"1/3/05: Order for case, CPU, and motherboard placed.
1/5/05: Credit card charged for full amount.
1/6/05: Order shipped.
1/10/05: Call in because FedEX tracker says a single package of 5.6lbs was shipped. Shipment should be at least 30lbs. Lady says to wait because more unlisted packaged may have shipped.
1/12/05: Received motherboard delivery only. Invoice states all three items shipped, and were in stock. Invoice says returns are only accepted within 5 days of purchase. These five days were used up before I received the motherboard! I cannot check the motherboard either until I receive the other items.
1/15/05: Call in for info on other packages. Given original tracking number. After told it is the original, put on hold from 11:13 to 11:20. Told the other items were never shipped, and they will be shipped today. I’ll be getting another tracking number, and the order will be “expedited.” After hanging up, checked the website – the CPU is now out of stock, and price dropped $20. Case is in stock.
1/19/05: Call in to check shipping status. Told the items have been shipped. I should be getting a tracking number soon.
1/21/05: Still no email with tracking number. Call in, told the items will ship on the 24th.
1/25/05: Package shipped. FedEX tracker reports a single 1.9lb package – this must be the CPU. Hopefully there is another “unlisted” package with the case. ComputerBrain cannot match the lower CPU price because the original is what I ordered it at. This makes no sense because the CPU I ordered was not in stock, so the later, cheaper batch is the one that actually has my CPU in it. One would think that the company would attempt to gain customer loyalty even if that were not the case, because this has so far taken three weeks more than it should have, and it is not over yet.
Only time will tell if the motherboard works. It is missing one of the supposedly included SATA power connectors, and the SLI selector was not in the factory default position. This means the motherboard might be a return.
I will update as things progress.

The case was just the case box with a UPS Brown label slapped on the side; the box was beaten up, but the case was okay. The processor was well packed with airbags. Both came on different days, but everything works so far, so at least I won't have to deal with anything else. By the way I paid for "silver" packaging. The case and motherboard were hardly "silver.""
