"This is my first time shopping with Chef's Resource. The site isn't the most user friendly in terms of the look and feel of the interface but I didn't have any trouble finding the items I wanted.
I purchased some open stock All Clad. I appreciated the layout of all the items, starting with sets and then moving down in to specific item types by group. Having the different lines of All Clad clearly grouped together was helpful as well. It was much easier to find what I wanted here than on a site like Amazon or some other multiple type product resellers—those sites tended to randomly post all of their All Clad items in a hodge podge manner that requires one to open a bunch of links to see what is actually being offered and trying to figure out how they compare. I didn't buy a set but found the descriptions of the benefits of each and differences between quite useful; much more so than what I read on other sites.
There is a ton of product on here and it's obviously intended for the user who has a pretty good idea of what they want. While the individual descriptions of items is very good, it's not as if they are giving advice as to why one knife brand is better than another. Presumably the clientele already knows what they want.
I felt the prices for the All Clad were reasonable. The prices on the sets were quite good, especially with some of the Christmas specials, but none of them were right for my household. I bought enough to qualify for a free lasagna pan. I can't imagine ever using All Clad for baking, personally, so it will probably end up as a gift for someone with a new kitchen. I would have preferred some other kind of pot or pan but it's hard to complain about free and I would have made my purchase regardless.
I did a little browsing and found an item for my Le Creuset collection that I have never seen at my Le Creuset store or at any other cookware store. The price was a little high, relative to what I usually pay at the Le Creuset store but considering I've never seen this piece and had an existing need for it, I was happy to find and pay for it.
One of the items I wanted was listed incorrectly on the site. You could put it on a wish list but not in your shopping cart. I indicated this on the comments when I placed my order. They contacted me the same day to let me know they would adjust my order as well as fix the site (which they did!).
I got a message fairly quickly (maybe one and a half days later--I wasn't checking my e-mail that regularly as I was at a conference) that an item was backordered and a request to let them know if I wanted the entire delivery held until that item came in or whether I would prefer the majority of it sent now and the other item later. Once I let them know my preferences, the bulk of my order was delivered in two days. I think this was one day longer than indicated on their shipping map (I live in California) but given that it's December and the items weren't for gifts or urgent, it was not a big deal.
The individual items were all nicely packed in one large box and everything was perfect when I opened it up.
I have access to a great kitchen store right around the corner for smaller things—I probably wouldn't want to pay for shipping or wait for delivery for those sorts of things. I would definitely use Chef's Resource again for larger/higher priced items, however. I was very pleased with the experience overall."

"This order included a large commercial cookie sheet and a Stainless Steel French roasting pan-both gifts for a serious home cook. I received the items promptly in 5 days. I unwrapped the items today to gift wrap and found that I had received the wrong cookie sheet. Gil, at customer service acknowledged their error and is shipping me the originally requested cookie sheet (which is on backorder but should work out for shipment to me before Christmas). I was assured that I could call back and check on the item and was given Gil's direct line to do so. I am so pleased how well this error has been rectified. I barely got a word out before I was told how the situation was going to be handled. If the right cookie sheet does not arrive on time, I still have the wrong one to wrap for my son the cook/baker with the assurance that the right one is on it's way. I also was told to keep the wrong cookie sheet at no cost to me. How professional----great customer service!

"This is the first time I have placed an order with Chef's Resource. I ordered a 5.5 Qt Le Creuset French Oven, which unfortunately arrived damaged with some of the enameling chipped off. I called customer service and they were very nice to work with and said they would send a new one out right away and all I had to do was to leave the original package out for UPS to pick up. It was all very easy. The new one came in 3-4 days and was packaged well and in perfect condition. I really appreciated how easy it was to return the damaged item. I didn't even have to leave the house! I don't hold that against them. Things just get damaged in the mail every now and then. I will definately shop with Chef's Resource again. "
