"I'm a bit of a luxury shopper, like nice things and spend a lot of money doing so. But never in my life have I come across such an immoral retailer.
You won't get what you paid for, like most people you'll probably find you paid well over the odds or get inferior quality products. Or in my case, you buy a ring where you've stipulated exactly what you are looking for including detailed charachteristics, are told that's what you're getting, are given all the right paperwork to back it up including appraisals only to find out that the stone you've walked out of the store with once they've changed the setting doesn't meet any of it and by a well known appraisal company disregards anything they've given you as it isn't the same stone!
You'll also find their terms and conditions shocking but you won't see these until after you've made a purchase on your email receipt because at no point do the staff show you a copy beforehand.
You'll contact customer services and go through their procedures, get offered inferior stones for exchange yet again to what you should of had and eventually get offered a completely different cut stone as what they consider a fair exchange! It's also of one of the lowest quality for that cut!
If you're looking for a deal don't bother. If you're looking for quality it's just a waste of time. They don't stick by their product whatever your issue may be which says a lot so just take notice of the thousands of issues people have had online and save yourself the headache. "
"Misleading, overpriced and low quality jewelry. we spend $41750.00 on sterling silver , the appraisal stated silver gold, we assumed it was white gold. after spending 4 days trying to exchange the items, we were able to get a Crown of light ring and diamond studs total appraisal value by them $8453.00 back home we had them appraised and came back $3900.00. their own web site has more accurate prices. return policy is awful you get stock with store credit. Be very careful if you buy anything from them. ask all sort of questions and do not leave the store without a certificate of authenticity and a genuine appraisal. if they can't provide it is because the item is not correctly valued. do not get confused by their super discounts. SCAMERS!!!!!!"
"I, like many of you, have had a terrible experience with Diamonds International. I was swayed by my cruise line into thinking that DI was a credible jewelry store with the best prices in the world. Not only this, but they are "THE Diamonds International." To keep my situation brief: I purchased a loose diamond while on vacation. Upon returning to the US, I did some research to determine just how good of a deal I received. Much to my astonishment, I paid more than double what the piece was worth (LITERALLY!). After nearly a month of battling with DI, I was finally able to receive a refund via a tiny clause in their return policy on the back of their receipt. "DI offers 6 months no interest except they tacked on a $35 late charge even though I paid off the purchase 2 weeks before the offer expired. Now I "owe" over $800 and they are ruining my credit. Overpaying $700 for a forever mark diamond wasn't enough of a kick in the teeth from this "amazing company with fabulous deals... don't shop anywhere else in port or you'll be ripped off!" Now I have to write all the credit bureaus and the Attorney General in NYC where their USA headquarters are. Like I feel like going through this."

"This company is nothing but thieves!!! They sold us a ring ($17,000) and indicated that the material was 14k white gold. The next day my wife's finger was getting irritated and when we alerted the company to the issue, they offered to remake the ring in Platinum (returning it to us with garbage stones,I imagine)or issue us a store credit for $17,000!!! Really????? My credit card company is taking care of this and suing for misrepresentation but heed my warning....Stay clear of this place!!!!"
"DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL IS A SCAM! BEWARE! DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THEIR BRANCH STORES IN THE CARRIBEAN! I visited their store branch at Nassau, Bahamas on June 2012, and bought a 3-stone oval shaped diamond ring. Since I'm not a gemologist, just an average shopper, I bought the ring in good faith. I was assured by the salesperson and her Manager that the ring I was buying have good quality diamonds on it. In my mind, a "good" quality diamond is at least an SI1 or above, and that is why I negotiated, bought, and paid for the ring for the price of $7,100. I had asked for an appraisal to ensure that the diamonds on the ring I was buying was in fact a "good" quality diamond. They had informed me that they will issue and give me the appraisal when I had already paid/bought the ring. Since my ring needed to be sized, they had asked me to go back in an hour. When I went and picked up the ring, the store was already in the process of closing for the day, giving me no time to inspect the ring and review the appraisal. When I got to my hotel, I was disappointed when I saw the appraisal that indicated the diamonds are I3 quality (which this rating does not even exist on the official Gemologist rating system). The next day, I immediately called the store, and spoke to an Andy from their Customer Service, informing them of my disappointment and wanted to return the ring. They told me that they cannot accept a return unless I have an Return Merchandise Authorization. They had advised me to call their 800-number on the back of the receipt. I contacted them numerous times, pleaded my case, negotiated an exchange for a better quality ring, but they refused to help me and will not refund my money back! These people are plain scammers! DO NOT make a mistake of buying any type of jewelry from them, they will rip you off!"

I contacted DI to purchase a made to order ring through their online outlet and pick it up at one of their physical stores when I arrive at my vacation destination. The service, help, care and followup I've gotten throughout this process has been nothing short of astonishing.
Even now before I have received my order I have now hesitations with giving DI a 5 star rating."
