Tires never shipped 10 days after payment received.

"I order set of 4 tires. March 10th. March 14th my installer called them to ask where they were on their way. March 20 called again to ask for shipping. They never sent them. Asked me to replace since they on had 2 left. I compromised and gave them and they had the nerve to request $68 for replacement. Another $43 for upcharge. My first time ordering tires. Why replacement fee."

Won't Cancel; Will Charge You for Return Shipping

"I ordered 4 tires online, and then called their customer service to cancel the order less than 10 minutes after it was placed. I did this because I didn't realize I had ordered the wrong tires. The phone Operator was polite, but he said that my order could not be cancelled and that it was already shipping. If they can put out the order to ship it that quickly, I believe that they should be able to prevent an order from being shipped, too. In the end, I had to go through the process of printing off return labels and dropping off the tires at FedEx. All in all, I spent $364 on the initial order and received $328 back because they charged me for the shipping. In my opinion, it is not good business practice to punish a customer for trying to cancel an order within 10 minutes that it was placed. I will never do business with them again"

Going down hill

"Bought a set of wheels for my vehicle. They didn't have them in stock so they drop shipped them from tire rack.com.
Received 2 each of two different colors.
So, they picked up the two that were incorrect and shipped out replacements.
Received 1 each of two different colors.
Finally, 3 weeks later, received the correct wheel to complete the set.

Obviously this was not their fault, and I hope they were adequately compensated by tire rack.
My issue is that the communication was poor at best and they treated me like I was the bad guy.
I have bought from them for at least 15 years. Normally I'm extremely happy with them but, as the title says, they're going down hill.

2012 Outback rims

"I bought 4 rims back in 2018 for a 2012 outback 3.6r that I had just bought. These are my summer set and factory rims have winter tires on them. The rims looked great and fit great. i lost (mechanic did kept) the socket for the lugs and discount tire replaced it for free (I paid for a second one) a few years ago. I just called about centering rings (again, mechanics losing them) and they are sending a set of 4 to me for free, completely free. Almost 5 years since I bought the rims and they still give this kind of service?!?! I'm looking to get rims for a 2017 Ram 1500. Guess where I'll be looking first. Awesome customer care and I didn't have to wait on hold either."

Very Pleased with service and price

"I will say right up front that I did not go into a discount tire store. I bought four tires on line from discount tire direct. I needed tires for my 2007 Toyota tundra. I looked several hours online and got 2 quotes from local tire stores. I wanted an all terrain tire and all the prices that I looked at ranged from $1000-$1500 for 4 tires. I found tires on discount tire direct called Trailfinder AT. I could not believe the price was 4 for $552. I read several reviews from unbias companies that rate tires and they said this tire was an exceptional value and made of high quality rubber. This tire is only available at discount tire and made specifically for them. I ordered four and they were $600 with tax. I had them installed at a local dealer for $100. $700 total for these 4 tires. After having them installed, I backed out of a parking spot at the dealer and could feel an immediate difference. The steering was so much easier than before. I got on the highway and the steering response and ride was amazing. I am so pleased with these tires, and I hope they will last a long time. They are rated for 45,000 miles. Even if I don’t get that, I can buy two sets of these for what everybody else wanted for one set. "

Installation service

"I was so excited when I bought new tires for my car from Discount Tire Direct! When I contacted the installer (approved installer on the DiscountTireDirect.com website) I was told that they don't have any affiliation with the online seller, so I will pay more than double the price because I didn't buy tires from the installer. So, I needed to pay $50 per tire. It made my purchase a mistake. I called DiscountTireDirect.com customer service, but they said, that nothing they can do. So, please, make sure the website you are buying tires from has an installation service in the area you live. Otherwise, don't buy from them! It doesn't make any sense. "

Horrible

"Tire listed as available on line. Selected and paid for. Two days later, I received a text indicating there was a problem with the order. I contacted them and the problem was, they did not have the tires they continued to advertise as available. They had falsely advertised a product for which they had no inventory and accepted payment. I will also be contacting the NY Attorney General."

Poor Service

"I went to my Discount Tire Direct Store on College Drive in Suffolk, VA on 6/1/21 with a tire that needed repair. I discovered that I had a nail or something in the tire on 5/30 but since they are not open on Sunday and Monday was Memorial Day, I had to wait until Tuesday. I arrived at the store at 7:50 AM, they open at 8:00 AM, and there were already a few people waiting. I knew that some would have appointments and others had arrived before me so I had to wait my turn. When the door was unlocked, I walked in an was immediately directed to go back out to the parking lot where someone would help me. I don't know how many other's had arrived after I did but I do know that there was one gentlemen that got there a little after I did that did not have an appointment. He also needed to have a tire repaired and wanted to have his tires rotated on top of that. The guy that was in the parking lot representing the store went to that gentlemen first and asked him what he needed then came to me. I advised him that I had gotten there before the other man. He said that he was told by someone in the store that I had gotten there after him. He said not to worry that they would get me taken care of. He gave me a ticket that said they anticipated completing my repair by 9:00 AM. I was not happy but there was nothing I could do. I had bought the whole set of tires on my truck from this store back in January of this year and also purchased road hazard coverage on them. In May of this year I purchased a new set of tires for my travel trailer from them. While waiting for them to get done with the other guy's repair I was talking with him and learned that he had not bought his tires there. By the time they finally got to my truck, it was 8:55, just five minutes away from being the time they had said it would be fixed, they were just starting on it. Their system for checking in is ridiculous and unfair. I don't know how many other people they took ahead of me that did not have an appointment. If they wanted to handle things properly they should have had only one way into the parking lot and there should have been someone from the store there meeting people as they drove in, recording what time each one got there and whether or not they had an appointment.
I will think long and hard before I buy anymore tires from this company.

Junk product, bad service.

"Bought a set of tires last August. 50,000 mile tire. 15,000 miles in, and bubbles started popping out on the sides. Tire place said the side wall belts are splitting. Emailed several times, no response. Called and waited on hold for 4 hours, 56 minutes. They answered and immediately hung up because it was closing time. They have also blocked the "contact seller" through ebay portal. NEVR AGAIN!!"

"i spent $1271.62 at discount tire in merrillville In my sales person was perfect but after i paid my bill every thing went down hill . after my tires were put on i pulled my car out my low tire light came on all 4 tires different air peressure so i went back into the store got back in line told the counter man what was wrong he told me to get in line out side to have them aired up there were about 8 cars in line i had already spent 2hrs there i am a repeat customer. I found once you pay your money you are no longer important because when you go back for return service you are no treated like you matter i will not shop there again ."

The Discount Rep asked for a six pack

"10/17/2020 called Discount about my tire pressure light. Suggest I bring in my Toyota Tacoma 2009, 98k miles. total cost $64.32. Not a bad price. I left my vehicle and crossed the parking lot to Wal-Mart. I came back with my minimal purchase to retrieve my truck. Young BOYISH/ MAN taking m. y payment asked me " ARE YOU GONNA BUY ME A SIX PACK?" My response was " six pack of what?" LOGAN responded with "six pack of beer." I asked LOGAN " Are you even old enough to drink?" Logan's response "YES". I told Logan no to beer but I just bought some beef jerky, would he like some? Logan said "No". Apparently Logan was interested in drinking on the job, my receipt 12:56 PM. Location 1395 W Hunt Hwy, San Tan, Az. I am almost 64 years old(next couple months). Do YOU want these people working on a 3 ton vehicle of yours? not to mention your son/ daughter/ Mom/ Dad or Grandparents vehicle? I complained to the manager Mondo, Mondo says ill talk to him. Talking is not enough. Please... DO NOT SUPPORT DISCOUNT TIRE. I even cancelled my appt. for Sat 10/24/20 to replace a spare tire which Mondo said he would comp. Never again on that property location."

Glad to be done with Discount Tire

"I made the mistake of buying a set of tires from Discount Tire in Rogers, Minnesota because at the time they were the only dealer with the tires I wanted. There were a few times when I would set up an appointment for a routine rotation and wait rather long periods of time because of walk-ins. Appointments there are basically useless. When the tires were roughly ½ worn out, I started getting unwarranted sales pitches that I should buy another new set of tires because it wasn’t safe to use the ones I had because of the winters. Granted we can get some pretty nasty winter storms here in Minnesota, but to only use a tire for ½ of its’ life just doesn’t make good economic sense. The sales pitches got more intense as time went on. Now, this week, they flat out refused to rotate my tires claiming that the front ones had more tread than the back ones. Not only is that not true, I'm sure the real reason is because I wouldn’t buy a new set from them, even though they have plenty of tread above the minimum. So in summary, appointments are useless, they don’t honor their promises if they don’t feel it’s financially beneficial to them, and you’ll get pressured to buy new tires even when there’s nothing wrong with your old ones. I’m glad to be done with Discount Tire. I’ll gladly pay a little more somewhere else."

Mixed feelings

"I had a good rep (Caesar) who helped me match prices from other sellers and create a tire/wheel package that would meet my rushed timeline. However,the tire mounting was a disaster as their employee mounted two directional tires in the wrong direction. (shipping quality control????). Their customer service immediately issued credit to pay for the remounting of the tires,but it cost me precious time for breaking in the tires before my autocross event (the reason FOR the rush purchase). Over all,I'd still recommend them because they were VERY helpful in the purchase and correcting their error. They matched tire price and their wheel price was very good. I autocross two different cars and own 6 vehicles,so I purchase a lot of tires and I think these guys are worth buying from."

"I ordered a set of wheels for my vehicle and got an email stating they would be ordering from a manufacturer and would get an update in a few days. I called about 7 days after my purchase because I did not hear anything and the sales rep, George Driver, was VERY helpful and gave me all the information I needed. I received the wheels shortly after this conversation and they look great!! "
