"I ordered a camcorder and received and email saying I need to call and confirm my order or it would not be shipped. When I called they told me the camcorder I ordered did not come with a battery, but they could add one for $180. I told them that is a lie I have purchase d the same exact camera and it comes with a battery the guy told me this is not Best Buy and he was going to add it anyways. When I told him to cancel my order I don't want anything from them he kept repeating he was not cancelling it and the battery and camcorder would be shipped out and hung up. When I called back I told them i didnt know what type of fraudelent business they were running, but they needed to cancel my order and send me a confirmation email letting me know it was cancelled. They hung up on me three times so I also replied to original email they sent letting them know they need to cancel my order. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!!"
"First of all, if it seems too good to be true IT IS!! I recently purchased a camera then I received an email saying I needed to call them to confirm my order. When I spoke the guy (he said his "real name was Scott") and he asked if I wanted the international or U.S. model which is more money and I chose the U.S. model. They told me my package was going to be here TODAY but my tracking number shows my package has been in Brooklyn since I made the purchase (about 6 days ago). I called today to cancel my order and the customer service guy was extremely rude and unprofessional!! He began cussing at me because I told him I wasn't comfortable with their service because I read bad reviews and he flipped out and wouldn't let me speak and he said "Im the one who has your money so who you gon' trust?" than he hung up on me. They are two guys and they are scam artists and I encourage everyone to stay away from this company. A customer should never be cursed at and spoken to so rudely. "
"First: DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. THE PRICE ADVERTISED IS NOT THE REAL PRICE. IF YOU ALREADY PLACED AN ORDER, CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND BANK AND TELL THEM TO REVERSE THE CHARGES B/C THEY ARE FRAUDULENT. I'll explain...
I was looking to purchase my first camera and when I Google searched for the Canon I wanted, CrispDeals showed up as $445, which was significantly lower than all other vendors (even Amazon). Sure enough, it was too good to be true.
I placed the order, then received this email: http://screencast.com/t/xnuJggvfIXqg. The email said: "For your security we need to verify your order, please call us at ***-***-****, ext 860 to provide a verbal confirmation so that we can ship out your product. If we do not hear from you this order will not be able to be processed."
I called them and the guy said I would need to purchase a memory card and battery to complete the order. This added another $168 to my order. He then said the credit card company put a hold on the order. His instructions were: "Call the credit card company to have them lift the hold. Once they do, call us back and we'll put the order through."
We called the credit card company and lifted the hold, but I started doubting my purchase, so I didn't call them back to tell them to process the order. Welp, they did it anyway without my permission.
I called to cancel the order, and the guy said: "The order was already shipped, so you'll have to return it."
I said: "Will I have to pay a restocking fee and shipping costs?"
He said: "Yes, you will have to pay a fee. You can call us back when you receive your order to find out how much you'll have to pay."
I continued to question him because this wasn't sounding right, and he became agitated, interrupted me, and then said: "Are you gonna keep talkin' over me, or are you gonna let me talk?"
I was in shock. I ended the conversation, and we called our credit card company to report them. Luckily, they blocked the charge. So, my advice to you: Don't buy from them. IF YOU ALREADY PLACED AN ORDER, CALL YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND REPORT THE CHARGES AS FRAUDULENT SO YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK. "
"I bought a camera from crispdeals.com. called them half dozen times about shipping status, got responses in line of excuses, delaying tactics. Finally after 42 days since my order, they told me the order was canceled. I questioned them why they canceled my order and not informing me after cancellation; the guy on other end of phone hung up. The "
"UNBELIEVABLE. I called with a simple question, spoke with a power-seller who talked me into a package over the phone. Changed my mind an hour later.... got a recording, left a message, sent a return email stating my order changes.... to no avail. Called again the next business day. The guy stated that he could send me a couple other items, second package.... after looking around for an hour I resolved to find out how I could return my items. After waiting for 8 minutes on the phone, the guy told me the second package had already been mailed, the postal service picks up every hour... what a lie! Then he led me to their return policy on the bottom of the webpage. They charge a 15% restocking fee for returns (plus I would have to foot the shipping). This would cost me over $170.00 just to return the items. What a crock! BUYERS BEWARE!!!!"
"WARNING!!! Do not waste your time ordering anything from CrispDeals! Here are the top 5 red flags / very good reasons to completely avoid this small-time, deceptive, bait-and-switch, bad-joke of a company:
1. The other critical ResellerRatings reviews are accurate. CrispDeals absolutely does falsely advertise unrealistically-low prices that come up in Google searches for your item. But after you place your order on their website, instead of processing it they instead send you an e-mail that states, "For your security we need to verify your order, please call us at ***-***-****, ext 860 to provide a verbal confirmation so that we can ship out your product. If we do not hear from you this order will not be able to be processed." Buts that's pure B.S. It is only part of their bait-and-switch operation. When you call them (it's really only two guys/scammers) they try to sell you additional accessories and an extended warranty. If you decline to purchase anything more they just tell you what you want to hear, hang up and never process your order. This is because they CANNOT make a profit at the crazy-low prices they advertise online.
2. Every time you call back to question your order status, they stack on more lies and tell you what you want to hear and quickly hang up on you before you can say anything else or ask any further questions. This happens every time you call back. And that is because your order will never be processed since you refused to buy anything else from them.
3. On every page of CrispDeals.com there is a claim that states, "Shop with confidence. ALL ITEMS ARE BRAND NEW, FACTORY SEALED, COMPLETE WITH ALL ORIGINAL ACCESSORIES AND FULL USA WARRANTY.” However, they told me that the item I tried to order is not a U.S. model and does NOT come with a full USA warranty. And they also tried to sell me accessories that the manufacturer already includes with the item!
4. They hide behind a CHICAGO, IL phone number, yet they are actually located in BROOKLYN , NY.
5. Their website looks legit but don't let that fool you. These guys are shameless, wanna-be scam artists... but they aren't even good at it! They're nothing but exceptionally bad liars.
I've just saved you a ton of time and infuriating frustration. You're welcome."
"When it sounds too good to be true, trust your instincts, it is. I ordered a Canon camera on 12/18 and did not receive a confirmation email. I did make sure to save and print the order when making the purchase. I get an email 2 days later stating to call them to verify my purchase. I called and man tells me I need to call my bank as the account was "plugged" when they tried to charge. That was odd, I knew my account was in excellent standing. I called my bank and they said no charges were filed by CrispDeals or any camera dealer for amount I estimated. I called CrispDeals back and the same man said "oh, let me try it again" and "by the way your camera doesn't come with a battery, I can include a 2 hr or a 5 hr battery, I can add that in for an additional $20". I told him no, that was not necessary but he was so pushy I did finally say fine. I soon get an invoice from them with a significantly higher purchase amount from original order which I had saved. Unbelievable. I sent email notice I wanted purchase cancelled as it was not price I had agreed on. No response to that, so I called them this morning and a man who named himself Reggie Walker. I told him I want to cancel purchase and full credit card refund because of their questionable business practices and the fact they are likely not selling me a genuine Canon camera. Initially he said fine, but then he started telling me how it cost so much more on Amazon, and just wanted to make sure I knew what a great deal it was. I was firm I wanted a refund. He said fine and started to hang up. I said "are you going to hang up on me now, like the every other time I was when I called?, I want something in writing." He said you'll get that when it's processed in 7-10 business days. I told him I wanted it processed today to which he then responded "ok then I'll make it 30 days, that's how long we have". I told him I was going to report him to BB to which he said "fine, tell whomever you want anything you want, my name is Reggie Walker #861, I dont' have time to entertain you anymore so bye" and he hung up. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS SCAM SELLER. "
"I ordered a Nikon 5500 with a 35 mm lens
it was shipped via USPS and I was able to track the shipment
took about a week to arrive. I was ok with that since there was no shipping charge.
They did end up charging me for the battery and sd card.
but it was all still less than what I found on other sites
I spoke several times with Jeffrey and he was very helpful
I did tell them the initial shipping and processing could be explained a little better but overall I am satisfied with my purchase
I am going to purchase another lens soon and will order from CrispDeals again
Dan"
"Buyers beware. Very negative shopping experience. I purchased a camera which was going to be a gift so time was important. I purchased ten days ago and have contacted them multiple times since then asking for a tracking number. They do not want to hear any extra questions and hang up on you if you try. Do yourself a favor. Stay away from these shady sellers. Tell everyone you know the same. Dishonest people. They have promised me I will see tracking information in one hour. Its been days and every time I call they keep promising and breaking there promises and do not want to listen to your concerns."
"*** Total Scam ***
Do not do business with these people. I ordered a camera on Nov 28th for a Christmas present. I called twice to verify that it would be delivered before Christmas and was even give an exact delivery date. When I called back the third time, I was told that it was delayed form their supplier and would not arrive until January. I was expecting the typical bait and switch but I never even got to that point since they didn't have anything in stock to ship. Calling to get any info takes forever. The hold times are ridiculous and the same guys answered every time. Probably one guy working out of his basement."
"CrispDeals had the best price on a Canon EOS camera so I ordered it online. A day later I received the following message:
For your security we need to verify your order, please call us at XXX-XXX-XXXX to provide a verbal confirmation so that we can ship out your product. If we do not hear from you this order will not be able to be processed. Thank You, -CrispDeals
I called the number and after being on hold for long time a sales rep answered and told me I needed to purchase a battery separately. Not cool for obvious reasons so I cancelled the order.
"
"Bait and switch! Ordered a Nikon lens. Got email stating they needed to verify my order. When I called the guy first told me the lens was for a video camera, then that I needed to order the retail model for $60 more. I cancelled. "
"Ordered a camera from Crisp Deals as they appeared to have the lowest price. They sent an e-mail a couple of days later asking me to call to verbally conform my order. I did that and was disconnected twice. The third time I called I was put on hold for about 10 minutes but finally a person answered. He was polite but he said "which battery do you want, the 2hr or 4 hr?". I told him that surely that battery comes with the Canon camera? he said not with the Wholesale version, only with the Retail version. I asked how much the battery would cost and he replied that it would be better to order the retail version as that includes the battery, the charger and a full USA warranty. I asked the price and it was about $100 more that what I had paid. Basically, the price listed on their web site is not for a complete camera and it is misleading to say the least. I argued a bit and he did offer to cancel the order, which i did. I will not be shopping with them again - lesson learned!"
"Buyer beware - Shady operation. Ordered Nikon D3300 on their site for $305.00 final (product, shipping, tax). Received email next day saying that I must call to confirm order. I did so and after confirming address etc., he tried to sell me a battery. I was confused by this b/c I was under the impression that one was included from the manufacturer. When I declined, he said okay and then stated the final total is $340. I questioned this and he said that the extra charge was related to insurance. I didn't agree to insurance and when I said that, he responded with "that's okay, I'll cancel your order and you can continue shopping. Maybe you'll find a better deal elsewhere". "
"I ignored the bad reviews but now I know better. Scam selling non-US version inferior merchandise. Emails to them are returned to sender. I called and first guy was not rude but close to it, the 'account manager' was a real jerk. I just wanted confirmation of my order as when you place your order there is no receipt or confirmation and you NEVER get an email. Nothing, no way to know if they even got your order. Nothing to print to prove what/when you ordered. So thankfully I called because first thing he asks is if I want what I bought OR the US version that comes with accessories, aluminum body and a warranty. All these things are listed with what I bought but he says not. NOWHERE does site say this is an international version. So I ask 'is the part number 1519?' He replies 'there is an international and a US version'. 'Yes, I understand but are they both part number 1519? Like I bought and your site lists?', 'There is an international and a US version'... this repeated like 5 times. He wouldn't say if it was part number 1519. Why? Because I bet it wasn't. He says it clearly states it everywhere and if I want to read it and get back to him, he's busy and doesn't have time to talk about it. So I narrowly avoided getting an non-warranteed non-US plastic body POS. And who knows what other features are missing. Total scam. Run away. Trust me."
