"I purchased a compressor, receiver/dryer, expansion valve, o-rings and PAG oil for my 1999 VW Cabrio after we found a leak in the original VW compressor. The parts were shipped quickly, they were well packed and correctly fit into my car. It looks like the parts are manufactured in China, but the quality looks good, everything fits and functions well after being installed and charged with R134a at a local shop. The system tested out with a 42 degree Farenheit temp at the vents on a fairly warm day. My cost was about $700 less than the estimate I received to repair the system with OEM parts. I'm very pleased with this purchase."

"My first bad auto parts experience!
I have an old car and order parts for it all the time. I hate to write a bad review, but feel others should know.

Summary:
Either 1) this company doesn't have its act together and it really is just a matter of crossed-wires; or 2) they really tried to scam me and get $70 more for a compressor I ordered. For all the time and trouble required to simply get my money back when they misrepresented their products, Discount A/C Parts was no 'discount' at all.

For details, see the following (frustrating) 3 acts:

Part 1:
I ordered A/C compressor part #60-01550 NA for my 1994 Land Rover Range Rover LWB 4.2L V8 (also A/C Drier #60-30910). Their website quotes $335 for the compressor (http://www.discountacparts.com/addtocart~year~1994~make~Land%20Rover~model~Range%20Rover~descript~A-C_Compressor~part~60-01550.asp#).

I received A/C compressor part #60-01607-NA. Their website quotes $265 for it here (http://www.discountacparts.com/Dodge-Motorhome-A_C_Compressor-60~01607_NA.html).

So the problem is that not only was I over-charged ($335) for the 60-01607 NA compressor - as if I had received the 60-01550 NA - but that when I spoke to them they gave me the runaround and wouldn't even pay for the shipping to return the compressor. They refused to either send me what I had originally ordered or refund me the difference of $70. Their sales representative was extremely unhelpful, unwilling to help and would not even put me in touch with a manager who could do so.

To add insult to injury, they quote on their website: "This is an exact* picture of your part. We do not use generic pictures. Our cataloging team is the best in the industry and it ensures that you get the right part, the first time." This was NOT the case and the part was misrepresented to me.

Part 2:
After feeling I had no recourse, I came to Yelp and wrote this bad review. Only then did the sales manager promptly contact me. He said - in writing- that he would set things straight - that is, reimburse me in full for the parts and not charge me a restocking fee. So I sent them back. . .

Part 3:
To add insult to injury, when they finally agreed in writing to refund my parts as well as shipping and restocking fee, they only reimbursed me for the cheaper part they misrepresented to me!?! I am still waiting on another $70."
