"Wanted to purchase Fuji S5000 they have the lowest price!! But after I placed my order they sent me an email asking to call them, when I did they tried to talk me into buying batteries and a charger for $70.00 I told Ron I already have these and then he tells me that they are out of stock except for the government edition which is the same camera but with 5 yar warranty for another $70.00 I told him thier website states they are instock and he tells me that the website is not been updated, So I ask him why they had raised the price $12.99 on the day I ordered from the previous day and did not update instock status his reply was website is not updated, I then asked to speak to his supervisor and he said that was him so I said there is someone above you, you are not the owner of the company and he says he is,so I told him that they are a scam and that I am going to report them to the FTC and he said he cancelled my order and good luck finding one at that price. "

"Dont ever shop with these guys,
they Lie, are rude and you will no way get your moneys worth,
saw a camera for a low price 269$ ordered it next day this rude guy calls me afterneen (he called 6x before when iw as not home i see on id caller) he says i have to get a charger with the camera, i say i do not want a charger i just want the camera, he tells me No charger no camera.
so i ask him how much is the charger because i realy wanted the camera, he tells me its 69 but says he can make me a deal and says 50 i say no i dont want it he puts me on hold and talkes to manager, (LIE) says he can give it to me for 40 i say no again and he says bye bye and hangs up.i call him back and tell him that on the site it did not say u need to get a charger, the camera was 256$ he then has the nerve to tell me to call him back the next day because he is going home in 20 seconds!
it was still 30 minutes til the tech line closes says that on site, (LIE)

that night i decide to search for this company and find this site and read all reviews i was so hapy i did not order the thing and next day i cancelled my order,

THESE guys are rude have no customer, experience NEVER buy from them, as for the camera i bought it for less from a secure source and it has been shipped today (i bought it yesturday)

Well, I called back and Mickey said that the camera was on backorder and that it will take an additional 10-15 days. So I waited the 10 days and called back twice. The first time they hung-up on me for asking why they could get my camera in stock. The second time they put me on hold for asking the same question.

I was never charged and I will never buy from them again. I bought the same camera from B&H photo for $30 more, but I know I will get it in a timely manner.

"I ordered a camera dispite all the negative reviews and had the exact same thing happen as previously warned. I immediately got an email that I must call them regarding my order. And sure enough, he tried to get me to buy additional items. When I kindly refused he said okay have a great day, very rudely. Then I never heard anything else, until today when I called them to check my order status and he told me "WE cancelled your order that camera is no longer available". He also told me they emailed me which they did not. And he hung up on me. I wasted so much time on this order and should have listened to the reviews first. PLEASE NOTE this company is fraudulant. STAY AWAY!!!!1"

"STAY AWAY FOMR THIS "COMPANY". Same trick pulled with me.. ordered a camera, invoice showed everything was ok, then they call ed me up and tried to upsell me EVERYTHING! I declined all the additional offers. Then later that day, I got this email -

"As per your instructions, this email is to inform you that your order was cancelled and deleted in our system ,as a policy we do not charge an account unless the product ships that day. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Completely bogus website... they are scamming credit card numbers. WATCH OUT!

Oh, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out all the positive responses here are themselves writing them.

"I ordered a camera and memory. The company called up to confirm the order. When trying to confirm the order, they tried to push me into products for the camera that I didn't want to purchase. They started telling me things like "64 meg high speed memory will hold the same amount of pictures as 128 megs of low speed memory" and "the MPG recording on this camera won't work unless you have high speed memory". I know what this camera will and won't do, I use this camera on a daily basis at work with low speed memory. This purchase was to be for my personal use. Then, after 15 minutes of telling this person, "No, I don't want to pay $30 - $50 more for the same amount of memory, and I don't care if I have high speed or not" they finally tell me that they don't have the low speed in stock. Yeah, right. When I asked him why he was trying to push me into a sale I didn't want, he accused me of being rude and that, "I'm only trying to help you out. But if you want to be rude, I'll just cancel your order." He kept telling me he would talk to his manager to get the price lowered, but when I asked to speak with his manager, I was told he was the manager. I was not impressed. So I told him to cancel the order. He lost a $400 sale because he wanted to push another $50 when the customer didn't want it."

"I ordered the Olympus C-4000 Zoom Camera and paid for it and an extended 5-year warranty by credit card in late March ($379.99 total). During the following two months, Digitally Discovered sent me TWO incorrect(cheaper) Stylus Cameras which I returned with considerable trouble. I also received the warranty, but never received the Olympus C-4000 camera that I ordered. I was given numerous explanations why my camera had not arrived, including that it was sent and somehow returned back to them! After MANY phone calls and emails, they finally cancelled my order in mid May. I have also returned the warranty at my own expense. I am still waiting on a credit card refund which they have promised, but not yet delivered. I have been patient for two months, but am very frustrated and upset! I finally re-ordered this same camera less than a week ago from a competitor (also in Brooklyn) and have already received it!"

"I read a lot of bad reviews about this company, but I have had the exact opposite experience. I called them 3 times, spoke to Mickey, was not put on hold any of the times. First to inquire about products (very knowledgable answers), second time to place my order, and third time to follow-up after delivery acknowledging my satisfaction. I ordered an Olympus C730 digital camera plus accessories. It was shipped within 3 days, I got an e-mail with Fed Ex tracking number, my credit card was not charged until after shipment, and everything arrived as promised. As a matter of fact, the model was apparently out of stock and they sent me the upgraded C740 model with no increase in price. A very good experience overall. Hard to understand all the bad reviews."

"My story is sad but true.

I ordered a Sony Digital Camera Cybershot DSC-F717 via the web site of Digitally Discovered on March 21, 2003. My American Express card was immediately billed. I started receiving e-mail messages stating that I would receive a tracking number within 72 hours at the latest. The atrocious spelling in the e-mail messages actually made me nervous so I did some research online and found out about this company's reputation. Because I did not receive the promised tracking number, I then started telephoning. One time I was told that they would be sending me a tracking number soon. Another time I was told that the package had shipped but I had to get the tracking number via e-mail from California. I also received periodic e-mail messages claiming that they could not send a tracking number because their system was down. (Sound familiar anyone?) Finally, a "customer service" (using this term very loosely here) representative advised me that my camera had been shipped on March 31, 2003 but that it had been returned by my office, probably because of damage. That was not possible because the package would have come to me first and of course it did not. He claimed that he would "have to reship."

Amazingly, shortly after that conversation I received a tracking number. The package arrived on April 3, 2003. This package contained an invoice for the camera – showing that my American Express bill was charged $639.00, and a cheap Handycam soft carrying case that I had not ordered, but no camera. I called customer service, who expressed shock and disbelief and told me that I had to request RMA via the Internet, which I did on April 3, 2003. When I did not receive a response, I called and was transferred to three different people, who assured me that my problem was being "escalated" and addressed. On April 4, 2003, I received a message that the camera was being "transhipped." I called for the tracking number, and was told it would be e-mailed to me that evening. I never heard from the company again, ever. No e-mail, no tracking number, no camera, nothing. I contacted American Express and disputed the charge.

I agree that you get what you pay for. However, I have been purchasing electronics online for many years from discounters and I have never encountered such horrible service. I am very patient for shipping delays, pushing salespeople and rude customer service. However, I do have the expectation that if I pay $600 for a product, I will receive that product.

"Purchased a Canon S-45 and digital camera starter pack (256Mb CF Card, Spare Battery, Mini Tripod, Camera Case). Why use this company - I saved $180 on the recommended retail price of this camera!!

I read these reviews first and ordered by telephone rather than on line, this got the "confirmation" call out of the way at the start. The sales guy (Randall) was OK, but took the liberty of trying to bull***t me about why I needed to buy a CF card that was twice the price of the one I wanted (apparently the flashing LED next to the viewfinder doubles the size of the image file)!! Also got the standard patter about extended warranty - which I declined.

You will be extremely lucky if you get a tracking number. When I called first, I was told it would be e-mailed to me the next day and that my order had been shipped from their California warehouse (there's that bull***t again)!! A week later I still had no tracking number, so called and eventually got put through to the warehouse and was told the package was in Ohio and the courier (Airborne Express) could not deliver as my address was incorrect. My address was corrected, and miraculously the package arrived the next day via UPS!!! I checked the tracking number and found the package originated in New York (surprising as this is where this company is located!); no mention of CA or OH.

If you pay cheap you get cheap service. I don't think these guys are crooks, but make sure you do your research before ordering, so you know the bull when you hear it. They are in the business of making money, and as they sell so cheap thay have to try and make this up elsewhere - hence the "confirmation call" to try and sell you more stuff. This company's customer service is appalling, but you get what you pay for. The bottom line - Buyer Beware!

"I commented previously in a post below. A couple of days ago, I e-mailed customer service that if I didn't receive a UPS tracking number or a refund within 24 hours, I would take legal action. They sent the tracking number a few hours later and shipped the merchandise (digital camera & accessories) 2nd Day Air. I received my exact order today in excellent condition. However, I will never order anything from this company again, just too many hassels."

"I ordered a very expensive camera in the evening of the 15th. The sales person (Jerry) was very knowledgeable. After going through all the options with Jerry, I decided what I needed and wanted as far as accessories and placed the order. Jerry was very polite, friendly and helpful. My shopping experience was very smooth and relaxing. I received my order three days later. Everything intact and as expected. All items accounted for and packed properly. "This is a so shameful company. I can not believe such company can exist and why this company is not pulished by law.
I ordered sony digital camera dsc-s85 at this company online. The price is $429. The web said that this item is in stock (I also called to make sure), and they will ship this item with 72hours, and my credit card is not charged until shippment.
1)But right after my ordering, my credit card is charged. This is first cheat.
2)I called them several times. Finally they sent an e-mail to me after 7 days and said the item is shipped. They also give me the track number. This is the second cheat. Because the web said it will be shipped within 72 hours.
3)I checked the tracking information. It said this camera weight 1 lbs. I am a little suspecious. But I still believe in them. After seven days' waiting, the item arrives. I opened the box. To my astonishment, there is no camera. There is only one case. I think the price of this case is no more than $29. This is the third cheat. But the invoice say exactly the item in the box is dsc-s85.
4)I called the sale department again. After many times calling, I finally found Micky I always contacted. Micky told me there are two boxes for me. The second box is the digital camera. It may be shipped at that week or later. But they can not give me track number. This is the fouth cheat. I did not order case and why they ship the case to me? Till now, I do not see any second box for me.
5)I sent e-mail again and again to them. They finally responded to me and said detailed answer will be sent to me by e-mail the following day. I waited day by day, but there is no response from this company any more. This is the fifth cheat.
6)The phone of the sale department is so difficult to call. I tried dozens of times, maybe there is only one time I can find person. The person there often ask me to call custom service department. In fact, when I called the phone of custome service, after long information listening, there is just a radio broading there. This is the six cheat.
7)I want to mention two persons here. I will not say they are lier. But their deeds are so suspecious. One is Micky, the person in sale deparment I always contact. The other is Dianna, The sale person listed in the invocie.

I already disputed this bill with American Express. Does anyone have good idea to process this problem? my e-mail is ****@****.

"AVOID. I had purchased a Minolta Dimage 7i and was assured it was a USA product in a factory-sealed box. The shipment arrived several days later than promised. Follow-up and tracking was almost impossible due to nonresponsive customer service lines. When I did get through, as soon as I gave a hint that my call was a customer service issue, I was immediately sent to a queue and was eventually disconnected. Needless to say, this was very frustrating. Despite promises to the contrary, the product was in fact gray market, and the box was obviously raided at some point. A CF card that should have come woth the camera was missing as well. I sent the camera back to the company (when I finally got through to them to get an RMA number) along with the two extra 256 MB CF cards I ordered with it, and Brian Peterson from customer service told me the cards were missing (even though I packed them in the same box as the camera). When I challenged him on this, he got very defensive and argumentative with me. The hassle took months to resolve - I finally got recompensated for the "missing" flash cards in March - more than 7 months after the original purchase.

I learned several lessons from this:

1) A credit card does not alwsys protect you - despite the fact that all this was placed on a Discover Platinum card, the fact that it was "lost" in a UPS shipment back to the company essentially meant it was a UPS issue - Discover washed their hands of it.

2) I sent it via UPS through a local Staples store - and despite the fact it was fully insured, it took UPS months to settle this - and only after repeated calls. Also, Staples was the shipper, so the check was finally cut to Staples and I had to then get it from them.

3) I will never order from Digitally Discovered again - it's worth the extra 10 - 20% to go with a reputable company.

"I ordered a Samsung SIRT-165 HDTV Receiver from this company. I ordered over the phone and spoke with Mickey. He tried to sell me an extended service contract which I refused. They immediately charged my American Express card...before shipping the item. I called 6 days later and was given a UPS tracking number. The delivery was made within the 10 day time specified. To my surprise when I opened the carton I found a Windows 98 Afga Scanner in battered condition, value probably under $25, not the $529 Receiver I had ordered !! The UPS shipping label said the weight was 2 lbs. The box weighed 14 lbs. My invoice and charge slip had the tops cut off, making it impossible to see the vendors name. The UPS return account number was invalid. I tryed to call the 877 number and got a recording saying that the phone is no longer in service !! I called American Express to dispute the charge. They are going to do an investigation. Under no circumstances would I buy from these crooks !!
