"You can ignore the "in stock" status displayed on product pages. It's a lie. I placed an order for two printers yesterday (Jun 8), and the website told me they were in stock. Hours later, I got an email telling me my order was "On Hold" with no explanation or reason. When I called this morning to find out why, they said the printer was actually "Out of Stock, no ETA" in their computer. Odd, the website STILL says "In Stock", and strangely, the price has gone up $100 since I placed my order yesterday. So clearly the product page has been updated overnight, but the "In Stock" status has not. Note that yesterday's price wasn't listed as a "sale" price, either. They simply chose to increase their price on the product by $100 (exactly) overnight, even though the item is "Out of Stock, NO ETA". I do have to give the customer service dept. credit for answering the phone quickly and canceling my order promptly.
UPDATE: 6/11/10 in response to CompuBizUSA response. These guys are habitual liars, it seems. I wasn't EVER offered an upgraded model at a reduced price. EVER! I was offered a REFURB model of the same printer for a reduced price. I declined because I had already bought a NEW one elsewhere for a LOWER PRICE. Oh, and I'm sure this ancient printer is in high demand, so they happened to sell multiple on the same day I happened to order mine. Whatever. Still can't explain the fact that 24 hrs later the price was $100 more and the item still said "IN STOCK" can you?"
