SCAM WEBSITE $640 for PAIN in the **** that lasts 4+ months

"Save your time and money. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DIGITALOUTLETS.NET

Purchased a Canon 70D in March. They emailed me 1 week later asking me to confirm the order, even though my credit card was already charged.

I tell them to cancel the order and give me a refund. They agreed to the full refund in writing (email). Because they agreed to refund, they never shipped the order.

April passes, never got refund. I call them and they keep pushing back the refund date. May passes, still no refund. Customer service is non responsive to calls or emails. June comes and I've had enough with their "customer service" and I call the credit card company to file a claim. I give them all the evidence I have and the credit card company refunds me.

Fast forward to today. The credit card company contacts me to let me know digitaloutlets.net has the nerve to file a counter claim, claiming they actually shipped the product! They actually used a random UPS tracking # as evidence for their claim!

4 months later, and I'm still dealing with this "business".

Seriuosly, does it take this long for a refund?

"The award goes to DigitalOutlets.net for best acting, lying, and scamming customers.
How can these guys sleep at night cheating people? As a single mother, it is very upsetting when people like these guys take advantage of our trust and hard earn money. I just want my money back, that's it.

Here is a timeline of my journey with Digital Outlets:

March 8, 2016: Placed order for Canon EOS 5D Mark III Digital Camera (Body Only): $1,420.02

March 15: Received an email from them to give them a call to confirm my order. Told me that I should get it on April 8.

April 11: I called them because I didn't get my order on 4/8. Told me that my item was on back order and that I was sent an email ( I never received any email- update on my order) and now i will get in on 4/25.

May 2: I called to cancel my order. I was told that I will get the full refund in 5-7 days.

May 10: I called to check status of my refund, I was told to give it another 7-10 days.

May 17: I called and now, I will get my refund on June 2, because their refund process takes one month (full cycle)

June 2: Nothing in my bank yet.

June 7: Still nothing in my bank, so I called and was told that the refund was issued on June 2, however it may take 24-48 hours to go through.

June 14: I called... regarding my refund status, I was told that my order was never cancelled and still show that it's on back order. The guy was giving me more excuses...but said he just cancelled it. Therefore, I will get my refund 3-5 days.

June 21: Nothing in my bank yet, I called to check again, was told by Andrew that my refund was issued on June 8. I told him that I haven't received my refund yet and he told that he will send me a email confirmation showing that it did. He never email me anything after our phone conversation. So, he asked for the 800#, on the back of my card so he can contact them regarding my refund. Told me that he will get back to me in 24-48 hrs to let me know the status of my refund.

June 30: I called because DigitalOutlets never got back to me regarding my refund. So this random customer service guy told me that they contacted my credit card and it was re-issued (my refund) to my bank on June 26. Therefore, I will get my refund on July 5. Funny because I called my credit card afterwards to double check and was told that no refund activity is showing on their end. Of course, it doesn't surprise me at all.

July 6: Nothing was in my bank on 7/5. So I called and the excuses this time was that my refund will clear on the July 10th. Really...on a Sunday?

July 20: Still no refund yet. At the moment, I am talking to my attorney. I just hope to end this already.

DigitalOutlets.net - Scam business

"I cannot believe such businesses still exist. Just as you see the other reviews, i got scammed. They charge your CC instantly for the order, the order never ships, then when you call they say it's on back-order, they try to upsell and when you cancel the order, the refund never arises. The customer service is terrible and rude. Please stay away."

Horrible response times - stay away from this scam

"I ordered a Nikon D750 two months ago. About a week later I received an email to confirm my order so I called in and was able to confirm. 4 weeks went by and NOTHING!! so I emailed their CS and they responded that it was back ordered 1-2 weeks. It's now been 3 more weeks and they stopped responding to emails. Stay away from this horrible company.

***UPDATE 06/21/16 - After leaving this review last week they contacted me right away asking me to remove the review and to call their store on Monday to get tracking info. I told them to email me the info and there's no reason I need to call again. They have not responded since that message. My credit card was charged back in April so I will begin the charge back process shortly. After reading other reviews I believe they are fake and most likely done by the store.

Worst sales person, pushy to sell warranty and switch products

"Ordered a Nikon D750 for expedited delivery. Credit card was charged as soon as the order was placed. No response from the store so called the store and the sales person tried all excuse to sell warranty and at one point mentioned that they sell Japanese model (D750) camera with only Japanese manual without any warranty. However a US model is available, of course at an upgraded price and I should be buying that. I respectfully declined and the sales person assured me that the call was necessary to verify my account, the product is in stock it is all set to ship out next day. No update next day, so I called again. A different sales person this time on phone and told me that the product is backordered and they do not know it will be available. I told him about my previous day's experience and he totally ignored. Instead he indicated that he will do me a favor by cancelling the order and waiving the cancelling fees. At this point I was really frustrated since he tried to show great deal of disrespect and came up with a power position on how he actually doing me a favor by not charging a cancellation fees. The product was still showing up on the site at the same price - I made my point. Sales person went to the point of saying how customers like me does not help to pay his bills. It was pretty clear that i am going to dispute the credit card transaction and if need be go to small claims court. I was strongly advised against by the sales person on putting up a review. The last sentence I heard over phone was "Game on"."

"I ordered an 18-135mm lens for my Canon Rebel T3i. When I called Digital Outlets in order to verify my order, the most courteous customer service representative informed me that the lens I ordered is designed for the Canon FILM camera. The T3i is, of course, a digital camera. The representative indicated that he could modify my order to reflect the correct lens, AND he arranged for an expedited delivery at no additional charge. Had the representative not been on-the-ball, I would have received the wrong lens for my camera. This is my first experience with Digital Outlets and it surely was a positive one."

These People Are Scum

"Stay away from this scam artist acting like an online retailer. Just check them out with the BBB or any other review site. I bought a camera and found out I needed a different model. Called them and they promised they would cancel my order and give me a full refund within 5-10 days if I gave them a 5 star review here. That's probably how they get so many good reviews on here and so many terrible reviews everywhere else!

Thinking I had a good customer service experience, I did give them a good review. Now, a month later they have NOT refunded my money as promised, they have also ignored my attempt to contact them via the BBB. Now I have my credit card company fighting them.

These people are pure evil, crooks and they will rob you. Just like they're trying to do with me. Any positive review you see here is likely them trying to coerce people, just like they did with me. Don't buy it!!

Digital Outlets does not tell the truth. We lost more than $9,000

"We ordered cameras from Digital Outlets in August of 2015 and are still trying to get our refund. After we sent them the money they told us they did not have the cameras we ordered and tried to get us to buy different cameras. This was a bait and switch.

They told us that they would send us a refund in September. We didn't get it. They told us they would send us a refund check in October. We didn't get it. They told us they would send us a refund check in November. We didn't get it. They refused to return our calls or talk to us in December 2015.

In January, we filed consumer complaints with the Attorney General Office in California and also the Attorney General Office in New York. This is a New York company doing business in California. They wrote letters to the Attorney General offices promising to investigate the consumer complaint. They promised to get back to the consumer. By April we still had not heard from them. When we called them they told us they could not speak to us but would only speak to the Attorney General. When we persisted in demanding our refund they admitted that they owe us a refund and promised to send us the check in May. They even sent us a copy of the check. No check has been received.

This is a New York company who is doing business out of the City of Avalon on Catalina Island. If you do a reverse phone number look up on their ***-***-**** phone number you will find that they are in Avalon but have no address because this is a cell phone number. If you ask the employees who answer the phone where they are located they will admit that they are in Avalon. The City of Avalon has an ordinance which requires that companies who do business in their city obtain a business license. If you call City Hall in Avalon you will find that Digital Outlets does not have a business license. So, if you want to sue them for a refund you have no address in Avalon to which you can send your process server. This leaves you with only one place to sue them: New York City. It is very expensive to file a lawsuit in New York City. We gave them more than $9,000.00 for the cameras. All we have is a copy of a check which cannot be cashed.

Digital Outlets cannot be found when you do a company search of the California Franchise Tax Board website and California Secretary of State website. It appears that they are a New York company doing business in California but not complying with California laws.
