"They said my debit card was declined, but it wasn't. Turned out it had to do with a discrepancy between 5 vs 9 digit zip codes. They were very cordial explaining to me it was a bug in their software and they were working to fix it. Other vendors (who presumably use the same vendor's transaction s/w) have the same problem. Using Paypal solved the problem for me."
"This is for an order I made in January, 2010. Ordered a hard-to-find power supply from CensusPC. Decided to replace the CPU fan at the same time. No drama. Placed the order and it came. Stuff worked. That's the way it should be.

"A power supply in one of my old HP's went out and i wanted to order the same one for consistency. So, I ordered the Bestec ATX-300-12Z BD for the HP. However, I was sent the ATX-300-12Z BC. The two power supplies are basically the same thing, just a different revision of it. I called censusPC about the error and they basically said its the same thing so there is no error. The BD and the BC revisions are the same, so they did no wrong. I have issues with this because i think when one orders a product they should get that product, not a similar alternative. I have no problem with using the one they sent, but it would have been nice to get a email notice that explained that the one I order wasn't in or couldn't be sent and asked if it was okay to send the alternative. This is a very shady business practice, in which, I am basically stuck with a product a did not order regardless of how similar it is. All in all, I don't know if i would ever order from them again based on this switch without notice."
"Their website listed a case fan as in stock. Most sites were out of this fan so I checked their website again the day after ordering and it was now listed as discontinued. I emailed the company to ensure I would get the fan, which they already charged my card for. I got an email from a 3rd party vendor telling me they didn't have the fan. I eventually got an email from CensusPC stating there was 1 left and several orders came in at the same time for it. They said I'd get a refund. I don't know if I'll buy from them again because I don't believe their story of 1 left and several orders at the same time."

"I had a very poor exprience with this company. I had ordered a stick of memory from them, which turned out to be incompatible with the existing memory in my system. When I attempted to return it I had to make two attempts to get an RMA REQUEST answered. Following this the request was declined with a statement saying they will not accept returns on memory. This statement also included a reference to this policy in their check out process. I typically check for this type of statement and didn't remember seeing one, I also went back to the web site and could not find one. I then requested that the company show me where this statement was on the web site, I got a response with a non-functional link. Based on this I am assuming the company actually DOES NOT inform customers of this policy prior to purchase and will not be dealing with this company again."
