It seems that companies can't duplicate in LED the subtle twinkling effect of incandescent twinkling. So if you are looking to replace twinkling for trees,these aren't the replacement. A big However - these would be perfect for outside displays or anywhere where you need bright, beautiful clear sort of twinkling lights. The "twinkling " bulbs are just blinkling- spaced far enough away from the steady lit ones to give a twinkle like effect. I am going to use these in the garland in my living room. Perfect for that job. I would definitely buy these for any decorating, as I love bright lights, just not on my trees where I prefer the incandescent twinkling. This is great place to buy your lights."
