"I won't bore you with all the details but I've had several issues with an order throughout the process. I have called eight different times. Once a week. They only returned my call one time and the woman that called didn't have the capability to even see my order. Now some of the furniture arrived damaged. Who knows when they will call me back or respond to my emails. Don't waste your time here."
"Company doesn’t have any direct number to customer service. Only a receptionist who takes messages and nobody calls you back. Nor do they respond to emails. So good luck if you need to get in touch with them. "
"I bought a patio furniture set from Design Furnishings at the end of July last year for $1400. It's now the beginning of October (14 months later). I unzipped the covers on the cushions to swap them out for the other set that was clean, when I found that the cushion casings inside the covers had completely disintegrated. The cushion is made of lightweight filling that flew all over my porch and had to be vacuumed up. I called the company (and sent pictures) of the mess, and they informed me that the cushions aren't covered under their warranty and that I'd have to pay $500 to replace the cushions! I told them that though it might not be covered under warranty, they might want to consider giving good customer service in order to uphold their reputation for being a quality furniture company. However, they dismissed me and told me that they wouldn't replace the cushions for me. Unreal! I paid $1400 to use my furniture for one season. Thanks guys."
"After less than one year are swivel rocker bearing disintegrated. They ask for pictures and then asked us to mail the entire peace back to them. This is furniture! When I offered to purchase the part and mail them the bill they said that I must follow the warranty and that's how not how their warranty works. Even Amazon and other companies give you an RMA to ship their product back to them. Beautiful stuff but pray nothing goes wrong. They don't stand by their product and they do not work with you. My advice, don't do business with this company."
"I purchased the Hampton couch seating and cocktail table. In less than 1 year the top on my cocktail table split open and the paint peeled off. All the cushions on the couch seating had the interior covers desintigrate spewing white powder on everyone that sat on them. The foam cushions ripped apart. The "sunbrella" fabric on the cushions faded. The winter covers all ripped and rotted out after only a few months of use. After unclipping all the furniture to cover for the winter. Isn't there a defect warranty i asked? Yes but you have to pay for shipping which is basically the cost of getting more defective furniture, cushions and covers. A rip off and a scam. This business should be shut down!!! Stay away at all costs. Don't be fooled by the low prices. You get what you paid for. The worst quality workmanship I have ever seen. Disgraceful!!"
"Horrible product and customer service! Do NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM!!. I attempted to change the covers on my sectional set and when I took them off the interior cover disintegrated and the actual padding fell apart. When I called they sent me new interior covers saying that they knew of that problem and had a new version of the interior covers. But the filing fell apart when I tried to put them on. It is now a lumpy mess. The customer service person refuses to replace the cushions for no charge and said she sent the interior covers as a "Courtesy"! She said the cushions are not covered under warranty. This set is less than 2 years old and now is a mess! There are other complaints like this online. I wish I would have seen them before my purchase!! They don't seem to care about standing behind their product or their customer service."
"I received the wrong color and in order to fix the situation i have to pay the return shipping wait for them receive it and then pay the additional shipping back to me, in the world of Amazon this customer service is not going to get you anywhere.
I only wanted to exchange for different color and because of the above I am returning the order instead and eating the return shipping and 15% restocking for the point of the bad customer service"
"Ordered a $3500 set. Almost every piece came in damaged. After months of trying to resolve, we gave up as the replacements even arrived damaged. The quality is beyond miserable, i can actually pick up every piece with one hand. We wrote this off as a loss. As i pack this away for the trash, my anger re-arose. "
"The worst (lack of) customer service. Ordered firepit table and was shipped damaged - scratches all over the top. Immediately filed a claim the same day as it arrived, and followed all of their protocol. After over a week, a representative contacted me and indicated that because we did not notate slight damage to the packing box at the time of the delivery there was nothing she could do. (This was delivered on a pallet, weighed over 125 lbs, and was delivered when my wife was home alone. delivery driver refused to help beyond unloading the pallet off the truck and placing in our garage.) When I told the company rep that her answer was unacceptable and I wanted this escalated, I was told someone named Lisa would get back to me. I also indicated to her that the scratches were all over the top of the table, and the slight damage to the box could not have caused the scratches. This looks like it was a returned item and was shipped to me as new - with prior undisclosed damage. It has been over 2 months, still waiting for "Lisa" to get back to me despite me sending several follow up emails and making several phone calls requesting a status. After purchasing, I have seen many, many negative reviews about Design Furnishings - buyer beware! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER -REPUTABLE - COMPANY TO BUY FROM."
"Read every bad review here and that was exactly my experience. Shipping company no show then hours late. Tracking info means absolutely nothing. Missing parts never shipped. Customer setvice clueless. Actually told they shipped my missing parts slower . "
"Purchased over $4000 worth of furniture from this company on March 13 2013 which was 4 years ago and contacted the company 8 months after purchasing the items and informed them that the furniture looked like it was melting. Never received a response and followed up a couple months later with a phone call and voicemail with still no response. I then decided to just ride it out and see how it transpired because I did not have time to keep trying to contact them so over the next couple of years I slowly watched the furniture just fall apart and this year its not even usable. I pulled it out of storage and all of the wicker has separated and fell apart. Literally the furniture disintegrated. I sent them pic the other day again and asked for help and they said the couldn't do anything because it had been 4 years. Keep in mind I had contacted them just a few months about this problem initially multiple times and never received a response. Reguardless anyone would expect to get more than 4 years out of $4050 worth of furniture. That is basically paying $1000 a year for furniture. Most people wouldn't know what the life expectancy would be for outdoor furniture so let me put it this way. I have a house boat with the same kind of wicker furniture that has been on it for 8 years subject to way more elements than backyard and it shows no sign of wear especially not fallen to pieces and unable anymore. This places furniture is junk and overpriced, the customer service is horrible and the warranties are a joke. They won't call you back or reply to a email if there is a chance of it being replaced under warranty but when they know warranty has expired they will quickly reply and tell you tough luck and be extremely rude. I thought at the least the would offer a discount on something else just as a act of generosity for the poor quality furniture and the lack of replies from cutover service on the initial complaint but they said the were not going to do anything and took no responsibility for no responses or the furniture defects and pretty much told me dont let the door knob hit you on the way to another store. If you want to throw thousands down the drain and be lied to about warranties then this is the place if not then I highly suggest finding another company and manufacture because this is overpriced junk!!! "
"We've been looking for the right outdoor set for a couple of years but never really found what we were looking for at the right price. We loved the TK Bermuda curved couch and end tables, and the price was really good. We read the some reviews and almost didn't order. But since the bad reviews were more about shipping and not quality, we finally decided to order. We ordered the furniture, made some substitutions for swivel chairs, got the clips, the covers and the extra cushion colors. We were told it would all come in in two weeks, from California to Louisiana.
EVERYTHING came exactly as ordered and right on the day promised. We really love the set. We don't usually write reviews, but we' re so happy with our purchase. "
"Our couch came and it smelled horrible. I've been talking to them for over a month about it and nothing has been done...I even sent them a pillow to smell. Their friends and family must be adding these 5 star reviews, because this place has THE WORST customer service. If you buy something, hope and pray they nothing is wrong because that thousand or more that you spent on your set will be wasted. Lisa the manager doesn't ever call back and Jennifer the owner is just as bad. Two thumbs down for Design Furnishings."
"We purchased our Bermuda package (sectional, additional armless chairs, side tables and dining table) in 2014. As a totally satisfied customer, unfortunately I did not take time to write a review. As I googled the company recently (we are looking into adding pieces), I noticed some unfavorable reviews. Given our experience, I was compelled to share as well. From 2014 until present, we have had a great experience with Design Furnishings. They have been patient, helpful and attentive - from the beginning when we worked up options for our specific needs, to recently when I called about making additions. Our initial order was delivered as we expected - both on time and UNdamaged. It is used ALOT during the spring, summer and fall and remains on our patio year round (we do bring in the cushions during the winter months). As we approach summer 2016, our furniture still looks brand new. We often receive compliments both on the look and comfort. I personally like the fact that the cushions and pillows are REAL. Other sets I've seen have paper thin cushions that deflate the minute someone sits down. These cushions are still big and fluffy. The one situation we did have is that our cushion covers faded after the first summer. However, I contacted the company, sent pictures, and was sent replacement covers without hesitation. So, if you're looking for AWESOME furniture at an unbeatable price - you found it. I've been in sales for 16 years and confidently pass the name and number of this company to friends, family and colleagues. We couldn't be happier with our choice and our beautiful patio. We will definitely continue to order from Design Furnishings in the future!"
"Horrible experience from beginning to end.
Review of Royal Vintage 60 inch outdoor patio dining table with 6 chairs
I was hesitant at first to buy from Design Furnishings. They don't get great reviews anywhere but on their own site. Mostly people complain about the shipping. It is free but your order will take weeks to arrive and you will never know when it will happen. But I really liked the style of the furniture and it is such a good price. So I thought I wouldn't mind waiting to get such a good deal. Well I had the same shipping issues. They told us one day, then nothing happened; then another scheduled date, and no furniture. Finally they arrive..A huge tractor trailer shows up. They are too big to pull into our driveway so they just stop and block the road. Well we live on a very busy road, and traffic was backed up. People were getting angry. The driver kind of rushed my husband to sign for it and then took off. When my husband opened the package the glass table top was shattered. He immediately called, took pictures of the box, and submitted a claim. Also one of the chairs was missing a foot- so he submitted that as well. A WEEK later he hears back- they say there is nothing they can do because he did not tell the delivery people that the box was damaged. First-the box really did not look that bad (when have you ever received a shipping box in pristine condition?). And Second-he was under a lot of pressure just to accept the box so the guy could go unblock the road. I was so angry. The next day I called their claims department-which is kind of funny. Their claims department is one woman named Margaret. I told her in detail how wrong this whole thing is- how they do not stand behind their product in any way. She said that this was a shipping problem, so there was nothing they could do. She said if they replaced everyone's glass tabletops they would go out of business. This is a TINY company. If Margaret is not there, then there is no one to talk to. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said, "Lisa is in a meeting. " Right...So she said she would talk to Lisa and get back with me. A week later we hear back-yeah there is nothing they can do. I can return the item, but I would have to pay freight costs and a 25% restocking fee. In the mean time I have an unusable set of patio furniture. You cannot tell in the picture but the table top is not solid. It is flimsy plastic wicker over a metal frame. The metal frame supports the glass table top, but the wicker is really just decorative. This is probably the worst shopping experience I have ever had. So save yourself some time and money, and shop from a reputable company. It is not worth it in the end just to buy a quality product, even if you have to pay a little more."
