"I bought a ring for 3500 USD in Barbados in April 2017. I’ve worn it perhaps 15-20 times in as many months and a sizeable stone has fallen out!! DI have told me they will replace the stone at a cost as I’m out of guarantee. Basically - TOUGH! I know this is a way on time wise but had they even bothered to ask to see photos of the ring, it’s clear it’s barely been worn. I will never purchase from this company again and would urge anyone considering a purchase - DONT! The products look great but all these negative reviews can’t be wrong!! In the event you have a problem with a valuable piece of jewellery - both monetary and sentimental - spend it elsewhere or be as heartbroken as I am. Poor quality, poor customer service, poor standards, poor morals. Shame on you Diamonds international. "
"I’ve read through all these negative reviews and I must say I’m quite surprised. I’ve dealt with Diamonds International for some time now and my experiences have been fantastic. I have dealt personally with Nash in Dominican Republic and Maya and Tiffany in New York. These 3 have been absolutely amazing. The prices I’ve paid and the quality of the items I’ve purchased have all been exceptional. I purchased 4 Breitling watches, 1 Crown of Light Men’s ring custom made in 18KT White & Rose Gold, a John Hardy leather bracelet, a custom made White & Rose Gold 18KT Men’s Bracelet and a custom made White & Rose Gold 18KT Men’s Necklace. Nash and his Manager have both worked directly with Maya and the owner to get me the best prices possible. More importantly is the quality of the items received. The watches are one thing but the custom pieces are second to none! The craftsmanship and brilliance of these pieces are unbelievable. I deal with Maya on design and Nash on price and I’m proud to consider these two friends. They value relationships and in my case specifically I will tell you that they have gone above and beyond for me and it’s not as if they needed to. Nash is genuine and honest and will never promise anything he cannot deliver on. Personally, I value him as a person and only hope (selfishly) that he stays with DI forever! Maya is a beautiful person in and out and is unbelievably caring and genuinely passionate about what she does. If it’s not perfect she won’t be happy and she won’t pass anything on to you that she herself doesn’t know to be great. I’m a bit baffled by the lack of positive reviews here. Not 1! How is that even possible? Email me directly at ****@**** if you’d like to see pictures of my items or if you have additional questions about my personal experiences with DI and the DI team."
"what a total rip off and they so far will not do any thigh about it "
"I go to the same Diamonds Intl. store each year and have only had an excellent experience each time. I take the appraisal home with me for what I have purchased, and according to my local jeweler, they are worth that price and more. I have had a couple of rings that lost small side stones (I do wear them all the time, even when doing house work, but I think sometimes some of the prongs are not that strong), and I have taken them back with me and they have repaired them, replacing the stones free of cost. Of course, I am usually purchasing another item at the same time. My Crown of Light stones are gorgeous and sparkly. Kudos to the crew at the Key West Diamonds International and the great care and attention they have given us when we shop there. I hate hearing that others have had problems with some of the locations. I also love seeing the same people still working there each year when we shop, and they remember us and treat us wonderfully. They run a fantastic store that I look forward to shopping at each year. "
"I was sold on a diamond band that they claimed was worth $1100. We talked them all the way down to $450 which should have been my first clue that the piece was not actually worth $1100. A month after our cruise I was missing a diamond. I would have had to ship it to new York for them to ship me something "of equal value" but I didn't want something of equal value. I wanted this band. I wouldn't have spent the money at all if it wasn't a diamond anniversary band. So I took it to a local jeweler to see if it could be repaired. Jeweler said it was horribly crafted and he didn't recommend repairing it because he believed diamonds would continue to pop out. So it sat in our safe for a year or two. Took it out and wore it for a few months with the missing diamond and sure enough I am missing another diamond now. Such a scam. Huge waste of money."
"This company is guilty of usuary- they purposefully do not allow online pay, they do not send paperwork in a timely manner, they charge late fees they shouldn’t, then they add promotional fees, delete them , add them and make your bill difficult to read & pay. Do not use Diamonds International or Comenity Bank for any loans. Thieves"
"My husband bought me a diamond ring in Grand Cayman. Two days later the diamond fell out. I attempted to contact DI for over two weeks before I was finally able to get a response from them. They had me send the ring back and are now supposed to be fixing it. However, I was told it's going to take 8-12 weeks for it to be repaired. So let me get this right, you spend several thousand dollars on a ring. You get to enjoy it for less than 48 hours. It then takes you 3 months to get it repaired? All the while we have to make payments on the credit card we paid for the ring with. This place is a joke. I wish I would have gone online and checked reviews before making my purchase. Never again."
"Bought my wife a diamond ring for 40th anniversary during a cruise to Cozumel. The salesman told me I would get a refund for around 800 dollars. I didn't have a passport at the time of purchase, but they told me I could get one when I got home and email a copy. They gave me an email address and everything I needed. I got the passport
just a couple of days after arriving home and emailed to the address supplied to me. That was back in March. I have emailed them repeatably and get a one line reply after every 4 or 5 emails that it takes time. This is now July and I have given up. You might as well throw your money in the ocean than do business with these people. Complete ripoff.

"Visited diamonds international in St. Maarten while on a carnival cruise. Very long story short, if you like being fed rum punch that get increasingly stronger to the point your not of sound mind, and then being talked into opening a D.I. Credit card so that you can charge $17,000 of merchandise and not be told the return policy at any point, while under the impression your covered under the ships 60 day money back guarantee, and to have your wife's wedding band taken out of sight to be "cleaned", then later to be told there are no returns only store credit. This place is right up your ally.
Stay away, stay far far away from this place. It's nothing short of piracy."

"I bought a set of rings on 4/26 while on a cruise. On 4/28 the ring bands turned black all over and the metal was rough where it had turned black.
I contacted DI through email from the ship on 4/28. While they were very responsive that day, emails since then have gone days without answers. In every email (I've sent 9 so far), I have stated that I want to return the defective rings and receive a full refund. They will only say that I can send back the rings to be PLATED or a store credit. That was their final review they stated.
Unacceptable. Diamonds International has misrepresented the quality of their product. I want my money back.

"In anticipation of our 50th wedding anniversary we went shopping at Diamonds International in Falmouth Jamaica. After many hours we bought a 1.21 Crown of Light Diamond(D color, VS2 $16,200)and had it set in my own setting, which was a combination of our 10th and our 40th anniversary rings. Walked out of the door away from lights and found the ring to look like a disco ball with no light, no sparkle, plus they changed part of my setting from yellow gold to rose gold. Complained to Royal Caribbean shopping guide immediately that night and he put me in touch with Diamonds International in Cozumel Mexico. They would not refund money and after 3+ hours exchanged the diamond in my ring for a 2.1 brilliant diamond which I didn't want but they were not letting me out of the store and I wasn't taking that Crown of Light home! The store gemologist Patrick, worked with me the whole time and he described the stone as "milky", definitely not a D color, VS2 quality. Spent an additional $3,376. Got the ring home and took to a jewelers and this ring had all 8 prongs lifted and was advised not to wear until it was fixed. Contacted Diamonds International and after much correspondence was only offered $19,500 in credit or to have the second diamond in my setting be repaired. I don't want $19,500 in credit, and I don't want a 2+ cwt diamond. I wear my jewelry everyday, never take it off since being robbed and this diamond is just too large! I wish I had read all the reviews beforehand, but when on a cruise, out shopping, I just didn't think to do this. You go to the Caribbean and get swept up in the shopping and think the Port Shopping guides told us this is a guaranteed place. Even contacted Royal Media, Royal Caribbean's complaint company for off ship purchases and they couldn't do anything as the second diamond appraised for more than the purchase price. I should not have had to buy second diamond. Beware, on appraisals, the Crown of Light can only be appraised by Diamond International's own jewelers, not and independent jeweler. "
"Purchased a ring in Cozumel, Mexico in 11/2016 on the recommendation of Royal Caribbean. They appraised the ring at $5,000.00. Got back to USA had the ring appraised by an independent gemologist who ONLY appraises jewelry (does buy or sell). Appraisal came back for $3,300. I have contact Diamonds International (claim #LF121216001) and we are still in dispute. Have also contacted Royal Caribbean to see if they can help resolve this matter. This has been going on for 3 months. PS I was also told by the salesman at DI that I would receive 8.5% back on my purchase through www.MoneyBack.mx (Mexican Government incentive for shopping in Mexico) that too never happened. DO NOT TRUST DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL"
"I purchased a ring from diamonds international many years ago. The ring is beautiful but I have lost a diamond in the exact same spot 4 times over the years. Since it is the 4th time, I now believe there is a defect in the ring. Why would the same diamond fall out multiple times? The ring is an invisible setting so it's not like the diamond can get caught on something. When dealing with the service department, they are complete liars. They talk in circles and will not give you a straight answer. It's takes them weeks to email and call you back. Every time I have had to fix the ring, I spend hundreds of dollars plus very highshipping costs. They do not stand by their products. They only want your money. They lie and tell you there is no manager. I do not recommend this retailer especially when you are purchasing an expensive product. Very poor customer service. "
"Their "upgrade" policy is a total scam. I brought back my diamond bracelet ($3,500 value) because my husband wanted me to have a bigger and nicer one. As we entered the store, pushy salespeople approached us, kept showing us several pieces we were not interested in, a watch for my husband, necklace for me...that was horrible. I finally saw a bracelet I liked and asked for the price. The salesperson immediately took out his calculator & started "calculating" the price. He knew I wanted an upgrade/exchange (should have never told him!). He gave me a price: $8,500 (including the $3,500 for the piece I wanted to exchange). We were told that the original price was $12,000!!!! We tried to bargain, but they refused to lower the price and gave us a (cheap) necklace for "free". A few days later on the ship, we met another couple that had purchased a similar bracelet at Diamonds International as well (but at a different store). The lady's bracelet was slightly bigger than mine, better quality diamonds (we compared the certificates). She paid $8,500 without any exchange/upgrade...so basically, they stole my first piece and did not give me any discount!!!!!! Such a rip off. Please avoid these stores at all cost. Their prices are unfair, they steal money from gullible & uninformed customers. Such a shame!!!! Never again."
