product. "Asked for black camera, silver sent, upon arrival the box was badly damaged so returned with courier. Called camerabox some 10 times and still no return call or answer from their "Team" I think this is a tin pot organisation with no help dest or customer support as provided with their invoic. "Ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS7 from camerabox, as they were way cheaper than anything else.

Arrived quickly and was in good condition. However, it appeared that all the packaging had already been opened.

Also, my bank called me up a couple of days later to confirm some suspicious transactions on my credit card, including a rather curious £1 charge for Oxfam. They told me fraudsters do this to confirm the card is working.

I'm not suggesting camerabox were responsible for charging the card, but just putting this out there in case someone else has a similar experience.

"Camerabox is quite cheap store, so you should be ready for suprises. I am from Latvia, prices in our internetstores are much more higher and some goods are not availible here at all, so as Camerabox is shipping all over EU by DHL at very low costs - it helps me to get camera goods quite cheap and fast. Have bought 3 times in this store - all products received, but as they sending goods in manufacturer boxes without additional packing - all received boxes had small damages on surface of boxes. Suprises from last delivery: address in DHL waybill was not full, so i had to contact them to inform about correct address, and instead of "Uniross" battaries they send "INOV8" battaries with same capacity (this option was mentioned when i made order). in any case i am satisfied due to i got goods which i could bought here in Latvia"

""You buy cheap, you buy twice," goes the old saying. That is certainly true of this retailer.They screwed-up the order and mailed it to the wrong address. Although it was not my fault and I have not received any product, they are refusing to return my money. I had to buy another one from Amazon. It is certainly not worth dealing with Camerabox to save a few pounds. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!"
