"I wish I had found this review site before I ordered, because the same pattern of stonewalling seems to be part of their procedures, including the same people who are mentioned in other reviews. Their prices are fine, but their service was so bad that I'd never order from them. Here's a summary of my experience:
I ordered two pairs of the same style Levis, both in size 8, but different lengths and colors. The two pairs were a complete size different around the waist, hips and thighs: one a correct 8, the other a full size bigger, in fact, exactly the same as the 10 in the same style I already had. I called before returning the pair that was sized wrong to make sure they'd credit my shipping, but instead, they charged me an additional $7. When I called about it, the customer service department insisted that the size was correct but after I insisted that the sizes were wrong, they went to measure several pairs of the style of jeans I ordered and FINALLY admitted that they varied. No apology, and it was pulling teeth all the way, with them hanging up on me, putting me on hold for over 20 minutes, throwing the call on mute, using an exasperated tone when it was their mistake all along -- they were rude, incompetent and full of made-up excuses. Mistakes happen, but how you take care of them is what counts, and they were terrible!"

"This email sums up the experience
I recently took a chance and made an order through your company. I ordered three items. One for my son, one for my daughter, and one for myself.
When the items were received, the items for my children were the items I ordered, but they were too big. I would have kept them but the item I ordered for myself came in the wrong size. I ordered a 6M. When I tried on the jeans, I first noticed they were tighter than usual. Additionally when I looked down, they were about 2 inches above my ankles! I took them off, looked at the tags, and the tags, both sewn in as well as the paper tags attached indicated that they were 6 Petites!
I shipped all three items back on 3/21/05 and indicated on the order return sheet that two items were just too big. I indicated that the jeans I ordered for myself were the wrong item and that you shipped petites in error.
On 3/24/05 I verified that you received the return and were processing the credit. On 3/28/05 I noticed a credit for the total amount less the $6.00 shipping. I called and spoke with Lee. She said the paper work indicated that they sent the correct items. I advised, I can’t speak to her paperwork, but the jeans were petite and were labeled that way. She was to check and get it corrected. She said it would take day or so.
On 4/1/05 I called to speak with Dee Dee. She said they sent an email to me on the 28th, which I have confirmed through he servers here at work that no email was received!
I advised Dee that I wanted to speak with a manager. She, blindly placed my into the voice mail of a Mark Gamble. I pressed 0 and got Dee Dee back. I advised I didn’t want to leave a message for someone, especially blindly when they’ve not even prefaced the call with an introduction. She said Mark Gamble was the only supervisor in the company and he was not available.
She again said that the paperwork indicated that they shipped the right item and that petites aren’t even available in the color they sent. I said, well maybe you shipped the wrong color – I don’t know but I do know the jeans were PETITES! I advised that had I known the unprofessional handling of customer service by this company I would first of all have never given you my business. Secondly, I would have placed the jeans on a copier to show you that they were labeled Petite!
I asked her to see if the actual jeans could be obtained so that they can look at them. She told me to hold and NEVER CAME BACK! I pressed 0 several times and got a recording that stated, “the party you’re trying to reach is unavailable. Please leave a message or try your call again.”
From that point, I hung up and called Bank of America where I have now placed the item in formal dispute status. I hope at this point they are doing a chargeback on the $6.00. It is amazing that your customer service is so poorly handled and you are willing to lose customers and get bad PR in the process over $6.00. Had this been handled correctly, I would have continued to order through you. Additionally I had mentioned your site to several of my family and friends. At this point, I will let them know of my experiences.
Also, I do plan to send a copy of this email to the better business bureau as well as any internet governing agencies or complaint sites for you company.

"worst experience ever. I ordered online, then called their hotline and they told me they ship it out the very next day and will confirm it with an email. Two days later I called and they said it may tak up to 3 days till they can ship it after 7 days they told me it will take another week till they can ship it and I finally cancelled the order. "Denim Express offers free shipping to purchasers in the lower 48 but reneges on this offer to Alaskan purchasers despite the fact that the store admits that it costs them no more to ship to Alaska. The reason they give is: "company policy." Those of us who live in Alaska encounter this sort of discrimination frequently--if you live in Alaska, don't buy from these guys."

"Very easy to order online via their web site. Great selection of hard to find sizes. Shipped UPS by default, but the young lady on their 800 number easily changed that to USPS. Notified of order and shipping via email. A very good experience. Would recommend Denim Express to anyone.
