"Wow. I have never seen so many pithy 5-star reviews interspersed with so many 1 and 2-star reviews. It is rather hard to believe that so many people are giving 5-stars for fast delivery and great customer service, when most of the others complain about incredibly slow delivery and poor customer service. I guess the CellPhoneShop employees write most of the 5-star reviews! If a company salts the mine I wonder what other deceptive business practices they engage in???"

"Terrible Service! Over 10 Days to ship a simple phone battery to NY!! Their stuff ships from Hong Kong, what a joke! Good Luck getting anything in a timely manner. "I see a high rating for this store, and I would have been one of the people that agreed after my first two orders.

However, I have a story that goes against majority opinion here and I feel you need to consider it.

These people are total crooks when you decide you have a problem with the stuff they send you.

The story begins, but is not centered on me ordering three Blackberry microUSB data cables from them at the end of last year.

One of the three was bad, but I didn't find out for several month. That is my bad for not testing them right away.

They didn't want to refund me, but offered me store credit because of the amount of time that went by. That was fine.

I returned the cable to them, and they acknowledged receiving it.

Turned around and they put a $6.64 credit back into my checking account for the cost (at the time of purchase) of that one defective cable.

All good so far.

Next, I ordered from them three of the same exact Blackberry microUSB data cables (because I wanted two more than what I had before) and also a very cheap green laser pointer.

The total cost to me of the four new items I ordered was $28.16

All the trouble began as soon as I received this last order (the absolute last one I will ever place with them). The cables I received weren't even Blackberry cables (they were LG-branded) and they were NOT DATA cables. Power only. So a pretty poor bait and switch that wasn't even close.

The laser pointer (you get what you pay for, sometimes even less) lasted one day. Turned it on perhaps 10 times and the laser burned out.

So, the order was a complete disaster.

When I notified them of this, I expressed how disappointed I was they bait-and-switched me on the cables and I demanded a full refund of my $28.16 because of what I felt was an intentional bait and switch and I wasn't about to accept any deal that had me taking the loss on shipping cost of that screwed up order to me. I even wanted my cost to ship back to them refunded, which I felt was reasonable in that case.

They agreed to refund my entire cost $28.16, and they even agreed to refund my cost to ship back to them ($4.33). I have emails to this effect.

I sent back and they received it.

Then they only refunded me $21.52, which means they confiscated the $6.64 refund for the defective cable I returned from the previous order and they reneged on refunding my cost to ship to them after they promised to.

I went through a lot of emails with them and PayPal, since they manipulated the transaction on PayPal to make it look like I had already received $6.64 of the $28.16 they charged me.

It took me until today until PayPal finally could see what happened and agreed to refund me the $6.64 and they are investigating CellPhoneShop to see why they didn't give me a full refund after what they (I felt intentionally) did to my order.

These people insist they never refund shipping under any circumstances. But I beg to differ...when the transaction involves bait and switching, they set up the reason you are having to send the stuff back to them and the perfect reason you do not have to trust them anymore and be forced to accept any deal from them, so you do not have to settle for ANY cost, including the shipping cost they insist they are never responsible for.

It's bad enough I had to pay $4.33 to send that crap back to them, but there's no way in hell they are not on the hook for any shipping they charged you to send the screwed up order to you.

Do not buy from CellPhoneShop.

You will eventually run into this kind of situation, and then find out how nasty they get when you insist they hold themselves 100% accountable for their mistakes and not try to make you shoulder some of it.

They think their mistakes should be cost free...sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You screw up, you pay.
